Sorry Bears fans, they came out strong but lost it on the 2nd half.  I enjoyed watching a few of the games today although Cleveland/Pittsburgh was a joke.  Hope Cleveland is going to pull something together or their games will be boring!

Bengals get opening game on Monday night!  It's supposed to be a pretty good match up so I guess I will see how my team is going to look tomorrow.

Who Dey!  I have tickets for the game tonight - I am so excited! Have you seen any interviews with Chad?  Looks like it's going to be a fun year with him!  I hope he gets a touchdown tonight - he's promised quite a celebration.

AHA, I am in San Diego.  My husband's father bought tix to the first San Diego Charger's game ever held here in the early 60's.  Now, of course, they will be leaving in the next year.  We are heart-broken.  But there is no money in the city budget for a new stadium.  They played the hokey-pokey a few years ago and actually got a city council to allow people to retire and STILL KEEP WORKING, GETTING TWO CHECKS!

AND, about 5 years ago, we spent 70 million to "upgrade" the stadium, needless to say, no one is rushing around to work out a way to build a new stadium, so I am sure the Chargers will leave.

Oh, and we built a new baseball stadium in the meantime.

Sighhh, it will be hard, but we must be tough.

And, the Bears were formidable.  Without the turnovers, we would not have won.  Congrats to the Bears for a great game plan.

Boy, my Chiefs SUCKED!  Here's hoping they improve - I have tickets to the Denver game so am hoping by November they remember how to score a touchdown!!

It was good to see Donnie back in a KC uniform where he belongs.

Here in NY, we have TWO teams stinking up the place - as if the Meadowlands wasn't smelly enough! I'm really hoping their debuts were just opening night jitters...

All right, Felicia!  There's my silver lining - only one bad team and they aren't even in Kansas!

WHO DEY!!!  Tonights game was a nail bitter!  Carson needs to get on his game if he wants to have more wins this season.  Was a great Monday night opener.  As for Chad, he has his sexy back  :)  I was disappointed with his celebration but he did well to not get the team in trouble.  Hopeful, I am so jealous, wish I had tickets to the game.

Who Dey! What a game!  My seats are in the south end zone very close to where the Monday Night Football crew was set up.  I had a direct view of Emmit Smith!  It was so great to see the sea of orange and very little purple.  A few years ago, it seemed like there were more Baltimore fans than Bengals fans at the game. Even with the fumble at the end of the game - no one left their seat.  That place was rockin!

    Next week - Cleveland.  Predictions?

I was really happy watching my beloved Patriots play such a good game.  They really were on target the entire game.  Here's to hoping they do the same this Sunday night against the Chargers...

The Cinc/Balt game last night sure was a nail biter!

ESPN just reported that the Patriots actually filmed the Jets sideline during the game - a violation of league rules. They may be fined heavily and possibly loose some future draft picks...

That explains some of why the Jets defensive line looked like a group of pre-schoolers!

I heard bits and pieces of that, why is that a violation?  The games are all taped and film is used for training?  Although I don't know why the Patriots would need that.  They seem to have a very strong team this year.

As a Patriots fan, I am now hanging my head in shame.Embarassed  The team is very strong this year, so I don't understand why they did it.  They didn't need to do it.  Bill Belichick has been severely chastised - a half million dollars!!!!  And draft picks!!!!  Bob Kraft got fined $250,000 even though the NFL said they didn't believe he knew anything about it. YIKES!!!!  I'll still be rooting for them.

Oh heck, don't feel too bad, every team does the same thing, they just didn't get caught. They film, pay people to listen, steal play books, all part of the game. And the Patriots are no worse or no better than every other team, they just got caught.

We play them Sunday night and we are running scared. Didn't exactly look super against the Bears. If they hadn't had the turnovers, they would have beaten us.

That's what you get for shining up that Super Bowl Ring before the season even starts! hahaha

As a Jet fan of course I feel a bit vindicated... but as a realistic football fan, Methinks the Jets would have been creamed by the Pats whether they were photo'd or not!

Belichik (sp?) has a big grudge against his former team.

I was wondering if a team hired some one who had a photograpic memory and had them watch the signals, would that be cheating?  Any NFL team that doesn't change it's signals after every game deserves to lose.  I can't see how filming could have helped with the current game - the videographer would have to be watching the game to see which signals applied to the moves.  He then would have to match the signals to the play and communicate it to the coach who would then communicate to the players.  I don't think someone could do it that fast.  Oh, well a black mark against us.  It's even carrying over into other sports - in the Red Sox game the other night, the ump made on of the pitchers take off his bracelets.  I guess everyone thinks we are all cheaters in the Northeast.Cry

I was listening to sports radio yesterday while mowing the lawn and they said that it is standard practice for football teams to have people standing there with binoculars trying to get the codes, etc. The Patriots did it with camera and got caught.  Grrr, makes me mad..we have such a good team this year, I don't think we need to steal the signals to win the game.  Evidently, the guy was caught very early in the game and the camera was confiscated, so I think we won the game fair and square (I hope).

The fines were substantial, but losing the draft picks will really hurt.  I hope we can all just put this behind us and PLAY SOME FOOTBALL! Laughing

Well!  DaBears looked terrible last week.  I had to take a xanax in the middle of the game.  One more turnover - would have done me in.  We had more turnovers than points.

Hoping we get back in line this week.  Love the Chargers, but Ron Rivera made a nasty comment about his old team.  Mental midgets?  Geez - just goes to show why he isnt with the Bears anymore.  What a lack of class!

Good luck to everyone and hope your teams win.

Was I dissappointed from Sundays game, the score looked more like a  basketball game.  I am not thrilled with how our offense looked and the defense, well......Cincinnati needs to find a defense!  I will keep routing them on though!

Big talk of the day though was the Patriots, I watched some of their game and had to wonder how many teams they taped.  Awful how one bad act can taint the actual goodness of a team.

My hope for the Patriots is that they keep winning which will prove that the taping really had no effect on their game since they are no longer doing it.  The talk around here is that Bill Belichick could probably deduct the fine on his tax return if he can prove that he didn't cheat, just broke a rule.  Does anyone know what happens to the money the NFL gets from these fines?  They just got 3/4 of a million dollars and I bet that could really help out some deserving charity.  Probably not, but I could hopeSmile

Hi ADK, the Patriots are a super team and they sure don't need any help from anyone. Stop feeling bad about the silly signs. ALL the teams do everything they can to get an edge, but it all boils down to how good you are, and the Patriots are good!

I too hope that money is well spent, maybe on some of the older players who are really in dire straits and get not one word or cent of help from the No Fun League. Some of these guys are so badly beaten up they are not able to work, did not make a lot of money, and putting this fine money in a fund for them would sure be a good idea.

    Hey, Shirlann,

What a good idea.  I wonder if that is what they do with it.  I heard yesterday that the only income OJ Simpson is allowed to legally keep is his NFL pension and that is only about $1,700 a month.  I wonder how little the lesser known guys are getting (if anything) if he is only getting that amount.

That is an interesting question, Chad Johnson personally funds alot of stuff with his fines for his silly stuff.  I can tell you the Bengals don't film the other sidelines, if they do the defense shows NO signs of it!  LOL  Like I said, all this other stuff is finally taking the media attention away from all the Bengals that have been arrested in the last year!  LOL

If the chiefs are filming the sidelines, they are doing it to get the latest hairstyles because there's no way they're clued in to what's happening on the field.

Sam - pretty brave to have that avatar!!

    GO CHIEFS!
