Hi Colleen -
I agree. I'm also in LA. I know there's others too ...
CalGal -
I'm in! Maybe this should be posted somewhere else??? Colleen, if we had not PM'ed each other, I would never have known this was here.
mitzi -
I am in Orange County, is that close enough???? I am walking in the Race for the Cure on the 23rd. Anyone want to join us?
If you are getting together somewhere not too much into LA (city) I might be able to join in....but hate LA itself. How about a someplace to eat at Downtown Disney??? -
I'm in L.A. too! I know that FORCE is planning a meeting soon..
-
Hi ladies: Maybe I'll PM each of you, but how about October 13th or November 3rd or 4th in the afternoon or early evening? We could meet in Torrance or we could meet somewhere else convenient. I'm not sure where calgal is from . . .

I'm here in Riverside County .... Downtown Disney is not too far away. Maybe a Sunday?
-
Hi Rocktobermom: Maybe Sunday, November 4th? Downtown Disney is great; lets see what others think. I've pm'd the others so they should be checking in here in a few days. Where are you coming from?

Hello All & Thanks for the pm Colleen -
I'm definitely interested in a get-together. I live in LA, halfway between Santa Monica & downtown, close enough to the 10, 101 and 405 fwys.
I have to say that "Downtown Disney" is by no means LA ... Also, it's well into Orange County.
I'd love to meet and maybe that location would give more people the opportunity to attend ... but it is a big drive for those of us in LA, but I'm willing! Sounds like Crami2 and I have opposite views of LA and Orange County ...
I noticed that a few of you live in the South Bay ... there's also Long Beach - which is at the south end of LA County, but closer to Orange Co ...
Maybe something like the Yardhouse, because they have an extensive menu and there's good food and the place is so big, cavernous really, (tables are relatively far apart and we could probably linger w/o pressure for them to turn the tables) ... Although I usually dislike tv screens for sports at restaurants, I think the size compensates ... I just thought that I needed to make a suggestion ...
I'd prefer Sun 11/4 to 10/13 ...
Again, whatever works best for most people would be fine ...

Hi! I like the November 4th date too. My experience with the Yardhouse, although large and tasty, is that it is very noisy. An alternate suggestion might be Manhattan Beach, on Rosecrans somewhere. There are alot of good restaurants there. . .What do you ladies think?
-
Hi Colleen -
On Rosecrans somewhere sounds good. That's not too far off the I-105 for those coming from further away ...
Do you have any restaurants in mind?

The majority are able to get together on Sunday, so we will meet on November 4th at 4:00 p.m. at
Romanos Macaroni Grill 25352 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance, CA310-534-1001If you know of others who may not read this board, please let them know. It would be nice to reach out to as many local ladies as possible.
-
Hi dear sisters, this is Shirlann from the San Diego group. There is no reason, at some time, when you get sorta established, that we cannot have a joint luncheon somewhere in between.
We would love that!
Keep this in mind as you move along.
Hugs, Shirlann
-
That's so right on, Shirlann! I'm a 909 girl and I'm coming down finally this weekend to meet you all. Out of the way, but that's okay!! I'd do the OC, too.
-
I'd love an OC lunch - I would be there!
-
We're going to try to be there.
I'm a 951 girl, so a 909, 858, 619, 714, or 949 get together all work for me. My cell phone is still a 310!
-
This Sunday, 11/4 at 4:00 pm - I'll be there.
From pm's, it sounds like there are more of us attending ... all are welcome.
I look forward to meeting all of you!

Oops! Sorry ...
I feel like I've lost brain cells post chemo ...
I thought it was the one on Rosecrans, not the one in the south end of Torrance ... I was trying to juggle this event with something else in Pasadena, so I'm sorry I can't make it.
If any of you are going to the Metastic Breast Cancer Network conference at MDA (Houston, TX) in mid-Nov, let me know and we can meet there.
I'll try for the next one.

Hi LA ladies , I live in LA california ,
Do you know any good oncologist or surgeon in my area, I am newly diagnosed and lost in all these things.
-
Hi Melania,
I'm sorry for your diagnosis, but you've found a great place for understanding and support. I think we all feel very lost at first, but once you have a treatment plan in place, it's a lot easier to deal with.
I host EnCourage, an educational support group and we have a meeting scheduled for October 12th in Torrance. The upcoming topic is the various methods of breast reconstruction with their pros and cons, being presented by Drs. Frank DellaCroce and Scott Sullivan, experts in restoring women to wholeness. I'll send you a PM with more details. We have a great group of ladies and several of us have the same oncologist and really love him.
