I sure HOPE BCO didnt spend a lot of money on this awful new format.(But I fear they did.)

Remind me not to make any more contributions to THEM!!

I wonder why they saw fit to "fix" it when it wasnt broke???

I am trying to edit this post to see if it re-posts it a second time with the changes.

Very very yucky new program here.  totally awkward to use. not intuitive or user-friendly at all.  It seems to take at least 3 more steps to do anything on here now with this new program compared to what we we were able to do in one step on the old program......very tiring....so much more scrolling now too.

and my little cat avatar (which i had to add again) has now lost his red tongue.

I remember how we complained when they changed it last time.  Hopefully they will be able to add the things we miss the most, and it will become managable like the other one did, after a time.  It's sure a bitch right now.  Very tiring to use for now.

I like to stop in at the site if I get a chance, whenever.

NOW they make you log in each time!WHY???That is SO stupid, and unneccessary!

In olden days, I never logged out. When I wanted to come in, all I had to do was click on the icon on my toolbar and I was in.

This is SOOO much trouble.

As Celia said, everything you do has at LEAST 3 extra steps.

And gosdh!I corrected a typo, the PROGRAM saidf I edited it.I dont like that! The old program used to ask"mark as edited?"

I only said yes if I changed the content.

With me it is always typos.

Thing is, I never wanted to be a computer whiz when I grew up.

I have just enough skill to have been able to relax and enjoy the old program.

I am a CANCER SURVIVOR, trying to communicate w/other onesa.I am NOT a secratary.Or a computer whiz of any sort.If this were a job, I would refuse it.

The PRINT is too small for me to read!No wonder I make typos.

I definately want the old program back. This is serious. If you want people who can cope with this (silly) new program, then say goodbvye to old Joan.

I do not like this new board at all. There is no way to preview your post. Also, you can't tell if there are new entries in the threads. This just sucks. It also reverted back to my old screen name for some reason. I don't think I will be coming around too much anymore. It is too nerve wracking. I do wish you all the very best. Take care of you.

Well it certainly has been frustrating the last 24 hours!    I not one who does well with change and finding it harder to communcate with all my friends.

Guess there are good things to the change.  Wont be getting no more inappropriate porno posts.  We will only be able to have one account.  So I'm thinking maybe the new system will actually protect us more - but its a pain waiting for all the kinks to be found.

Add my name to the list that absolutely hates this flippin' new format.

Joan, I agree, WHY do you have to log on every single time??  Before if you just checked "remember me" you could get in, now you have to do log on, then it all appears and you just hit another key and your in.  Two very unnecessary steps.

I hate you get to a page, very few post, then to get to the next page you have to go all the way back to the top.  You can no longer change forums at the bottom of the page and I did see how you could edit - which last night when you edited appeared as an entirely new post showing edited - but still haven't figured out how to delete a post.  I never have deleted one - but one never knows.

I think I am most frustrated that they could not have had average folks - board users test this new program before they loaded it.  If they had, they would have realized how awkward it is.  I can't imagine being newly diagnosed and finding this site.  I wouldn't have stayed.  This is way to much trouble - I wish I could be more positive.  I think they will work out "bugs" but the rest of it isn't going to change; that would be an entire program rewrite I would think.

OK, I had a hissy fit because it was showing my real name and I want to protect the privacy of family members I have discussed here. So they changed me to "Changed" but I can't change me back to "Member of the Club. Blech. HATE IT.

Well-put.  I think the new format is very awkward and now that I'm typing in my first post I see how tiny the size of the type is!!  Wow . . .

Only log in today.
It's different and a bit early
to say something about it.

One thing that I find useful already
is the user profile the "Diagnosis"
that we have on "My home"
one can make it private or public,
find it useful when we are dealing
with info and trading info.
The rest so far has the same features
and others that at least I did not checked yet.

Avatar is working... at least in my profile...

Let's see if emoticons work?  Smile
now if emoticons from somewhere else are working ...

Good to see this place ON again.

Hate too, to deal with  interface changes but...

sometimes it has to be.

Hugs.

Maybe I am talking too early or doing something wrong
or this is covered already but still is not working
at least for me.

A very useful info that it was in the previous format
at least I think we should have or keep on having
was the location;
under our ID = Avatar beside each message we post .
We used to have location under this

To most may not make much difference,
but for someone like me or anyone that live out borders
of any country that has English as a main language,
it helps a lot...
mainly as too language and way of expressing.
If I say something wrong
or do not use better terms to express myself...
any other user can figure quickly why is that,
may not have a thing to do with chemobrain
but the fact that English is not her/his main language...
Being Portuguese can explain a lot of things,
and on others works great as an excuse too. LOL  Tongue out

I am okay with it.  Some good things some bad. At least we can edit a post. I do like the preview option. Easier to change to bold and add an avitar.

Yeah, I hate it too.  I miss seeing everyone's avatar when I read the posts.  One good thing-the new format has prevented me from logging on more than once a day.

I'm back!!!! There was something fitting for a moment about teh user name "changed". After all, I have been from the cancer experience.

I think we just need to calm down and give it time. melissa has responded awfully quickly to my concerns and I think she is doing her best.

The only thing that bothers me so far is that when you go back into a post with new replies, you have to search for where you left off, rather than it taking you to the next new post.  Being able to preview your post was a good thing that seems to be missed by alot of people too.

I HATE THIS NEW FORMAT...and don't ask me why the words are all 10 times bigger than they should be, that is, of course, if you can actually see this when I press submit!!! (and I DIDN'T press bold by mistake, some gremlin has taken me over)

I hate that you can't get in to the site smoothly. I hate that its all differently set up. I hate you can't bring up 'go to last post read.' I hate that you can no longer see everyones avatars, that you can't tell where they come from, and how many posts they've made. (Not much really, but it all adds a bit of interest when you are just browsing.)

In short I do not like this place anymore, the feeling of belonging has gone, it is impersonal now, and if its going to be so much trouble signing in for this, and signing in for that (even though I HAVE pressed 'remember me') well its going to put off a lot of newbies, and a LOT of oldies as well !!!

Isabella.

I HATE IT!

It takes at least 3 steps to accomplish what we used to do in one step. It is very cumbersome and inefficient, and whatever you have to do is not clearly marked or intuitive.  Way too much scrolling all over the place.   I don't think the "look" of the site is much good either.  Not aesthetic-looking.

I am sure that the "bugs" can be fixed, but a lot of the problem is that the program itself is not efficient.

I would find it hard to believe that anyone test-drove this program and liked it.

celia

i had to edit this because it put <> in front of every sentence i wrote...

There's lots of things I don't like either.  Like Maria said, the location under the name if one chooses to have it posted.  Also, I miss seeing who started a new topic.  There's more, but I am not leaving just because I don't like the new format.  I will get used to it.  However, I do like the old one better.  Perhaps for most of us we just don't like drastic changes.  Oh, and I DEFINITELY like being able to preview a post before posting.  Cry

This is taking a lot of getting used to.  I don't have a problem with change, but I am so confused, I'm with whoever said, at least I'm only coming here once a day!!  I have no idea what conversations I was having, or who I had been speaking with about something...I can't figure out how to delete sent PMs...I suppose I'll get it after playing around with it for a bit.  I'm too old to be confused and my chemo brain cells aren't helping!!

This is really awful, as if someone intentionally designed it to be user-unfriendly. Having the forums (fora?) listed alphabetically is also terribly unfriendly. I think newcomers will be turned off by it - the previous listing presented forums according to the b/c experience: pre-diagnosis, being diagnosed, chemo, rads, etc.

Even the title, "Community Knowledge Exchange," sounds like something a pretentious freshman English major would call something that the internet community knows as a Message Board.
