Mary,
It will be nice to have my dh back here for good. On days like this, when I am not feeling too good, he made me lunch, just some soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, and now he is taking over dinner, too. I started it while he ran out to the store for a last-minute item I forgot to stock up on.
I think I am having the "low wbc" or neutropenia time. I feel achey, and feverish, and my back hurts a little. Last time, I got the Nupogen shots and I had the WORST backache of my entire life!! The Neuposgen shots kind of felt "warm" going in. The Neulasta didn't feel very bad, but the nurse told me to keep taking Claritin for the bone pain. It really wasn't too bad at first, but I still took Claritin for 3 days before stopping it. Then the joint pain started, but it really wasn't too bad, til now.
This time, it is just a dull pain, but I can't seem to get rid of it. I think it's best if I lay low for the rest of the day, and evening, too. I may just go to bed early. I hate laying around all the time, but I just can't seem to get up the energy to do anything.
I keep reminding myself that it could be ALOT worse! I am halfway through the tx, so I just gotta keep going!!
Thanks for all the positive thoughts. I hate to think that for most of this, I won't be able to do much. I don't think my dh understands, since I felt so GOOD the first tx! But, this pattern will probably continue til after Oct. 9th. Oh, I can't wait!
Thanks for the warm thoughts!
Hugs,
HARLEY -
Hi Harley,
So pleased to hear that Thor is doing so well but sorry to hear that you are aching and feeling below par. Please take things easy and let dear Thor snuggle up to you and soothe you.
Hugs,
gb -
It was nice to see so many of your kitty pictures. I wish I could post Molly but have no idea how to do it.
Great that Thor is recovering. Harley, hope you are starting to feel better too. Yes just take it easy and October will be here before you know it.
I right now have another horrible fungus infection under my arm. Dr. says it is from the radiation. This is the 2nd one - another thing they never mentioned. LOL. I know it is so easy compared to what some of you are experiencing but I just hate this disease and wish we would all recieve a miracle cure and feel as good as Thor does right now.
Harley, great your husband is with you. Just be waited on.
Connie -
kats,
Thanks! I can't believe how great Thor has been with taking his medicine! I open his mouth, and throw the pill in, and he gulps and swallows it! He is SUCH a GOOD BOY!
I'm feeling better today.
Thanks
HARLEY -
gb,
Thanks!
I am feeling better today.
I'll be so glad when all this is behind me!
HARLEY -
Connie,
When will you be finished the rads? Did you get chemo, too? I am lucky, I didn't have to get rads. That is so scary!! Do they have any cream to put on that burn??
Yes, all this bc crap is horrible! I hope they find something to prevent it from happening.
I'll be finished the chemo Oct 9th, that is my last tx! Then, reconstruction on Nov. 7th! YIPPEE! So far, the worst part has been losing my hair, and these crazy, stupid low wbc weeks, when one day, I just start feeling achey, feverish and chills...
I was one like so many others, who never thought it would happen to me....
Hugs

Harley- Glad you're feeling better today. It's nice that your DH made you lunch and finished up dinner for you yesterday.
Took my 'Oliver' for his T-4 (thyroid) test today, they weighed him and he lost more weight. I'm not sure the thyroid meds are helping him, he should be gaining weight not losing weight. Hope Thor is doing okay.
Had a fun day on Labor Day.....NOT, the sewer backed up in my laundry room 3 times yesterday. Had it rodded out today only to find out we have a break somewhere in the sewer line that leads from the house to the main sewer. So tomorrow they're coming to dig up my front yard and replace the sewer line, the charge for that is..............$3400.00. Of course it's not covered on homeowners insurance.

Mary,
YIKES!! $3400! and it's NOT covered under your homeowners insurance? Wow! I have heard stories from other friends about their sewer systems and how costly it can be!
Yes, my dh is so nice, when it really counts! He may not understand all this bc stuff, but if I tell him that I am not feeling very good, he really comes through when I need him!! He is a much better cook than I am, and he is the one who usually cooks... but I am supposed to clean up after.
Sorry to hear about Oliver! What kind of medicine is he taking? I thought usually cats were HYPER thyroid! That
is hard to treat with humans, so maybe it will take some time to get his thyroid regulated... Let me know how he's doing!
Hugs to you and Oliver,
HARLEY -
Harley- Nope, sewer repair is not covered under homeowners insurance because it's outside the homes foundation. If we had water damage inside the home from the sewer back up exceeding $5,000.00 that would be covered.
Glad you're able to let your dh help you when you need it. When I was doing chemo I wish I would have been more willing to accept help when it was offered & ask for help when I needed it. Sometimes having a type A personality can be a good thing but other times not so much. I can say now that I've given over to much more of a type B personality, it feels much better.
My cat 'Oliver' is hyperthyroid, weight loss is usually one of the first symptoms owners notice in their cats before diagnosis. He's been on Tapazole for almost 5 months now, first in the transdermal form and then for the past 3 months in pill form. He should have started to put back some of his weight but instead he's still losing it. During the years working as a Vet Tech I've unfortunately learned some cats never respond to treatment for hyperthyoidism..........I was just hoping my cat wouldn't be one of them.
I was working at a cat hosptial in Alexandria, VA when I got 'Oliver', he was 10 days old. He's 14 1/2 now so he's been with me for quite a while.
Hope you and Thor are both doing good.
Mary -
Mary,
Wow! I had heard that there was some kind of insurance issue with sewers, and sewer problems, but I never knew why... it sounds like just a way they get out of covering things that they SHOULD cover!
Well, I am used to being pampered by my dh... I keep telling me that he has spoilt me, because he often tells me to get busy doing this or that... stuff he considers "my" job, but now, I am trying to take it easy, and some of these jobs are on the list of DO NOT DO... when you are having chemo... but he still doesn't get it... like I STILL get to scoop the litter boxes, since it is MY JOB!!!
But overall, he's a great guy, so I usually don't complain!
So sorry about Oliver!!! I hope they can find something that will work for him...
Hugs to you and your kitties!
HARLEY
