does anyone here use this. i just bought a swansons brand bottle of it. wondering if it has any benefits in powder form. it contains about 30 different fruits and veggies in powder form. i add them to my breakfast smooothies. i have been doing smoothies for years now as i am not a breakfast person. they generally consist of frozen berries, plain yogurt, protein powder and ground flax.

i eat healthy, exercise, dont smoke, dont drink, get massages, meditate, etc etc and look where it has gotten me. diana

Dianea--Sadly we have no control whether we will have BC or not. Whnat I sooth myself with is that perhaps I did better with the treatment and prevention of recurrance by eating healthy. I want to feel I did all I could...for me and for my family.

So, do keep on what you are doing! I am here rooting for you!

I agree with Candyce. So many women here who have bc did 'nothing wrong' to get bc, besides being born a woman and getting older. I've seen figures like 70% of the women diagnosed with bc have no known obvious risk factors besides these.

I think there is so much that is unknown about what exactly is beneficial in fresh fruits and vegetables that it is hard to say whether this is good or not scientifically.

This paper supported dehydration in certain fruits http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez..._RVAbstractPlus

This paper opines that many factory affect lycopenes http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez...Pubmed_RVDocSum

I doubt if you will be able to find out how they processed your powder, but even if you did, it would probably be difficult to see if the nutrients were retained. Part of the reason is we don't know what all the 'goodies' in fruits and vegetables are.

I think most nutritionists believe that in general, fresh fruits and vegetables are the most healthy. Since animals usually only consume them in the fresh form rather than a processed form, evolutionarily we may be more 'used' to fresh fruits and vegetables. But not everyone has access to fresh, and its a lot more convenient to sometimes use processed fruits and vegetables.
But that's only my unprofessional opinion.
