Just received a phone call from my mom whose best friend's daughter has been struggling with metastisized breast cancer for several years. She has 2 young daughters, lives in California; married but her mom who lives here in Ct. believes that she greatly needs help in the home and insurance will not cover this. Any suggestions re: where someone might get assistance in the California area?? Thanks!!

    Jaredsmom,
I don't know about California ,but have you tried the county
resorces where she lives . The Health dept. has many programs. Also her local hopitals Welfare agency also may
be able to hook her up. Google the county and agencies such
as United way. I am not sure , but wanted to throw some ideas
    out there for you.

    Hugs,
    Carrie

csp~ thanks for your suggestions~ I greatly appreciate your response. My mom told me today that our friend who is 49 is now paralyzed on one side~ her husband is needing to stay home from work to provide all of her hands-on care. She is not eligible for hospice services as of yet due to the fact that she is still receiving active treatment. So...they are looking for someone to help...I will pass on the suggestions you've made! Thanks again~ Laura

Where in California are they? There's northern and southern California, big state indeed. Carrie is correct in that the county health departments are good place to start. Best wishes,
