Cy-so glad to here your news. What a relief for you.

Iris-car troubles are such a hassle. My dh has been a mechanic since birth and we still feel like car problems are such a burden.

Cheri-I wish I could twitch my nose or snap my fingers and take all that infection away.

Christinek-Hope you have a very enjoyable week-end. I miss going to fresh water lakes. We have reservoirs here.

Peter-Glad you are taking it easy.

Nicki-Maybe your dh is finally getting a clue about you. Sometimes we just have to say what is on or minds. I am glad things are better in your area. Weather can really change the way your day (or week) goes. When I was a kid we had a beagle dog. When she thought she was in trouble for something she would start limping. The funny thing was it was never the same paw.

Vickie-Tomorrow will be a glorious day. I was baptized just a few years ago. It was a very special experience I will never forget.

Sue-my youngest started 1st grade a couple weeks ago. The all day thing as been an adjustment but he is doing great. I am sure yours will too. Is he going to the same school you will be teaching at?

Margaret-It is hotter than anything down in S. CA today too. Humidity is just yucky. Concerning the ooph; my tram scar is at the bikini line where I had my c-section scars. I had a great ooph surgeon who was able to do the surgery lapro even with the mesh in place. I have 3 little hole scars from that surgery. He was also able to go in and get rid of that scar tissue under my rib area that was so painful, through one of those holes. My ps and gyn know each other well so they figured out the best angle and everything to go in based on my ps’s knowledge of the area.

Denise-The Salvation Army is going to love you. I think we are going to do the yard sale and then call them.

Rita-I had a lot of trouble keeping up when I first came here. It does seem to get easier or I am just spending way to much time on this web site.

Madison-rest in the dark. Hope that helps you feel better. I had one house close yesterday another one closing Tues or Weds and one closing on the 12th. It has been a busy month for me.

Well my boys want to go to the library so I better get off here. They are threatening to completely destroy my clean house if I stay on the computer this morning. Hope everyone has a great day.

I am amazed (saddened) at how many of our girls have such young ones at home. I know Charlene has a 2 year old, and I keep reading about all the first graders going off this year. Cancer is so not fair, and seems to not discriminate on age. Blessings to you all.

I don't think I told you about the lady I met at Meijer (store) last week. I was in the grocery aisle and a older woman and her husband were in the same aisle. She had the tell tale "stubble" hair due and I noticed a pink ribbon on her sweater. I had smiled at her and kept going.....then I stopped and told her that I had noticed her ribbon and assumed she was a BC survivor. I noticed how nice her skin looked for her age......better than mine. Anyhow, she had BC in 2003, same year I was DX. She is now going through treatment for Mets to her lungs and liver. She gave me the biggest hug and we were on our way. When I checked out she was sitting on a bench by the door and her husband was standing there...........he told me how happy I had made his wife.......no one had ever stopped her and given her such encouragement......and it had come from a complete stranger.
Wow, that made my day!

ISN'T THIS THE TRUTH ??????


you may need to stop at the women's restroom . . . be


prepared!





When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually


find a line of women, so you smile politely and take


your place. Once it's your turn, you check for feet


under the stall doors. Every stall is occupied.





Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking


down the woman leaving the stall.


You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't


matter, the wait has been so long you are about to wet


your pants! The dispenser for the modern 'seat covers'


(invented by someone's Mom, no doubt) is handy, but


empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook, if


there was one, but there isn't - so you carefully, but


quickly drape it around your neck, (Mom would turn


over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR!), yank


down your pants, and assume ' The Stance.'





In this position your aging, toneless thigh muscles


begin to shake. You'd love to sit down, but you


certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay


toilet paper on it, so you hold 'The Stance.'





To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach


for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper


dispenser. In your mind, you can hear your mother's


voice saying, 'Honey, if you had tried to clean the


seat, you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!'


Your thighs shake more.





You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose


on yesterday - the one that's still in your purse. (Oh


yeah, the purse around your neck, that now, you have


to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same


time). That would have to do. You crumple it in the


puffiest way possible. It's still smaller than your


thumbnail .





Someone pushes your door open because the latch


doesn't work. The door hits your purse, which is


hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and


you and your purse topple backward against the tank of


the toilet. 'Occupied!' you scream, as you reach for


the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled


tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing


altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET


SEAT. It is wet of course. You bolt up, knowing all


too well that it's too late. Your bare bottom has made


contact with every imaginable germ and life form on


the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet


paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken


time to try. You know that your mother would be


utterly appalled if she knew (yes I would!), because, you're certain


her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat


because, frankly, dear, 'You just don't KNOW what kind


of diseases you could get.' (That's so right!!)





By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the


toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a


stream of water like a fire hose against the inside of


the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that covers


your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes.


The flush somehow sucks everything down with such


force that you grab onto the empty toilet paper


dispenser for fear of being dragged in too.





At this point, you give up. You're soaked by the


spewing water and the wet toilet seat. You're


exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you


found in your pocket and then slink out


inconspicuously to the sinks.





You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with


the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with


spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of


women still waiting.





You are no longer able to smile politely to them. A


kind soul at the very end of the line points out a


piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where


was that when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from


your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her


warmly, 'Here, you just might need this.'





As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since


entered, used, and left the men's restroom. Annoyed,


he asks, 'What took you so long, and why is your purse


hanging around your neck?'





This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a


public restrooms (rest??? you've GOT to be kidding!!).


It finally explains to the men what really does take


us so long. It also answers their other commonly asked


questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs.


It's so the other gal can hold the door, hang onto


your purse and hand you Kleenex under the door!





This HAD to be written by a woman! No one else could


describe it so accurately!

Gina I'm so glad you got the Pinkstock afgan and the scrapbook! to see your smiling face is the best of all. We love you and I know this has been a really difficult year.

I start my next rounds of Abraxane and Avastin on Wed. as long as I can tolerate it they will keep it going. believe it or not my hair is actually growing back! It's very blond and like peach fuzz. That is just so wierd to me.

My nails area are very ugly but if the treatment keeps doing what it has been and when I test inNov they can say I'm NED I'll be happy.

Good afternoon Circle. I'm trying my hardest to stay awake. Seems I'm suddenly so tired all the time. No energy. But I am alive and I am a fighter. Got my infusions over with this morning. I have got to stop sitting and watching for little air bubbles. I'm actually doing alot better with it all, just takes a little time and alot of focus.

Nicki, thanks for the tip on helping my veins. If I know they're going to draw then I drink as much water as I can stand. My poor old veins are just tired. Hopefully they'll get my meds regulated and only have to stick me one day a week.

Denise, thanks for the tip with the damp, warm was cloth over my veins, that one I haven't tried...yet. But you can bet I will, I hate being a pin cushion.

CY, oh my goodness I'm go happy for your news. I just know you're going to pull back out of this. I miss you.

Jankay, I got your message today on the phone. It's not that I'm avoiding your calls at all. I was still in bed when you called this morning. I don't normally get up very early and then I do my infusions starting at 10:45. Nothing personal, just have odd hours.

Margarette, I think it's a good sign Ambers new boyfriend is different than the usual, too. This boy is very personable, funny, tall (she's 5'10") has an education and good job but he's not the good looking snobby types she usually gets and he doesn't seem to hang on her every word and puppy dog around after her. I think she likes that. They've spent alot of time together but he hasn't met the boys yet. She doesn't bring guys around her boys unless they are just strictly friends she's known a long time. Or unless a relationship gets serious. Which has only been once and that was her husband. So Ethan has never seen her with a man except his step dad. My gosh I wish she'd find the right guy and live happily ever after. she likes this one and she told me this morning that she was gonna try and not screw this one up. hahaaha She knows how she is. He wants to take her to meet his parents this afternoon.

Vickie, seems we've lost touch a little. Sorry bout that. I'm really self-absorbed right now but I'm on my way back. This bad infection and all it includes is a bit over whelming but I'm doing better. When I start feeling better it'll be really great. You're on my mind though.


Jazz, come back to this Circle. I'm not going to ask you again, hard head. lol

All I can say is WOW! Alot of posts since I was on here earlier. Have been enjoying the day. I did some researching about my blood test results. So Im being monitored for Diabetes, must lose weight, go on a low fat diet, and stop drinking wine. Thats why my cholesterol is good but my triglycerides and LDL are high. It said stop eating hard candy - which I do alot during the day. This is going to be a big transition from South Beach. The biggy is eat alot of fruits and vegetables!!And dont worry about the carbs in the fruits.

Sheri: Thank you for the wonderful breakfast. I settled for cheerios with blueberries. Wasnt bad at all.

MargaretB: Im in the "whatever mood." Seems to be making an impression.

Sherloc: I dont like the sound of this bat thing at all. A lady here had a bat in her attic and it had rabies. I vote for getting a professional.

Denise: Would you believe Mister in limping again. Thankgood I have some medicine for him. Its funny. The vet ordered the same doage of Ultram that my doctor ordered for me. Looks like its a tendon and no way is he walking with me tomorrow.

Charlene: You sound positive in your choice. Thats a good sign. When I made my surgery decisions, my mind was made up.

Ritajean: Have you gotten any golfing in?

Madison: I absolutely had migraines. 7 houses is great. It encouraging to hear things might just be starting to thrive again there.

BMD: Im laughing at your Beagle story. Our pets are something.

SoCal: Good to see you. You always have such good advice. I sure wouldnt want to scare anyone new. Made me stop and think.

Cheri: When I had the pneumonia, I didnt realize how fatigued I would be. Your infection is much worse than my pneumonia. So I can really understand why you are tired. Your body is still in the fighting mode. You need to get all the rest you can.

OK - back to the baby afghan. Still dont have one done and still need to do another one.

Have you guessed the word yet? Future DIL is a vet tech and she sent our Dog some medicine today......hopefully it'll help her! Hey, if she quits limping maybe I'll take it!! She also says to give her that Glucosamine for humans...have to buy her some!
That diet doesn't sound like much fun.....but then I don't know of one that does! One day at a time.......that's all we can expect of ourselves!!

Denise-That was so kind of you. I am sure you made that lady feel so much better. Before I started chemo saw a lady at the grocery store with a hat on. I wanted to say something like I would be there soon or something. I just froze though. It turned out she goes to my church. Can you believe she was the first person to call me when my diagnosis was announced that Sunday. She had ovarian cancer. She has just been diagnosed with mets and is now going through chemo again. She was wearing her hat to church again last Sunday.

Gina- You look so good with your pinkstock afgan.

Charlene-She is a doll. She looks so happy.

SoCal-I have some choice words about this weather but they don’t allow them on this site. I have AC too but I am still sweating. I don’t even want to see the bill next month.

Cheri, I grew up in the same town as my hubby; he's 4 years older than me so we didn't go to school together but my classmates were younger brothers and sisters of his friends.

Shirley, we were pretty hot but not as hot as you - it was about 90 here. It's 9 p.m. and all the windows are open and all the ceiling fans are going.

Brenda/BMD, my daughter lives 4.5 hours away. Way to far for my liking. She used to live in Sacramento which is only two hours. I got to see my grands at least once a week then. Now it's about once a month. Makes me sad that I miss so many days in their little lives.

Vicki, I promise I won't be anywhere near bat poop. And no need to do any research. I've done plenty of mine own.

Karen, I see others have recommended glucosamine. I use Move Free Advanced, which is glucosamine with a kick. The regular stuff didn't do squat for me. But this stuff works. Really truly. The only issue I have now is a bit of stiffness when I sit to long. You might want to give it a try. After the initial load it would be two more pills a day. For me it is well worth not having the miserable pain anymore.

Cheryl, it is good to be seen my friend. Hmmmmm falling and feeling off balance is not good. Have you mentioned it to your doc?

Charlene, if you decide on the ooph, why not ask if it's possible to have it done at the same time as your exchange surgery?
Your gonna be doing all that "stuff" with your girls again soon enough. Your just taking a little time off right now.

Karen, Charlene has a good point about the vitD, you might want to think about upping your dose.

Cheri, my mom was one who refused treatment. Ticked me off that she would give up without a fight. But it was her choice to make so I had to deal with it.

Tomorrow I am going to "Breast Cancer Awareness Day" at the Atlanta Braves game. Miles is going with me, along with several members of "Breast Friends for Life" We get free tshirts and a walk on the field. Last year it was on Mother's Day and both my boys were there. Since Craig's birthday is coming up this month, I am feeling especially vulnerable right now. I miss him so. I don't know how I am supposed to go through the rest of my life without him.
