Changing the title back......
Still wondering if anyone can join us at the OC Komen Walk! -
usually i make it but this year we've been on the road so much i might not as it is a 2 hour drive for us ... you might also post on the Get Together's page .... will let you know if i can make it .... do you have a team?
-
Jenni, I think one of the girls from here is going to join me and,of course, my daughter is walking beside me. She is even on our team since she wanted a shirt and goody bag this year!
My daughter's Komen page -
I will be volunteering at the OC Komen Race for the Cure this year. I just moved to Arizona from Minnesota (but am from So. Cal) and I did the race in Minneapolis on Mothers Day. What an awesome and inspiring experience.

-
Ah Jenni! You are so sweet! Teryn was so excited!! Thank you so much for your donation!!
-
glad to support the cause
i see over under the Chatroom thread that CherylR has a team at the walk too ... she is very nice and was on my team last year .... the woman who was in the wheel chair last year is now their team captain !!!
-
Thanks jenni...for getting me back to right place....hehehe.
Roctobermom, as jenni said I will also be there. We are walking in the coed walk after the survivors function. We have a small (but mighty) team and it would be great to meet up. We had a great time with jenni and team last year and can't wait to repeat it (minus the wheelchair this year). Maybe we can exchange cell phone numbers or something. If you want to do so please pm me and I will send mine along your way.

wish we could join you guys this year but dh's knee surgery is at o'dark thirty the day after the walk and we need to keep him from stressing that knee and swelling it right up before the surgery ... hopefully next year !!
-
Jenni,
Give hubby an extra hug...hope all goes well with his surgery. How sweet you are to contribute to more than one walker this year. I am looking forward to this walk, last year was so wonderful. I had done this walk in the past to raise money, but last year was the first as a survivor. Can't wait todo it again.

crami & rocktobermom

Jenni
Once Komen finishes updating the donations we turned in race day our team should be over $2000. We were pretty happy with our results. Hope you can join us next year in person and not just in spirit.
Thanks again to you and SoCal for your donation! Could not have done it without you.
-
Jenni,
We all did awesome.
I will post a pic of me and dd ... and of her special project for the year for the school.
The name of the project was "I Can Make A Difference By ....."
She chose WALKING.
SHE took pics during the walk and then made a poster.
Her teacher got her first mammo because of her walking in the Walk.
I'll post the whole story later with the pic of the project!
-
great crami !
rock that reminds me of my friend esther .. she was doing a walk for bc awareness and she and her walk friend were talking that it was kind of hypocritical to walk for awareness when neither had had a mammo ... so esther got one and that was how she found her bc and her friend started getting annual ones and two years later that was how she found her bc .... both found very very early ... hugs to your daughter ...
