TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Shirley, sounds like I have to make a date so we can go see Tony the bartender. I was watching one of those real estate shows on TLC (not Flip this House but Sell this House or something like that) and there was a lady who thought she was getting a great deal on her house so she didn't have a house inspection. Big mistake because in addition to the other problems the house had, it also had bats. The bats had been living in the house so long that the guano I guess becomes dangerous to breathe. I guess what I'm saying is tell hubby not to mess around and get a professional in there to handle it. Is the restaurant at Jackson Rancheria or someplace like that?
Margaret -
Ive read the same thing about bat mess and have told him and told him till I'm blue. He is stubborn and wont agree. I'm gonna get the breathing doc to tell him it needs to be done by a professional. Just spent the last half hour watching them come home. Quite an interesting sight. They swoop and swirl and crawl up the wall to the point of entry.
Local Casino is Black Oak. Restaurant is called Three Sisters. I've been to Jackson Rancheria to the buffet restaurant many eons ago. It was pretty good. -
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHHAHA
That was to pickin funny Tricia -
I had a Wonderful birthday!!! Great food, gifts and companionship! I didn't go anywhere but was left alone and pampered all day long. My twin wrote me the most touching note in my birthday card, I Love her so much and am so grateful for her. She brought her big dog Walter, a bull mastiff, along and Ava was sooo darn cute chatting up a storm with him, showing him her boo boos and putting her hat on him! So nothing overly exciting which I'm not physically really up for but just how I wanted it. They stayed way late as always and I finally got to bed around 4:30 a.m. I'm going to pay for that today.
beth .. thank you for the birthday greetings. Sorry to hear about your yeast infection. My goodness, what next.
Susan .. so sorry for how you're feeling about work. I'll tell you one thing tho .. you are Not a Loser! You are a beautiful Survivor. And thanks for the birthday wishes!
CY .. Hugging you gently. Your Scott sounds like a real sweetheart. My birthday was just as I wanted it to be, thank you!
Margaret .. Wow, nice boss! Thank you for your wine suggestions. I will check them out! Your dress sounds really pretty.
Cheri .. Nice to see you posting. I missed the rumor! I guess I'm out of that loop!
Shel .. Be careful not to get burned in the sun! I'm still jealous!
Vickie .. Could you possibly have sun poisoning? You don't want to mess with that.
Shirley .. Happy Birthday to You!!! I Love the words you invent! My you have a busy week coming up! Thank you regarding the wine! I can't buy liquor at my grocery store. Antiquated PA laws .. they only sell liquor in "State" stores. It always surprises me when I'm in another state and I see alcohol in the grocery store or 7-11!
How sweet of you to be a chemo angel. Heartbreaking it is.
Have a fantabulous day and dinner out tonight!
Tricia .. LOL How true it is! Hope you and Shel meet up!
Oh, after not getting my period since starting on Tamoxifen in May it decided to come back on my birthday. So now I get to suffer from that along with the menopausal SE's of tamoxifen! Looks like I'll be rescheduling the transvaginal ultrasound I was due to have on Monday.
Mom left with Jeannine (my twin) last night. I don't have another fill until Sept 7th so until then I should be okay. Karl will take off work that day and then it's the weekend so he'll be able to look after the girls.
Karl's dad is coming to town and Karl insisted he stay with us. I'm none too happy about that! He picks him up from the airport Monday night. Karl has seen him twice in 10 years and they never talk. He doesn't even know about my breast cancer or reconstruction. It's just really bad timing with me being in the middle of recon and being tired and sore all the time. Plus school starts on Wed. I'm just not in the mood for this right now! Visiting is one thing but a complete stranger staying over while I'm going through this is another. Ugh...
Well enough of my whining!
I hope everyone from A - Z has a relaxing Sunday!
Love & Hugs
Charlene -
Tricia, I missed your post so we must have posted at the same time - that was pretty funny.
Margaret -
OK Cheri,
I admit it.
The rumor that I am Heidi Klum's body double is true.
I just can't keep a secret! -
Susan-You are not a loser! You are one of the most supportive, caring people I know. Jobs situations are tough. The right one will come along, probably when you are not looking.
Wine in grocery stores? Oh how I miss that! We live in a dry (some say moist) county, surrounded by dry counties. My dh drives 40 miles to the closest liquor store after pay day to pick up a case of beer and a couple of bottles of wine. I don't drink much just because it's too much trouble to get it! I do have a bottle of merlot sitting on the kitchen counter waiting for the perfect moment. A few years ago opening a bottle of wine usually meant dh and I were in for some "special" bonding. Now, it's just whether I want to use up my last remaining bottle.
Good to see you Cheri! Glad you dropped in.
Thanks for the well wishes for my school year. So far it's been great. We have 41 7-10th graders and they are the best kids. My friend with the pending divorce has to take her youngest daughter (10) to social services tomorrow. It turns out her dad had sexually molested her. So she'll be out again. That's been the biggest problem. Please keep her in your prayers. She feels like she's in a nightmare that just doesn't end.
Didn't make it to church. Trying to fight this crud. Just wanted to get a little extra sleep this morning.
Glad you had a good birthday, Charlene. Shirley, have a good one, too. -
Gina
I'm sorry but that is simply just not fair LOL -
Life just isn't fair...I'm secretly Rosanne Barr's body double!
Have a good day! I'm off to buy my back-to-school outfit for my first day at work.
Love and hugs to all from A to Z!

I really liked that one Jankay! Sums up my life.
-
Just a reminder of what I need to do! I think I may have figured out how to get pictures! Yeah! Was going to do more, but got the bandwidth exceeded. Oh, well. -
Well, it is eleven in the morning here..I have washed my car, pruned a huge amount of bushes,..and set up my new phone and answering machine so far..wonder how long my energy burst lasts??!!
Sherloc, glad you are safely home..you do need to take care of the bat problem...indeed...now that was the first word I saw from you in chat...many moons ago...
I need to read up now...I do see some states need to update their liquor laws...and enter the 21st century...
Hugs, SoCal -

Gina..hope your stomach flu is short lived..sorry I can't help with the triple negs...
Sheri..I always loved leaving the kids in their dorms..they were usually glad to be back at college..maybe not for studying however....my youngest son is a high school English teacher looking for a contract here in San Diego...
Charlene..glad you had a good bday!!!
CY...hoping the best for you..you do not need all these extra problems...

Tricia..love the bit about restrooms..I had my eyes opened when we went to Japan and I had to pass by the men going in the urinals to reach a stall...with just a hole in it...and I was six months pregnant so when I squated down, I could not get back up...no handrails or anything..hmmmmmm
Sue,..no I am Roseanne Barr's body double..maybe we are triplets...
Hugs everyone.... -
Hi gals! I hope everyone has had a great weekend.
Jankay...loved your male BBQ scenario! How true! It did, however, omit the burnt meat situation that's caused entirely by a grill that flames just too much! :-) Thanks for sharing! I needed that chuckle.
Zazette..the trip pics look wonderful. I'm envious! So glad your results were B9. YEAH!!!!
Angel, I have lots of hobbies. I golf in the summer and bowl in the winter. I love to read and will read about anything I get my hands on. Also, retail therapy is working into another good hobby! :-) I also love yard sales and flea markets. We attended a very unique flea market Saturday night in Wheaton, Illinois. That's right...Saturday night. It was an all night flea market and everyone arrived with head lamps and flashlights and shopped til they dropped. I didn't find alot to buy but the experience was worth the price of admission.
Robin, good luck with your surgery! I'll send good vibes your way. Sometimes things don't really seem fair, do they, but we always find a way to get through and we're often stronger by doing so. Hang in there! HUGS!
Well, have to run. Hope all the rest of you are feeling well and enjoying the day!
Rita -
Just checking in to see what everyone is up to.
Sheri, I never thought about not being able to buy wine at the grocery store. Do you all have Trader Joe's? No, I just did a search on your town and there isn't one within 50 miles - they have two buck chuck - that's the wine that has been winning rave reviews for $1.99 a bottle. They can't keep it in my store. I feel for your friend because I saw mine go through the same thing. This is the one who is very much into church, right? My girlfriend's husband was a minister in his church. Pic worked!
Vickie, where did you find my high school yearbook picture? I didn't realize that was still in circulation!!! LOL. Right, in my dreams.
Lisa, are you having good weather too? I'm doing my cooking for the week - can't stand the "what's for dinner" when I get home at 7:00 from boot camp - my answer of "whatever you are cooking" doesn't cut it. Then I may go prune some roses. I experienced the same thing in Japan - except I had to climb UP because we were on the train - believe me, I held on tight. I always looked for the stalls that said "western toilet".
Back later.
Margaret -
Hi everyone, checking in really quick, need to go back and catch up with the weekend! Looks like I missed a cyber party for Charlene yesterday. Hope it was a grand one girlfriend. You too, Shirley, WOW fancy dinner with hubby, maybe he really really missed you!
Went to my friends house for the weekend and now need to go catch up. BBL......... Marsha -
Margaret..one of my friends was married after college in the early sixties and she was to join her husband who was stationed in Korea..they had no base housing so she said she would go there if he could find a place with a flush toilet...well, he said, " sure honey, I rented a place with a flush toilet come on over...," so she did... she didn't realize there were two meaning of the word flush..flush also can mean even with the ground...that is what she got!!
-
OK, I just lost the post!!!!!!!!!!! It wasn't that long and it didn't take me that long to write it - ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sheri, we have "dry" areas of counties. We are dry but can drive 10 minutes into another county and buy liquor, wine and beer. Go to the mountains, one town in a county you can find an ABC store and beer and wine in grocery store. Another part of that county, can't find beer in grocery store but at a little motel where they have their office and sell a few items, well you can buy beer there. Figure that one out - crazy!!
Charlene - glad you had a good birthday. Hope you have lots of special days in the year ahead. Good lunch with the FIL visit; I would be aggravated too.
Susan - you are NOT a looser. I have no idea of your age but if you are anywhere close to 50, well, unfortunately our age and our health make a difference. It isn't you or anything you have done, OK!!!
Mena is moving? Where, why - anyone???
Ok, gonna go back to the sofa for the physical rest and see if I can get myself mentally ready for a Monday.
Sue, SoCalLisa, sorry, I have Rosanne's body. Quads maybe??
Hope everyone that is feeling bad physically or emotionally has had a better day. Hugs to everyone (I pray this one isn't lost in cyber space ) Brenda -
Good afternoon CG's,
The wagon circle seems to be quiet this weekend. Wishing our b'day girls a very happy birthday = Charlene and Shirley - I hope your b'days were everything that you wanted them to be. Wishing you many more happy b'days.
Cy - hope you are feeling better soon. Hugs.
Gina - are you feeling any better? ugh - stomach flu or food poisoning - that stinks either way. Hugs.
Vickie - hows the headache - enough already! hugs
Sheri - glad your school year is off to a good start
Beth - hope the yeast infection clears up quickly
Susan - so sorry about tahe job - you are a winner (not loser). Hugs.
Margaret - yes you are gorgeous.
Shel - hope you get to meet tricia.
Tricia - loved the bathroom story and how true about girlfriends.
Nicki - how was the wedding? how are you feeling?
Z - glad that you had a good trip.
DH and I are going out on a date tonight. Leah is home for two more days and we figured we would take advantage of her. We are going to go to a movie (if we can decide on one) and out to dinner. Craig won a dinner out on the company, so we only have to pay for the movie. Restaurant is our choice and he puts the dinner on the company credit card. I ususally don't like to go out Sunday nights, but we are going out early. Last week was a busy week and by friday I was just exhausted. After synagogue yesterday I came home, we ate lunch then I took a three hour nap and still went to be early. Stamina just isn't what it used to be.
Seems like lots of gals (and Peter) are missing. Wishing everyone from A to Z a good night, sweet dreams and a good day tomorrow. Hugs from Denver, Karen -
Hey girls. I need some prayers and good thoughts coming this way. My sister is in the hospital with a large abscess in her abdomen. It may have started on her ovary or in the fallopian tube .not sure, but it is about the size of her fist. She is on IV antibiotics to see if she has any improvement or if they will need to do emergency surgery. I, of course, am totally freaked out that it is cancer in her ovary. Can you get canceritis by proxy??? I know it is silly, but that is where my mind goes .Anyway, say a little prayer for my Sis, Bobbi.
Deb C -
Deb, prayers for Bobbi.
I slept late today and am now off to the late mass(6pm) It is a youth mass, I guess for all of the teens that like to sleep in. Will I ever grow up? lol.
I will keep you all in my prayers while there. -
Hi,
I am just dropping in to say hi. It has been a while since I have been here and I wanted to let everyone know I have not forgotten about this thread. I am a few hundred pages behind as always.
I do not come to the boards as much I used to. I have started doing things I enjoyed before BC like watching movies and reading books and taking walks with friends. I have to grab these "normal time" activities while I can because it can change so quickly.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Lorene -
Hi Shirley, welcome home and happy birthday to you.
Deb, saying a prayer for Bobbi.
It is so nice to see sunshine again after over a week or rain. Hoping all my Chicago area sisters are drying out (from the rain, that is), which might require varying amounts of alcohol.
Hi Peter, hope you havea good week.
Wishing everyone a great week full of peace, love and good health.
Cherryl -

CY
Most days I feel like this... -
Evening girls, and Peter. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was pretty darned busy, trying desperately to get everything done that I need to do before I leave on Thursday for the UK.
Ribs are really hurting now from all the coughing. I think I have indeed broken one. Then to add insult to injury, I got up in the middle of the night last night, didn't switch on the light and tripped over my shoes and twisted my ankle.
I really don't need this right now LOL
Shirley: happy birthday my dear! Glad you got home safe and sound.
Deb: sending prayers for your sister.
CY: sorry you have not been feeling good hon. Prayers and hugs! Hope you feel better soon.
Susan: Don't settle for just any job hon - the job you really want is out there and worth waiting for.
I have already forgotten half of what I just read - grrr!
Oh well, never mind - you all know that my best wishes and prayers are with you all from A-Z.
Hugs and chocolate xxxx
Elaine -
Hi Happy Sunday night!!
Susan - you are not a loser. The great job you are supposed to get is not available--but it will come you way and will be worth waiting for. Thanks for letting me know you had the same knee surgery. The doc said I should be out of work for 3-4 weeks-- I said--"hell,no". Others I have talked to said they were only out for 2-3 days. How was it for you?
Cy- hope you are feeling better tonight. We know each other from the CMF thread.
Margaret- cool- do let me know when you come this way again.
Shel- have fun in the Keys--heard it's gorgeous there.
Vickie--wow--your DD on the way back from cruise already--seems like she just left.
Shirley-- we have met in the chat room. What is the Chemo Angel program... sounds interesting.
Tricia--love your post and oh so true!
Rita-- so glad to see you here. welcome! Oh and I love yard sales too.
Lorene-- nice to meet you.
Choca -- ouch!! take care of that ankle. Ice it as much as you can.
My love to all from A to Z. Gosh, I am getting better at this.
I love all the pics and cartoons and such you all post here. How do you do that? I have tried photobucket but with no success.
Hugs and prayers,
Candie
