Has anyone else experienced lower back pain as a side effect of Herceptin? I, like most of the others who have posted on this forum, seem to keep a constant runny nose. However, I seem to be having a mild discomfort in my lower back kind of like it feels when you are starting a period. I am also on Abraxane. Any advice would be appreciated!!

I have recently started to have a lower back ache, as you described, like i've been lifting things all day. I've been on herceptin only now for about 8 months. Back pain can be so vague i'm not sure if it can be from herceptin, but just found it interesting that you're posting this and i'm feeling the same thing............

I have been on Herceptin since january and I don't think I have any back pain. I can't say that I haven't had any but if I have, I am not aware of it. But then with chemo brain I can't remember a lot. If I notice any pain I will poat and let you know it. I do have the runny nose though. Drip Drip. . .

I have been on Herceptin for 4 years with no back pain. I would wonder about the Abraxane as it can cause muscle aches.

I have been on Herceptin since January and I have noticed back pain from day 1.  Thought it was left over from chemo (taxotere was harsh on my body) but maybe it's Herceptin.

Am also on Arimidex which might be the culprit.

That was odd - the post did not move and so I thought I must not have submitted it.  Took the opportunity to amend a typo and lo and behold two posts arrive as if by magic.

I started having low back pain while on herceptin. My onc put me thru numerous tests to see the problem. There was absolutely no reason for this pain.Well here i am over a year later and i am still having the same horrible pain. And still no explanation for it.They will not even give me anything for this pain, which i never had before bc,because they say it is not cancer related. I feel like i have been given the short end of the stick all the way around. Not only was my body totally mangeled at 27 but i half to deal with this ugly pain forever. They say since there is no evidence they have nothing to treat.

Assume you've sought treatment from a chiropractor or physical therapist? I'm tall and have a long history of back trouble (sort of like hip troubles for big dogs). But I've gotten good results from chiropractic. I'm nervous about using an acupuncturist because of the lymhedema risk for skin punctures, but there's good evidence that it's very effective. Also, have you tried yoga?
