good friend needs a biopsy! - prayer request

A good friend that I teach with is facing having biopsies for "calcifications" here as we get ready to start a new school year. This is the same thing I was facing as we were going through the opening of school two years ago.

I'm glad that I can be there for her to answer her questions about what to expect as far as procedures go, but it just breaks my heart to think that someone else might have to go through this journey. Please help me pray for her that her tests will come back B9.

    You got it, Mrs Bee. My candles are lit at this moment for Valerie Livesstrong on these boards as she faces the same challenge over the next few weeks. I will add your friend's needs to my prayers and indeed everyone who is going through this awful part - the waiting for procedures and results and all its attendant anxieties and fear.

    MrsBee- I know what she is going through, its been a year for me since I was dx and I just had my yearly mammo only to find I have a cluster of calcifications in my "good" boob. I have to wait till Sept. 11th for my biopsy.

    So, that being said, I will must definitely keep your friend in my prayers and hope to God see hears that lovely word - B9.

    I had several women here at work with calcifications too, but luckily they were all fine. Sorry to hear about your friend, but she might be okay too. I think we just tend to think the worst, after our bc experiences.

    MrsBee--I was diagnosed with LCIS (a non-invasive bc) from microcalcifications 4 years ago today. Fortunately LCIS doesn't require chemo or rads and I was able to have a lumpectomy. I also take tamoxifen as a preventative and am very closely monitored with mammmos and MRIs (one coming up next week). Calcifications can be indicative of LCIS, DCIS (another non-invasive bc which requires more treatment due to its' potential to become invasive; so sometimes radiation and sometimes mastectomy if it's widespread) or frequently they are totally benign, which is more often the case. So there is a very good chance that there may not be anything but good news. Praying for good results for you friend.
