TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

(((((Cheri))))) .. Where are you my friend? I hope you're doing okay today and just resting.
Madison .. Rabbit Hole? lol I don't get it but I can be dense at times!
Suz .. Sending postitive healing vibes for your son. Has he always had a problem with his eye? Sounds so scary. I'm glad to hear your insurance company helped you find the specialist for him. Good luck with your scan results and your onc appointment next week! Hugs to you.
I feel as you do. It won't stop raining here and I'm sick of it. It's too depressing! One good thing about this time of year other than school starting again..football!!! Glad your sons had fun at the game!
Good luck with WW!
Denise .. I love your style! Well the renal pelvis is the funnel-like dilated proximal part of the ureter in the kidney in which it's major function is to act as a funnel for urine flowing to the ureter from the kidney. (thank you wikipedia). I don't know why mine is flabby but "some just are". lol Oh and I'm hoping to get a response from Nasty Woman before I lay into her! I knew if I started out that way I'd never hear anything. I still don't know if I will though!
(((((CY))))) .. 3 hours in the dentist chair, that's just not right! Please get some rest, you must need it after all you've been up to!
Nicki .. thank you! Food night to you too. Man, everyone is making me hungry!
Vickie .. awww, thanks for spoiling my babies, they can use some of that these days! I bet Nate would be great with a baby sister! I hope you don't have anything too serious. Get some rest sweetie.
(((((Liz))))) .. I'm sorry, I just love what Deb said to you about wrapping up a laugh and sending it your way.
Sheri .. So sorry about the part. Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise since you said you weren't sure you had the time? I know, not what you want to hear. Another door will open...
Odalys .. OMG, I never even considered that people wouldn't recognize me at the party because of my new avatar! No need to apologize, you had a lot on your mind! Just so glad you and your sister are B9!!! Yes, it Is the horse woman's business. So far I've filed with the BBB and am going to push her tomorrow for a response to my email. We'll see what happens!
Yes, write the letter to "Overhaul", that would be too cool if your DH got selected!
((((( Deb ))))) .. You sure have a way with words. Sometimes just getting it all out helps so much. Sick and tired of being sick and tired is my motto too! Love the last line of your post, I'm sure we can all relate so well to that one!
Susan .. thank you. Did you happen to talk to Cheri? She disappeared today, a little worried but hoping she's just sleeping. She must be exhausted.
Brenda .. oh that's Sooo frustrating losing posts! I want to send some of my cooler temps to you as well, along with some of this rain!
Karen .. I'll send some cooler temps your way too if I could. I don't know how you had fills the same day as chemo! Funny how some people have more cc's added to feel better and others have some removed. I'm up to 280cc's right now and will have one or two more of 60cc's each. I'm happy to hear that so far things are even for you. The 24/7 bra sucks sometimes, especially in the heat. I've been doing that since my mastectomies in March! Hang in there, eventually you may be able to go braless! It sounds like Noah is a good candidate for the GED and then going on to college. Good luck to him! Funny, ever since I went on Tamoxifen I've had this bloated belly that won't go away...some days it's really bad! I'm thin everywhere else but there now (and my renal pelvis!). I used to have a flat belly .. waaah waaahh! Somedays I honestly look pregnant the bloating is so bad. Maybe next specialist should be the gastroenterologist! lol
Marsha and Casino Girl .. the diving sounds so cool and peaceful to be looking at all the underwater sea life! I know I'm beyond ever doing such a thing in my life time now!
Tricia .. You're having fills with no pain? I envy you! Is your surgery in October for the exchange already? My PS says I have to wait a minimum of 3 months after I'm done with my fills for that. We won't even schedule it until I'm sure I'm done!
Margaret .. Have you no mercy? LOL I'm going to Have to go get me some of that tri-tip now! Is that the same as what we call sirloin tips? I Love them!
Christine .. I need to learn how to do cliffnotes! lol Glad the check is in hand and now repairs can begin.
MB .. time got away from me today. Starting my stretches tomorrow, I promise!
Well I'm so exhausted and tomorrow (today actually) I go for my transvaginal ultrasound with my GYN in the afternoon. Sigh...if it's not one doctor appointment it's another! Going to try and get a good nights sleep as I hope everyone here from A - Z does!
Love&Hugs,

Thank you for the welcome, Angel. I'll have to hover, seems you all know each other. Husband has been getting upset as I spend too much time on the puter lately. This after the treatment's over is more difficult than I ever imagined. It helps so much to find support here; but it's sad too.
Looking for smiles, need to laugh; keep hoping I'll wake up and be me again. Oh lovely, thunder and rain in Ohio.
I love it!
Indi (my wagon wheel is broken) -
Good Morning Sisters
Have been reading all of your posts and there seems to be a lot of good news at last around the circle. Have been reading all the posts but seem to have trouble concentrating at the moment, so have not posted much myself.
Would just like to wish you all from Amy to Z a great Wednesday today and hope the good reports and news continues for all.
Any Sisters that are still having problems I only hope that things are on the improve very shortly
Very glad that Hurricane Dean appears not to have caused problems for any of my sisters
Keeping everyone and their families in my thoughts and prayers
Take care and with a bit of luck and a good nights sleep I can get back to replying to your posts as I should

Good Morning Everyone: Well we did it. We made one our one year anniversary. I had to look back, mine was the 5th post on August 22, 2006 at 6:06 am. Almost very close to the time I signed on this year. It has been a good first year. Made many friends, the wagon circle just got bigger and bigger, lots of support, lots of laughter. We have been through all 4 Seasons and survived. So t this point, I just want to thank all of you who have been there so many times for me. It was a god walk around the circle this morning. Lots are you are still sleeping. The ground is wet from a recent storm, but it still feels like summer - even though a small scnet of Fall is in the air.
I see my PCP this morning at 10:30. Gotta have fasting blood work, so my coffee is black. Yuck! I can see now that each day I wake up I feel better. I actually slept through the whole night last night. Woke up and went WOW - I slept right through. Havent done that in a very long time.
Peter : Good morning to you. Loved your picture. I have so lost track of time since Ive been off. I had to rub my eyes to realize it is Wednesday.
Indi: When each of us walked into this circle we didnt know everyone. The circle has grown and so have the friendships. Your husband saying you spend too much time on the computer? Boy that sounds familiar. One of the things about the circle is that at least we all understand how we are feeling - so many family members, friends, and caregivers dont just get it. Those feelings you have inside - they are real. Seems like most everyone thinks now that treatment is over you should be just fine - life back to normal - NOT! So again, welcome to you. Im just sitting down by the campfire having my first morning cup of coffee.
Madison: How is that hole looking this morning?
Charlene: I got my fills the same time I was getting chemo, but never on the same day. That would have been too much for me to handle. Every doctor is different. My PS made me wait 1 month before he would do surgery. Goodluck with your doctor appointment this afternoon.
Christine: Let the remodeling begin!!
MargaretB: That silver dress sounds pretty. I had a dress once that was a sparkly blue. It was floor length. Brought it in and they shortened it and put slits on the sides - ended up looking like a new sexy blue dress. Im gettting nervous and the wedding is in 4 days. Worried that because its gonna be out on Lake Michigan at night, it might be cooler than I thought. Also hoping my PCP says its all right to go to it. I definitely pulling that dusty old credit card out of my wallet and getting my hair done. Thinking tomorrow or Friday - depending on how Im feeling.
pbd: I am so glad that your fills are going well. The thing I remember most after the exchange was "they are so soft."
CherylG: Just standing here waving at you and hoping you have a wonderful day.
Denise: I think the weight loss you had is making you stronger both physically and mentally. Thats good. Did your cholesterol go down like that alone, or did you have some medicine to help lower it.
Vickie: Good Morning Sunshine Sister. Hoping that migraine is gone and that you are feeling better today.
Odalys: Definitely write the letter. What a nice surprise that would be for your DH.
DebC: You said it well. Im feeling the same way. ER/PR negative here also, so no medications to make me feel the way I do. I have enjoyed walking and swimming this past summer, but havent really lost any weight and now Im wondering what kind of exercise I will be doing when Winter comes. Sending big hugs your way.
Brenda: I couldnt stand it being that hot for so many days in a row. It takes everything out of you. We are having flooding here in Illinois - wish I could send you some of that rain.
Karen: Glad the Effexor is starting to work. They say you should play around with the doses until you find the magic number. Good luck with Noah and him taking the GED. I know lots of people who have done that, went onto college and became very successful.
Liz: Hoping today, something or someone makes you just laugh out loud.
Well - looks like I have enough time for a nap before I head out to my PCP. I was able to talk my DH out of driving me - a relief! So I will catch up with you all later.
Nicki -
Not me I'm up at 3:18 am.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CIRCLE FAMILY!
lini -
Ahahaha Lini! Good morning to ya. So there is a 2 hour difference between us. I went back at read some of the first posts from last year. You were one of the original group also. My goodness, this year went by fast.
Nicki -
Just a quick note to wish everyone a happy anniversary. What an awesome group and what a great idea Gina had to create this support circle. Thank you for welcoming me into the group and for all that you share each day.
May God continue to bless all the circle friends and family.
Indi and all those who have just joined us, Welcome. I sure hope you like it here. Don't worry about keeping track of all of us. You will soon get to know us.
Oops...got to run, work awaits. Have a great day!
Love and hugs to all, -
Happy Anniversary Circle Girls!!
I wanted to wish the circle a Happy FIRST YEAR
before leaving for work today
This poem was my first post in the circle.
Courage is easy when a tame horse you ride
When rivers are low and no clouds fill the skies,
But thats not the test that must really apply
And there wont always be tame horses to ride.
When the winds from the northwest, its teeth filled with snow,
And the temperature is dropping with each hour of the blow,
And youre twenty miles from a warm bunkhouse fire,
You freeze where you stop if homes not your desire.
When the water is rising with no way around
And a bunch of stray steers spread over the ground,
Youll have to hold up there till the water goes down
Or force a fording where some may drown.
When the nights are so lonely that there is no familiar sound
And where you are at isnt close to home ground,
Then its what you are made of, what youve seen and learned
That keeps you up and not getting burned.
You can be sure of yourself, the person youve become
When the world drops its load out where you come from.
You wont whine or cry or make an excuse
But face that problem and not let it loose.
The days that will test you are always on the way
And you dont run and hide to avoid the fray.
You grab on the problems and just tan their hide,
You made your own courage and tamed the horses to ride!
Love,
Carrie -
I just got off the phone with JanKay. She still doesn't have a computer and can't post. She's upset to be missing the 1 year anniversary of the circle, so if you have her phone number, I am sure she would be thrilled to hear from any of you today. If you don't have it and would like to call her, PM me and I will give it to you. Marsha
-
Well shoot howdy. I've been up since 5 but its taken this long to read.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ONE AND ALL!!!
St Augustine was grand. Hot as hades but this is Florida, can't expect any less.
School officially started for neice and nephew yesterday. They are home schooled so life just jumped into overdrive. 3 more days and I'll be homebound. So looking forward to my bed and pillow. And a massage. Which will be the first phone call I make monday morning. Should have made an appt before I left. All in all sister and family are doing OK. Life will go on because it must.
Hope everyone has a simply fantabulous day. -
ANNIVERSARY DAY!!!!!!!! My what a year it has been. Gina, I'm sure you didn't have any idea what the circle would become or how it would grow. Most of the folks that posted on the initial page are still in the circle or here at BCO. Many have weathered storms/sunshine, smiles/tears but everyone is still standing.
Girls here is a list of the posters from the first page, I think you will recognize the names: Gina,(of course) Nicki, Rhymee, Memberoftheclub, Trixiegram, Fancy, PhoohRN/Vicki, Jill, Bessie, tgirl, Susan, Sharon, Carrie, Cheryl158, Doreen, Fitztwins, Deb, Me/Brenda, Lini, Margaret, Grubby9Kathy) Amy, LauriS, Shel, Vicki.
In going back and reading and seeing the names, it sure is a walk down Memory Lane. I can't tell you what an amazing experience it has been this past year and looking at these names - well memories of sad, happy, worried, anger at BC women. They made us family.
May the good Lord bless each of you as you face the day. Happy Anniversary Circle Girls.
Love ya, Brenda -
Morning all. Happy anniversary to us. Where has the time gone - one year already.
Lisa, I am co-President of the non-profit I volunteer for - now that you mention it, I think there was a bathroom break!
Christine, boy, a lot of work needs to be done to repair the house. Thank goodness your insurance covered it. Think how nice it will be when it's done.
Charlene, good luck at the gyn today.
Indi, it doesn't take long to get to know everyone. You just jump in and say hello and start reading. I will tell you that you do end up spending a lot of time on this thread but if you don't have a support group, you don't need one if you come here. It's sad that cancer has brought us together but we stay here because we like each other.
Peter, hoping you are getting a good night's sleep - I myself don't know what that's like recently.
Nicki, I'm leaning toward the silver dress and getting a spray tan. I think it would look great with some classy silver shoes. And think of the money I'd save. Course, I really like the dress I ordered too but we'll have to see if it fits.
Lini, what were you doing up at 3:18?
Carrie, glad you dropped in.
Margaret -

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Thank you for lifting me up and helping me through this journey. I'm so proud to be a part of this family. I love you all!
Sue -
Just dropping in quick to say HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO THE CIRCLE!!!!
Gina - thank you so much for starting this circle. It is such a great place to come to for support when no one else "gets it". Please let us know what we can do to help you.
Deb - this is the place to come "whine" - we all understand. As for exercising, is there a heated pool somewhere that you could use? Does not have to be heated but it is more comfy. They just built a new gym near my house with a heated pool. It was the pool that got me to join the gym and start exercising. It is sooo much easier on your joints and supposedly good for LE too because of the water pressure. You can get a pretty good workout and it actually feels relaxing. I am one year out of treatment and still don't have the energy I had pre-bc. My onc says it takes up to 2 years to feel back to your old self. Most of us had dose dense and that stuff really knocks you for a loop, not to mention the radiation added on to that. I think the stress of all we have been through also plays a big part.
Denise - my son had his eyes examined a couple of years ago and we were told he had this condition but that there was nothing they could do for it. In some instances it goes so far and does not progress and in other cases it does. Went back to same doctor and now told it has progressed to the point where he may need a cornea transplant. I don't think the current doctor knows too much about the condition so hoping the cornea specialist will have other options besides a transplant.
Karen - my younger brother was a lot like Noah and took the GED and passed with one of the highest scores they had ever seen on the test and is doing just fine. I agree, for some school just does not make sense, and Noah is right once he gets to college no one will care whether he has a high school diploma or a GED. Glad tweaking the Effexor dose seems to be helping.
Margaret - two dresses that's good - always like to have choices. The silver one sounds very pretty. I am afraid to buy clothes or shoes online - hate sending things back if they don't fit. My dd does it all the time and has had great luck.
Nicki - We had a big storm around 2 am with lots of thunder, lightening and wind, woke everyone up. Just looked out the window and the sky is blue and the sun is shining, first time since Saturday so that is a good sign. Will pray that the weather warms up around here for the wedding this weekend, make sure you take a wrap in case it does get chilly on the water - not sure what kind of boat but maybe there will be something inside. Anyway sounds like it will be fun.
MB - missing your hill too.
Shirley - Stopped in St. Augustine one year when we went to Florida - beautiful - one place in Florida I would like to go back and visit. Glad sis family is doing okay -must be hard, but life does go on.
Peter - I can sympathize with the inability to concentrate. I have been having trouble with that since chemo. Not fun. Used to be an avid reader but just can't concentrate these days. Hoping that someday it will get better.
Christine - wow, lots of work to be done on your house.
Odalys - write that letter! That would be so cool if he was chosen.
Okay, time for me to get some work done. BBL.
Love and hugs to all from A to Z,
Suz -
I believe in angels,
The kind that heaven sends,
I am surrounded by angels,
But I call them friends.
- Aizabel Parinas -
Thank you Gina, for starting all this and to everyone else for making me feel so warmly welcomed and like family. You all hold a special place in my heart!
Love&Hugs
Charlene -
BTW Odalys..we are into cars too..not fancy ones but still...anyway...my Dh & Son once said that that would be cool, but the don't always restore they customize..so please be sure he wouldn'g mind a not so original car...lol...not that any of the boys cars would mind...lol...
but go ahead he is sooo worth it
MB -
Oh Indi ...
I'm relatively new here myself, only having been part of the circle for two months. But it doesn't take long to get to know everybody! I understand what you're saying but this is a great place to come for how you're feeling. You'll find a lot of smiles, laughter and understanding here! My SO understands that this is where I need to be a lot of time, with other women who get it. I wish your DH could see that. -
Karen, many places one has to be out of school for one year before they are allowed to take the GED, depends on the state ruling maybe.
Deb, I so know how you feel with the fatigue. I wanted to come to Pinkstock but just knew I couldnt keep up with the rest of you. I have been diagnosed with CFS and oncologist told me last week that the 2 major surgeries I have had this year are contributing to it also. If I had a family I wouldnt be able to take care of them. I spent the majority of my time on the sofa or in bed when I am not working. I am also having pain in my hips, he said the nerve ending are waking up and the pain can generate to the back as well as the front . this seems to be unending. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Liz, as I have said before, I used to work for hospice and they are wonderful. They make it so much easier on the family. Criteria has to be met to go into hospice but that doesnt mean they are at the end of their life. We had many that had been in over a year. I would never recommend a feeding tube, we had patients that knew nothing, just lying there getting fed that is not living!
Odaly . write that letter and congrats on the b9 dx for you and your sister.
Cheri, welcome home and hope this infection is soon cleared up
Sheri, dont get down over that part, you have overcome bc, they dont know what a woman you are!
Vicki, sorry Nates biological ____ is bothering you, you are the mother, takes more than birth to be a mother.
Wildjan, your new do looks great
Ritajean, welcome, I am new also
Choca, glad you are feeling better
Suz, sorry about your son, hope it turns out to not be as bad as you have been told
Peter, hope you are feeling better . let us know
Jankay, miss your jokes, hope you are able to get online soon
Margaret, you may be older that the others in years but apparently your body is younger than you give yourself credit for because you are keeping up
Christine, do some shopping and get some references . almost all roofing contractors have Hispanics doing the work, and they just get the jobs, maybe you will come across a roofing job and talk directly to the laborers
Angel, one wonders how some people can be so nasty, especially to little children. They must be hurting deeply inside to be so angry.
Indi, we are almost neighbors I live in Indy
MB, maybe one of these days I will come up with neighbor and meet you, as I said previously he has family in Hornell.
Hopefully I will be here for the next Anniversary, I am not good with words and have met some of you but am not in as good a comfort mode as many of you are.
Have a Glorious Day all
Doris -
Happy Anniversary Circle
Hugs to all.........(need to get some work done)
....still time....mailing out tomorrow
Thank you all.....AWESOME -
May We All share this "Special Day" Together every Year!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY EVERYONE!
Its so nice to be able to come here and relate with our cancer problems and other problems that seem to pile up on top. Thank you for making me feel part of the circle even though I havent been here long. I feel like Ive gained a bunch of sisters and thats pretty nice considering my siblings are two brothers, younger and older than me. For some of us there is no place else to let it all hang out and get the support we need from others that have been through BC. Im still glad to be talking to my chemo sisters as that thread is still alive. It seems like ever since went home and seen my relatives all of a sudden the email box is somewhat empty. The family support has slipped ,they make me feel like they think well shes done the treatments shes okay life is back to normal. Kinda like oh shes had surgery and recovered life is fine. Well its NOT fine and its NOT normal, never will be again. Funny thing though, my little brother has been emailing me a lot now and barely had before the trip up there. I guess something clicked while we were together.
I guess I can count my blessings that I do feel a lot closer to normal than I have since this all started after reading what some of you are still going through months later after treatments! I wonder if some of the weight gain has to do with being thrown into menopause as when I started into it about 10 years ago I started gaining weight and have a hard time losing it. Used to be able to eat anything and not gain a pound! During this BC stuff Im gaining even more weight.
I am so excited for my cousin, her son is home safe and sound after a year in Iraq!!! Now he can really enjoy his firstborn who is about 7 months old!
Most of the farmers here make the round bales thus square bales are harder to find making them expensive. We found that out the first year we were here and had hunted down the small square bales that first winter. I have a farmer that is just a city block away from me that bales and stores my hay. He delivers it 8 at a time as I need it and I pay him as I get it. One round bale goes a week for my 3 horses. Plus when hay went up to $85 a bale some years (like last year) he never asked me for more than $12 a bale. His wife died of cancer a few years ago, she raised endurance race Arabians. He got rid of all the horses and just keeps busy supplying hay. He said Im his best customer so doesnt mind working with me. I'm pretty certain the easiest solution is in moving the electric tape fence...
INDI>welcome!
SUZ>so sorry about your sons eye condition! I hope it can be fixed.
LIZ>so hard to deal with your MIL when your hubby isnt on the same page as you!
ODALYS>I think that is a wonderful idea, write the letter! Am so happy for you that both reports were b9!!!!
ALASKADEB>I had to laugh at your last statement , too funny! (This little self centered bitch session has been brought to you by cancer .the gift that keeps on giving .)
BMD>am getting excited about meeting the CA sisters, seeing my son and seeing California. Some of the bikers have been sharing photos of Hwy1 and the cliffs how beautiful!
here's the thread if the sisters here want to see the awesome pics. http://www.gl1800riders.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=91421 -
Ps...anyone else happy to see Terry Fator won America's Got Talent show?

Happy Anniversary everyone. Wow alot has gone on in one year. I was reluctant to post that first day because I wasnt moving beyond at all, I had just been diagnosed with mets and was struggling with my own thoughts but I swore to myself it wouldnt get me. We circled around so many having a hard time and pulled together a great group of women. Thank you Gina, NS.
Deb-I could type word for word what you posted. I am just tired of being tired. So much for trying to not think about cancer when every move you make reminds yourself of it.
Brenda-another 100 degree day here also. Enough already.
Angel-hoping you hear back from your letter and glad you contacted the BBB.
Madison-thank you!
Suz-sorry to hear about your sons eye. Thats just awful.
Vickie-hoping Nates biological mother is behaving now but I also say you should let the judge know just for the record.
Margaret-sounds like a pretty dress and the one from Macys does also. Decisions,,decisions.
Casinogirl-certifiable huh? Me too but been years!
Nicki-glad you are feeling a bit better.
Doris-its a great place to hang out so I'm sure you will be around next year for the 2nd anniversary. I know I sure plan on being here.
Cy-dont forget to rest.
ok not much typing for me this morning. I had a filling come out of a tooth and its killing me. I called for an appointment and I go on Monday because I rather go in the afternoon and not have to miss work but not sure I can make it until Monday. Advil take me awayyyyyyyyyyyyy
Amy -
