I got mine over the weekend. I'm personally RSVP'ing since I have an appt at Moffitt tomorrow.
Can't wait to get together with everyone!!!!
Cathy -
thomcat- good luck at your appt
I received my invitation also. I'll be rsvp'ing this week. Do you want to meet up before or after the conference? Just beening nosey- which sessions did y'all sign up for? I like "discovering your New Normal", "Food For Thought" and "For Women w/Mets" It's a hard decision! -
I hope I can be there I am newly diganosed so if i feel up to it I would love to be there I am stationed at Hurlburt field in Ft. Walton Beach but I live in Navarre!
-
Florik - for any ladies planning on coming to Tampa the night before, I would be happy to invite you all to my place.
I am signing up for "Discovering the New Normal" or "Beyond the Pink" in the morning and "Reclaiming your Sexual Self" or "Getting your Financial Bearings" in the afternoon.
Thomcat, do you live in the Tampa area? If so, you and I live close - I am over the bay in Pinellas County. -
I will be there too and I'm hoping travels workout so that we can meet up. I'll be coming from Ft. Myers.
-
Choca - I live in the Ft Myers/Naples area. I'll be coming up on Fri, the 28th.
I signed up for "Discovering Your New Normal, The ROad to Emotional Recovery" and "What Does It All Mean - From Bench to Bedside......
Look forward to meeting everybody!
Cathy -
Thom have you already booked a hotel? If not you are welcome to stay with me. Same goes for anyone else coming to Tampa for the conference. I live about 20/30 minute drive from the conference.
I'd love you all to come over the night before- we can have a party -
OK Choca...looks like Vickie & I will be in Fl Oct 13th ish...will you be around?...hmm...think I may fly...yikes....would love to meet up if possible...
MB -
Well Ms. MB...my dear girl...here you are...ROFLMAO. I just saw this and thought I'd read up about our Florida girls and let them know that two hillbillys from NY are heading there way and you are already here warning them in advance LOL!
Hi Choca...Might be a few more girls flying in too if we can twist there arm!
Thinking that we may stay at Cocoa Beach (Wakulla Suites) as I have stayed there before and loved it (and it's affordable) but we can make day trips to meet everyone. Also planning on Disney World of course!
I am so pickin excited now!
Vickie -
Vickie we stayed at Wakulla Suites when we had to evacuate here because of a hurricane way back in 1999. The funny thing was, the hurricane missed our side of the peninsula and we got worse weather in Cocoa Beach LOL.
Seriously though, if there are only a couple of you coming down - please consider staying with me instead of booking a hotel - I have 2 spare bedrooms which can sleep at least 2 people in each - more if I get out the air beds. I even have a guest bathroom! I live on the Gulf Coast - and I am not far from Clearwater Beach. Honeymoon Island and its beaches is even closer! The drive from here to Orlando is about the same as the drive from Cocoa Beach to Orlando. Have my own pool too and we are very close to great shopping malls. -
That sounds good Choca...the thing is I will be staying with my dd and a girlfried of hers along with MB and whoever else comes along. Sounds like we need to move our location to the Gulf coast though and that's fine. I loved Clearwater but my daughter wants to go down a bit further...where is the Jimmy Buffett town? We should be able to find something reasonable on the beach as it will be off season and splitting it 4 or 5 ways will work out well. Then you and all the other girls can come hang out with us at the beach too! I know there is a dolphin excursion that goes to an island that I wanted to take when I was in Clearwater before that I really want to do this time.
Oh so many decisions!
off to bed....
hug
Vickie -
Ok, no problem
Please don't change to Gulf Coast just for my benefit though! I'd be happy to come over to Cocoa Beach to visit with you girls.
Re Jimmy Buffett - do you mean Margaritaville?
There is one in Orlando and another one in Key West.
Anyway just keep me posted, and if you need any help from this end, just let me know, o.k. ?
Hugs
Elaine -
Hi FL ladies,
I sent in my conference reply also. Would love to meet up with anyone who's going.
Vickie and MB - Would love to meet up in Oct when you come down. I'm on the Gulf coast too but will go to the other side if that's where you are!
Hugs,
Sue -
Boo - would love to meet you at conference - or even before if you like. It would be good if we could all meet up on the Friday evening before the conference. We could have some fun.
-
Meeting Friday evening would be fine with me. Just tell me when and where. I went to the conference last year and loved it but there is not a lot of free time to socialize. Getting those going together the night before is a great idea!
Sue -
I was there last year too! Definitely not a lot of free time to socialize.
So anyone who wants to get together on Friday evening- please send me pm with an email addy or phone number- so we can arrange something.
Elaine -

Purple, hurricane season runs from June through end of November.
There is always the risk of a hurricane hitting in October, but in my 10 years of experience, we get them mostly in Aug/Sept.
Anyway, don't worry about it. In the unlikely event that a hurricane comes our way- I know the drill - we will simply batten the hatches, hunker down, and have a hurricane party LOL.
BTW my son is 21 - so I am sure he'd be happy to converse/do stuff with any other young men who happen to come along.
Hugs and chocolate xxxx
Elaine -
Elaine...thanks...I told you I never get off the hill...lol..will stock up on blue drinks....
Tim said he doesn't think he'll have vacation time til, end of Oct..so I guess I'll be flying (drunk)...lol...
hugs

I met up with Thomcat today in Tampa. Had a wonderful afternoon.
So here is the general plan for the Moffitt Factors Conference Weekend:
Thomcat and Linapril will be in Tampa around noon time on Friday, Sept. 28. We plan on meeting for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory /International Plaza. Then maybe cruise the Mall. In the evening - PJ- party at my house.
Everyone welcome. Just need to know asap how many will be coming!
Lots of our chat-room sisters will be joining us too. -
Choca... I have a 21 yr old daughter.....Is this for the Sept get together or October one? She is in Sarasota going to college. Nothing like hooking up our kids!!!
-
FLloriK,
this is for Sept, for those going to the The Moffitt Breast Education Conference on Sept. 29 (although everyone else is also welcome, of course) The conference starts very early in the morning, so some people are coming to Tampa on Friday the 28th already. -
A hurricane party...oh now I'm really excited! LOL. Waiting for dd to return tomorrow to finalize the plans and figure out where we will be staying...which can be anywhere as far as I'm concerned as long as there is the ocean and the beach! Can't wait to meet all you lovely ladies!
MB...Talk you son into coming...Nate will keep him safe.
Liz...come on...you soooo need a break...you gotta come. Just imagine the fun we'll have at Disney World!
Hugs all
Vickie -
Choca
Would love to meet for lunch on the 28th. Not sure if I can make it that night or not. I pM'd you my e-mail and phone #.
