Hi, I am a 5 year breast cancer survivor and a 3 year metastatic breast cancer survivor. I am ER+, PR+, Her2+. I had bone mets to my spine in 2005. I have been on Herceptin, Zometa, Faslodex since 1/2005. I have been clean of disease since then. Last week I was diagnosed with mets to my lung. 4 small spots smaller than 1 cm.

My treatment recommendations were to combine Herceptin with chemo (either Navelbine or a Taxane) or to take Lapatinib with Xeloda.

I wanted to hear your stories and your treatment recommendations and why.

I was also considering doing Herceptin, Lapatinib, Faslodex, Lupron/Zoladex. Has anyone tried that combination?

Looking forward to your remarks.

Sincerely,

Dikla

Has any doctor mentioned Tykerb as another option for your Her2+ status? It is an oral pill instead of IV chemo. Maybe some ladies on the Mets forum can provide some details about Tykerb. Best healing wishes, Joann

Just saw this. I have mets to liver. Dx in Jan.right after intial dx. Went on herceptin and navelbine weekly. for 6 months, then herceptin weekly/navelbine every other week, after scan show significant reduction. NOw am finally off navelbine-hercpetin only every three weeks with tamoxifen. Not too many bad side effects from chemo. some nausea, lots of stomach ache, and constipation. Low blood counts was biggest issue, but fixed easily with neupogen. I am soo please with results so far!
    good luck to you
