MOLES

hi,
i am so stressed i went to my so called dr who told me my thyroid was dying out and she did not like the look of the mole on my stomach.
well the thyroid thing comes down that i have to take synthyroid always . i took being raised more. i am on 100 mcg. i am 30 yrs old. well i will always take pills for that but the mole thing has me scared to death. she said i think we need a biopsy on it. she really gave me a bad feeling. before i knew it i had a card for my doctors friend who works with her who is a doctor a appt for him to cut it out. i went aug 6th. i live about 35 miles from my doctor. i know a doctor closer who said he would cut it out soon then my doctors friend which my doctors friend can not cut it out til sept 15th. well i am so nervous to wait so i thought i would get a referral to have the dr i know cut it out . i have been waiting for 4 days for them to call with my appt to the dr i want to cut it out. i could not get in touch with my dr in no way so i kinda lost it. i was outside when she was leaving. she kinda acted like i was being crazy for worrying after telling me she thought it could be cancerous. she did seem shocked i had not received my referral yet but when i ask her does it always take so long she said yes. i am so sick how this doctors office works. i am worried they are mad cause i am not letting their office take my mole off. but i would be crazy if i could get it done sooner. i think they just don't want to refer me to the dr i want them to. ladies i am sorry to go on but all of you have been great the past few yrs helping me and my mom.
have any of you had a mole removed? was it cancerous? what happened? forgive me for going on so much but since mom had bc i worry. i worry i have melanoma or something. i have had the mole for as long i i remember.

I have had moles removed in the past, but the biopsies were always negative. Skin cancer runs on my mother's side of the family, so she and her brothers are on top of all things mole-related.

If a mole suddenly changes in size or color, or becomes irritated, it's time to get it checked out.

Skin cancer caught early is very beatable.

My advice - don't panic, but do follow up!

I've had lots of moles removed and all were negative. Agree with all of the above info. Deep breath!
Just do the follow up, have it removed and ck'd.

My brother-in-law has had numerious moles removed over the past 6 years and only 1 was cancerious and on that one after the gp removed it he was sent to the surgeon that did my and my mother's surgery to get clean margins. He had that one removed 5 years ago and he is doing great, just close checks on all the other moles that he has.

2 years ago I had one removed. My dermatologist looked at it and said, "This is highly suspicious. We need to remove this and biopsy it." I was also nervous. Turned out completely B9.
