Heart problems from herceptin, anyone? Need advice

I am half way through my herceptin treatments and after the last one, I went to emergency to inquire about major heart palpitations and heart skipping.They could see it on the monitor and I could literally feel when my heart was about to skip and then beat hard. I had another muga and it was perfect.... The doctor wants me to wear a heart monitor for 48 hours but neither the GP or the oncologist really understand since my muga is good. I have done some reading on Herceptin and there appears to be some more concerns coming out about heart toxicity.

I have skipped one treatment and really nervous about continuing....

    The heart problems associated with Herceptin would likely have shown on the MUGA.

    Why don't you see a cardiologist. Not all skipped beat patterns are bad. Sometimes this happens with excessive caffeine,stress and fatigue. Sometimes the thyroid is malfunctioning. Sometimes the irregularities are serious but usually you would have other symptoms like shortness of breath,sweating and weakness. If it is often then a 24 hour monitor is a great test.

    Hopefully you can continue on with the Herceptin.
