Bras
I have a couple of questions to ask.
Frist I have been wearing a regular bar with nitty titties in them. I had a bilateral done. I am always pulling the bra down as it tends to ride up other than that I like this arragemnet.
But I had decided to go and get a fitting and check out what is out there for fake boobs.
So my 1st question is do you still have the same problems with you bra after a fitting?
My second question is does anyone have a suggestion for weighing down the nitty titty?
Any other suggestions for the fitter or questions I should ask.
Thanks
Denise

Mine doesn't ride up because it is heavy like my natural side.
Soon I won't need a bra at all....Here I come PC. -
Hi- Have you checked out the sassybax bras- they are great with the knitty titties. I wear the ones that are like a camisole. They don't rideup and the are high enough under the arms to take care of dog-ears. I wore a black one with a front button blouse- unbuttoned enough to showoff a little of the camisole. It looked pretty hot for an old lady with no boobs!

Denise, my knitty is weighted and have no problem with it riding up...just don't use metal ...lol..you'll set off the detectors ....
I used a small river rock in mine...smooth and just the right weight...

what's a knitty titty?

When you get fitted see if they drop your band size.
It turns out a properly fitted bra fits tighter around the chest than most of us are used to.
That may help.

The cancer center I go to has a little shop that sales prothesis, wigs, scarfs, etc. Its nice private place that you can get fitted in without any embarrassment. When I got fitted after my MRM I was so surprised at how well my bra fit. It fit better then any bra I had ever worn in my life. (No kidding.) It was NOT tight around my chest or anything. So comfy. The first false titties used road up a bit...the fitter didn't like that the minute she saw it so gave me a *weighted* one. It is awesome. So comfortable against the skin and never rides up. But it IS heavy. But it truly does not bother me at all. In fact I just recently had profolactic mastectomy on my other side and I've been lazy and didn't go by the shop to get a matched set. So *that side* rides up. I need to get another weighted one. Its the only way to go in my opinion. Make sure you go to someone that DOES this all the time...its makes a BIG difference.

I have seen on this board talk about the 'knitty titty'. I would like directions on making them. I think my mother would like one, if I can make it droopy like her real one.

Hi my name is Marie and I lost my right breast to cancer some 20year ago it hard all the time to find the right clothes to wear you when I found out that I had cancer and to have the surg. well I was okay with the government took care of all of bras and the fake breast that I needed to wear. But they cut me off of TENNCARE and I don't have a bra or the fake breast anymore. I haven't had a breast examine in 4 years I really can't afford it right now so I just dress without any bra or breast on now I feel very uncomfortable when I go in public. Is there way your orgination can help me if not I will understand I don't know just how to fight government on this matter
but it is a shame before to be treated this way I didn't ask to get breast cancer it just something that happen I don't drink are smoke and I never did any drugs. I have 4 grown childrens and 12 grandchildrens I very BLESS to here. 5 years after my breast cancer I had surg. again this I had cancer in my womb so the doctor remove the whole womb. Chelee,
Do you know the name of your weighted prosthesis? I'm always looking for new options that are comfortable against the skin.
3boys4me,
A knitty titty is a knitted breast form with fiberfill inside. It can be weighted with a stone or other small weight. You can see a cute selection of knitted forms at http://www.titbits.ca/v1/tb_home.html
Ivtwqlt, if you go to http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall05/PATTbits.html, you'll find a pattern so that you can knit your own. I ordered a pair from Titbits and find them very comfortable, but they're lumpy-looking under my bra (they might work with a molded bra). Women who knit their own seem to figure out good yarns to use to eliminate that problem.
Denise1962,
I find that I need a little bit of weight in my bra or else it either rides up or constantly feels as if it's riding up. I like Amoena's leisure forms, Style 126, but since they're weightless, I can only wear them in my Still You camisole. Otherwise they ride up. Still You makes a soft, comfy, non-silicone form called Illusions which has just enough weight to keep my bras from riding up. And of course, silicone forms work. I use one with a microfiber back (Airway Tritex) so that I can wear it comfortably right against my skin in regular bras.
