What has your child said r/t your surgery?? cute!
"Mommy, I'm going to fix your boobie".
I tried so hard not to laugh (OR CRY!) while he had at me with the stethoscope and thermometer!!
Hey, maybe some day he'll find the cure!!
God Bless him and everyone else's beautiful children on here too. Kids say the darndest things.

That's hysterical! I have a son who's 5 1/2, and an almost 9 year old daughter. They haven't said anything cute yet, but my son does a better job of examining my mom's arm that is infected with cellulitis from her lymphodema than her doctor does. He examines it from all angles and offers his opinion on whether it's improving or not. It always cracks me up.

Too cute! My daughers are 4 1/2 and almost 3. They thought my losing my hair was interesting, but weren't at all interested in why. When I'm tired, they ask why and I tell them that I take special medicine and it sometimes makes me tired. These simple explanations seem to satisfy them for now. I'm relieved, because one of my biggest worries was how I was going to explain all this to the girls.

My daughter is 5 and was interested in the whole hair loss thing. So i explained i needed to take medicine and that is what made me loose my hair. Well my husband had to have emergency surgery the other day and when I told my daughter she simply said "does that mean daddy is gonna loose his hair too."

When my 15 yr old found out I had IDC she immediately named the tumor "georgie" and said "Mom, Georgie must die!" I said "yep, Georgie must die" and now that i have new boobies and new nips she says, "Mom! Put your bra on! Your headlights are showing!" LOL just thought I'd share it's cuter from 5yr olds but that's the only thing my dd has said about my bc. I worry about her about how she really is coping with this. Thanks for listening.

My 10 yo son had me cracking up a few weeks ago. He was helping me cook some chicken on the grill as I can't get too close to the heat because of my wig. He said - "that's the good thing about wigs - if your hair catches on fire, you can just take it off!" One of the only times I have been able to laugh about anything relating to this disease.

12 years ago when my youngest was 5 she use go to the doctors when I had my cbc inbetween chemos. The she loved the doctor and nurses so much she asked if she could come there when she got breast cancer. She's 17 now and although I still see the same doctor and she still likes him, she obviously feels a little different about the whole thing!

My son turned 5 on 8/5 but he was 3 when I was going through chemo. He used to play in my hair to go to sleep so my hair loss was pretty traumatic for him. He once saw my wig across the room looked a me and said, "Put your hair on your head!"

When I was first diagnosed, my friends and I were stting around discussing my reconstruction options. My nine year old son yelled out "Gosh would you all stop there's a boy in the room" and stomped out of the room. Of course we all had a good laugh over that one.

I recall a post from someone who descibes telling her 2 little ones about her impending hair loss and trying to reassure them. When she asked them how they felt about it, the 5 y.o. said he liked the idea because then he could see if she really had eyes in the back of her head

Another one we were laughing about the other day. During my radiation boost, when they do all the marking on you, my then 5 year old wanted to know if she could draw on the other side!

my son just informed me that my new boobie would be metal, so it could heat up and stay warm. LMBO
I asked what about the cold in the winter?
he had no answer. LOL
