Hello,

My dear friend of over 15 years was recently diagnosed. She is a SAHM with 3 young kids. We lived in the same city until a year ago and now she is several hours away. I'm looking for suggestions on how to help her now that she is so far away.

I've told her that I'm always here, whatever she needs. Her surgery is coming up in just a few weeks. Any ideas of what you've done for friends, family that are long distance? What did someone do for you that helped during this time?

Many thanks in advance!

I think you'll get a lot more responses by posting this in one of the boards that gets more action above.
Try the Newly Diagnosed, Help me thru TReatment or Moving Beyond, I know the ladies there will fill you will lots of good things to help your dear friend.
You are a sweetie to want to help. It's so hard to be far away from those you care about.

Call your friend and tell her how much she means to you, and then ask her what you can do to help. Sometimes phone calls from a friend can do wonders. She's lucky to have you. Kate

Eddie, one thing that would really help is cooking some meals, freezing them, and taking them to her. My sister and I lived 3 hrs from my mom and dad and that's what we did. They appreciated it so much!!! Hope your friend is doing better. Dianne
