Metallic taste with Taxol?

I've just finished AC and getting ready for the change to Taxol. I've heard for many Taxol is so much easier as far as nausea. I'm also wondering about the metallic taste that has been so bad for me with AC. Do you have that with Taxol as well? Does it get worse? I know it sounds petty to be bothered by that, but I have such a hard time eating with that taste constantly in my mouth. I'm really hoping it starts to subside. Thanks for responding!

    I just started Taxol; have done only one dose so far. Big difference between AC & Taxol. I had a couple of weeks between the two, taste buds came back. NO Metallic taste with Taxol. I took nausea meds for 1or 2 day afterwards just to be safe but NO nausea.

    Watch out for achiness. There are a couple of other Taxol threads that you might want to read that will give you lots of good info.

    Kathleen, I am week 9 of 12 weeks of Taxol. After AC Taxol is much better. I have not missed a day of work and had no nausea other then what they give me at treatment I have not taken any meds for nausea. I have started eating more gained some weight!! Advil for the achiness also L-glutine powder form helps with the joint pain. Good luck

    The taste in my mouth with AC was not really metallic for some strange reason, but just plain nasty. I still had a bit of an odd taste in my mouth with Taxol, but it was much better!

    I am so happy to read this about Taxol. I have one more of AC on 7/30 and then 4 cycles of Taxol. If the metallic taste and nausea will no longer be a SE, I'll be one ECSTATIC woman!
    Is it possible to be happy about taking *more chemo? LOL

    I'm also happy to hear that this disgusting taste in my mouth will go away. I had my last AC treatment Monday, June 23. How long did it take for the taste to go away?
