Calcium dosages throught the day

This has aleady been discussed ad nauseum, but I'm gonna ask again anyway cuz I can't remember. I need some "remember" supplements.
How long in between dosages of calcium should we wait? I can't take my calcium for four hours after thyroid meds. So, that gives me a late start. I don't want to waste my calcium since we can only absorb 500 mg at one time. Lord knows these supplements are costing a fortune.

Wow, Shirley! I need a remember pill too.
I absolutely cant change my schedule, it's too complicated now.
Here is how I do my calcium:
my "noon" suppliments contain one Caltrate and one magnesium cap.
Before I go to bed, I eat a Whole Foods large chewable Cal/Mag/Vitamin D tablet.
This is the best I can do.
I also eat a huge nightly salad. The dressing is close to a cup of Fat Free Greek yougurt. With a little olive oil.
So that's my calcium intake.
When winter comes, I'll find another way for the yogurt-on a baked potato?

Shirley,
We're suppose to wait 5 hours between doses taking 500 at a time. Then if your separating mag from cal, you should wait 2 hours.
We need to invent a pill dropper with a clock. Or an alarm clock with multi time rings. -
I have a little yogurt with breakfast and take my D.
I have an Adora after lunch and supper - NEVER miss a dose with this stuff! I look forward to it!! I'll skip it sometimes if I have collards for dinner and have a square of one of my other chocolates instead.... -
Darn, Rosemary, I'll have to make myself a chart for the mag and calcium. I already do that if one of my cats are on meds. And I have to do that if I'm on meds if I get sick like I did after visiting my grandbabies.
Jorf, where do I find Adora? I get a sweet toothe often. Does that help?
Joan, you are making me really hungry for a huge salad. Where do you get the Greek yogurt. Don't say Whole Food's cuz we don't have one.

Shirley, (Trader Joes, I buy it) Greek yogurt is in most supermarkets, I think.Maybe not in as many variaties (FF, low fat, regular, with honey everywhere.)A yogurt company just came out with a Greek yogurt.Called Acadia or something.I'm not that conversant, bc it costs over $4.00 for a regular sized cup.
My point is that Greek Yogurt is catching on!
(If you cant find it, Greek Yogurt is just regular yogart which has most of the whey removed.
You can treat regular yogurt as if making yogurt cheese: line a small-mesh strainer with cheesecloth, or even a big coffee filter.Plop in as much yogurt as you want, let it drip out the whey until it's creamier.(Save the whey if you want--put strainer over a bowl.)
For my huge salad, I sprinkle oregano on the yogurt. And cut fresh oregano and basil into the greens.MMMMMM!
Have fun! -
Shirley---I've read that calcium is best absorbed when taken 12 hours apart, so I take mine after breakfast and then again at bedtime. (600mg calcium with 400 Vit. D each time).
-
I've been taking 400 mg three times a day. Twelve hours apart won't get it. I could up it to 600, but they say one can't absorb more that 500 mg at one time.
