Not happy with prosthesis

Sorry your prosthesis isn't working well. Have you had it for less than 30 days? If so, you could probably exchange it. Some forms are designed to resemble a mature breast and have more sag in them. But even more important, you want something comfortable. I hope others will come along with more suggestions.

I sure understand the problem Gracie.
My first fitting was for an Amoena form. Although I loved the soft feel of it and it did drape well, it sat too high in my mastectomy bra and I had quite the uneven nipple line.
At this time, I am experimenting with others. Nearly Me advertises a prosthesis for the more mature breast, (guess that means droopy!?) I did order it and was pleased with the shape but found the silicone wasn't as soft as I like.
Probably the best result I have had is with a breast enhancer and if I remember correctly, it is made by Little Secrets. I will check if you are interested --- it is VERY "real" to the touch and works perfectly in an ordinary sports bra. I have a small frame and my remaining breast is is either a 36B or 38A. Too bad they don't make size 37A and it would be perfect.
I have tried so many different forms and bras and now have an interesting collection. Will donate some of this stuff when the time is right
Good luck Gracie. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'll post the info. on the Nearly me prosthesis. There's a picture of it on the web site.

I just got my Amoena self adhesive breast form. I LOVE IT! It sticks to your chest wall (that was a concern for me.....but so far .....so good!). What I like about it is how it feels like my other breast. My other Amoena silicone form sits in my bra pocket....which feels like you are carrying it rather than wearing it....which is exactly what we do when they are in a pocket. I will continue to wear both...but I really like this one you stick to your chest wall. When I am hot I will just wear my 25 dollar foam insert.

I have the Amoena contact lite (some women have press on nails, I have a press on boob!). I love it when it's cool out, but when it's hot, forget it. It also seems to lose the stickiness after a few months, but I found that if I give it a little "vacation", and don't wear it every day, the stickiness gets better. It would probably be ideal if I had two so I could do one week on, one week off. I also use wardrobe tape or fashion tape (double sided tape) to help it stay in place. After reading some of Barbara's posts about how much she likes her Amoena 126 leisure forms I got one and love it. Most forms are too concave for me and I have to fill in the hollow place to avoid "boob farts" and that squished look when someone hugs me, but the Amoena 126 is cloth covered, so it works better for me.

Hi Gracie,
Did you go to a fitter? I ask because when I went my fitter had me try on lots of them so that we could find the right one. Everyone is different. I remember trying on the light ones thinking I would like them but they did not work for me. I ended up with one made by ABC (American Breast Care) and absolutely love it! I remember my fitter mentioning to me that as I get older I may want to change to a different kind so that it matches my other side when physical changes happen as I age.
If you did not go to a fitter or are not happy with what they recommended look into a different person. You may be able to find one through your insurance company, a search on the internet or your phone book. If you were in NJ I would recommend mine. She is fantastic! -
You might also want to try different bras. When I wear a little nothing bralette type, the form is sometimes a little "perkier" than the real thing and I end up tightening the strap to pull the real one up, but in a more structured molded cup bra, it's more even. Also, the Amoena contact lite that sticks to your chest, can be placed where it should balance out your other breast.
