My name is Pam. My mother has been diagnose with BC stage IV.
I am looking for an online support group consisting of BC daughters/sons. To discuss a myriad of topics related to this situation: everything from coping with the diagnosis, being supportive during treatment, how to cope, during/after treatment, etc., etc.
So, if you are a BC daughter/son, stop by introduce yourself, and tell us as much about you and your SO as you'd care to share.
Pam
Greg, I want to thank you for giving me the ideas to start this post. I hope you do not mind me using your ideas and words.

Hi Pam,
First of all I want to thank you for starting this post what a wonderful idea!
My name is Christina and my mom was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer a little over a year ago after being in remission for 12 years. I look forward to speaking with you and others about coping with BC.
Christina -
there is a wonderful website for this support. it is called riprap.org

Hi, Pam I want to thank you for starting this post also.
My mother was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer with mets to the liver, and recently to the bone in December 2005, amazingly she is doing very well considering what she is going through. I look forward to speaking with everyone. -
Hi Pam,
Mom was originally diagnosed 4 years ago. The past 2 years it spread to her bones, the past two months, her lungs and lymph nodes. She is quite the fighter though. Thank you for starting this. -
My mother was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer with mets to the bones. It is very sad to know that she have this illness that will eventually take her life. I am beside myself with grief. I feel bad for my 20 year old sister that been the closes to mom. Right now I am taking care of my schizophrenia brother because mom no longer could take care of him. Not only do I have to deal with mom illness I got to deal with my brother.
It has not been an easy road I hope there will be a light at the end of this road -

My mom had scans today and will get the results on Friday, she has been stable for a year but has not felt great lately so of course I worry. How do you get through the waiting?
-
We're waiting for scan results too. We'll find out on Wednesday. Mom is having a wonderful day today, probably the best in over two months. We're just enjoying it. I try to not think about the results and just take it day, by day (sometimes hour by hour). Hope you hear good news.

My situation is my daughter with BC. She is mentally disabled and unable to speak. She does not understand she has BC.
She had a masectomy and auxilliary clearance. She had over 20 positive nodes and was put on Tamoxifen. She has had no chemo and radiotherapy because she couldn`t cope with them but I am glad to say she is doing brilliantly praise God and eighteen months later NED. She has not been able to have any scans only an ultrasound and chest x-ray and they came back clear.
As my daughter doesn`t understand her situation it feels like I have been the one going through it except I haven`t had the physical pain but mentally I have had all the feelings she would have had for her.
love Katz and Sarah
