New bra

I just bought what I thought was a good bra, from a very well known store here, advertised as a post mastectomy bra, with the little pink ribbon on the box (how I hate this symbol)
I admit I was in a rush, and didn't really need to try it on, as having had a bilat, there isn't really much to fit, is there?! I took it out of the box, saw it was quite a pretty, firmish bra, the price was decent, so I dashed off with it.
Got home, looked closer, and the pockets are in the TOP quarter of the cup, about 6"x 2", just enough to get a small size chicken fillet in!! Absolutely NO chance of a full blown prosthesis going in there at all.
I have made my own pockets today, but I was mad at buying what was advertised as a 'post mastectomy' bra. I have emailed the firm responsible, as they are sold worldwide, but whether my sharp little note will have any bearing on them altering the bra, and putting in full sized pockets, seems pretty hopeless.
Isabella.

    Isabella,
I was looking through old posts and found yours. I have never found a mast bra that I like. I think that if you aren't too big, it's just as easy to sew a pocket into a regular bra and be done with it. I found "bralettes" that maidenform, jockey, and hahnes make. They are too sheer to provide enough coverage for my remaining breast, so I wear two of them. I sewed them together and I can then slip the breast form in between the two bras and it stays in place. The jockey runs very small. I am a 34 A/B, and I wear a large! Check the different manufacturers sites online and see what you can find. As for the bra you bought, I would complain not only to the manufacturer, but to the store as well.

I did same as you. I wanted a lacy bra that wasn't deep cut in front (peek factor). So I bought two identical bra's that offerred me this coverage and cut the cups out of one, slit it open - and sewed it into other identical bra. Got what I wanted - works/fits just fine! Then I thought of all the bra's I donated to the YWCA -- I could have used those cups to put into other bra's.

    Jinx,
We continue to learn on this journey. Sometimes we just have to be creative.

Attention all petite women looking for a mast bra! I finally found one that doesn't look like a "grandma bra". It actually looks like a regular bra. ABC just came out with its style 125, designed for petites. I can wear my old amoena contact light that doesn't stick any more, or I can wear it with my amoena 126 leisure form. I finally have options!

I just looked at the tag in the bra, and it says style 105. The Cardboard tag said style 125. Whatever, it's the bra made for petites.
