Alternate therapies for side effects..anyone tried

I have side effects from Herceptin which include neuropathy and pain and swelling in my legs. I now have osteopenia and am on Fosamax. The pain in my legs has worsened and I am desperate for an answer other than drugs. I take 12 pills a day! I was wondering if anyone has tried accupuncture or accupressure for side effects or residual effects from treatment. I am thinking of seeing an herbalist or something but don't even know where to begin to look for a reputable one. I don't know anyone in my area who has done any alternative treatments.

    Maggie, there is a possibility that your symptoms are caused by the Fosamax. Why don't you investigate that?

    I just started taking Fosamax last week and have had this problem since Herceptin began. They said it could be from the Herceptin or residual effects from Taxol.

    Maggie, In Cleveland, you should be able to find someone....perhaps a naturopath?? I found a WONDERFUL one. I also have a GREAT acupuncturist who has done more for me than ANY medical Dr. EVER!!! Shop around, the only bummer is that most insurances don't pay for anything even remotely alternative. Best wishes!
