    Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes today, each and every one of you girls are special to me. It's funny, before breast cancer I used to care less about my birthday, I mean I was excited etc but now each one has a different meaning and only you girls truly get it.

    Tina, I totally said the same thing on my birthday (July 4th). I told my friends that once we got older, birthdays lost their oomph for me, but now that I have been granted more time on earth, I rejoice in the day! I've had two birthdays since dx. and look forward to many, many more!

    I am trying to be more like my daughter and have a birthday week instead of one day I am extending it thru the weekend as here in Windsor, Ontario there is a huge Dragon Boat festival/races all weekend, today is for BC survivors and sunday is the corporate teams/races.
    The survivor races are too emotional for me, they scatter pink and white roses into the water and pray, it is beautiful to watch but heartwrenching at the same time.
    It is difficult for us to go there, my husband lost his first wife to IBC in 1994 and now with my diagnosis it is still so raw.
    I will think of each and everyone of you fine ladies this weekend while I am paddling my brains out!!

    Good luck in the races... I wonder if we have ever met. I am a member of the Breaststrokes team in Guelph. I am not paddling this year though but I did last year and the summer before... hmmm...

    Celebrate the whole week is the way to go..... you deserve it
