Almost bedtime my sisters but thought I would check in on everyone...
We had a showing tonight, it was a young couple that had drove my our house last night and stopped for quite awhile. They booked an appt with their agent for tonight and were here for an 1 hour 10 minutes. So hopefully we will get some news for a second showing or an offer....fingers, hands, toes, whatever crosss them please.LOL.
Paula - thanks for the compliment. I am glad that I am not alone on the aches from Armidex, my fingers hurt too!
Kelly - what kind of dog do you have? How old is it?
Some dogs dont like being left out, our puppy is really a people person and loves being around us...if we are in a particular room she has to be there lying on the floor too!
Mary - it was me that asked about which movie you saw. I want to see Shrek 3, love the voice overs in the previous two movies. Is Eddie Murphy the donkey again? He was a hoot in the last one!
TracyNy - you seem to take your surgeries in stride and it cant keep you down for long until you are moving around like an every ready bunny again. Good luck with your procedure!
Tracyseattle - cant wait to see the pictures of Mt Rainer and you and your new pup.
Cindy - yes you too will get back to being busy with life once again after this chemo interruption is done, hang in there 1/2 way there yah!!
Have a great night ladies!
Love
Michele -
TaDah - i must have missed something... whats the operation you are having? Good luck anyway!
Kelly, i friend of mine used to have a dog, and she (the dog) was absolutely terrified of fireworks. Would go crazy if she was outside alone.
Cindy, hang in there! You will be done before you know it.
Michele, i want to see Shrek 3 as well! I loved the first two, i must have seen it 100 times. We have it showing in 3D, so that should be fun. In fact, in the Movie World, they are showing it in 4D!! Which means the seats squirt water when the donkey sneezes and such.. lol
Ahhh, another weekend. Between us girls, i had company last night.. its nice to wake up cuddled up to someone! -
Samson is now 10 years old and right by my side. He was never destructive until the last year or two but he has had to be in a dog run since he can now climb the fences ... so maybe it's the confinement so much during the day that has changed his personality???
I forgot to mention that I loved the pics of your studio Miss V!!
TaDah, good luck on the dog ears. I want mine off too!! -
Tracy...good luck on the dog ears! I had mine off on my stomach from my DIEP and it was easy surgery. Made a better difference when they were off and gone! Have fun being a maniac
Brenda...watch yourself in Vegas. I love that place...I went thinking I wouldn't like it, but it's so fun I love the water show at the Bellagio
Victoria...I love your pics. I wish I was an artist sometimes. My brother practically lives in his studio (he's a painter) and it must be so calming to have that. I still dream about being a writer and living in this little beach house like in Nantucket or something
Paula...give details? who was the company? seriously, if my job was to lay around with my husband all day, i would be content
michele...i love your new pic!!! crossing all my fingers and toes for you
cindy....congrats on being halfway done! such a great milestone. those naps are important....i took millions during chemo...sometimes we just need that recharge. hang in there...you're almost done!
tracy...i'm waiting for pics of you and dave
Everyone else...hope you're having a good weekend! I'm still catching up on everyone's posts. If I fall behind one day...I have so much to catch up on
Just waiting for my husband to get home from golf, so we can go play tennis (whew!) Our weekends are definitely not for relaxing...it's go go go!
Puppy is hopefully being born the first week of August. The breeder has a good feeling about this moommy-to-be since the other 2 mommies haven't had successful pregnancies. BUt, she said this mommy dog is nice and plump and pregnant So, cross your fingers because honestly, if something screws up with this next litter, you'll hear me screaming.
Is anyone else feeling a bit squirrelly about the 2 year mark coming up? Mine is in August and I'm starting to get the willies...like, will I get there and be okay? My regular appt. with my onc. is in 2 weeks, so I'm getting restless. I just want to stay okay. Everyone in my life keeps telling me that they have a gut feeling that I'm okay...I hope they're right. I'm working so hard to get in shape (I have serious muscles now because I'm doing kickboxing!) but that freaks me out because I felt fine before all this too. Taking deep breaths.
Have a great weekend everyone
Love you all,
Amy -
Good afternoon to you all...
Cindy...hope you are feeling well. The halfway mark...hang in there..it will be over soon. Rest and make this your healing time. You'll have so much to celebrate and very soon!
Brenda..have fun in Las Vegas. That's a fun, happy place to be! I gambled 3 bucks the last time I was there.
Michele..much better avatar. I can see you now! You look great. I love your hair. My dh's aunt keeps telling me that my curls were so pretty. Does she have to remind me? I loved my curls!
Tracy NY..good luck next week on your dog ear surgery! You have one heck of a busy, exciting life!
Kelly..10 years for some dogs is old and for others is average. Depends on the type of dog I'm told. I hate when they go nuts.Casey is tearing up things too, and having potty accidents all over. She is not easy. Feel so badly for her. She looks old..she has white eyelashes now!
Amy... you don't have far to go til August. You DID it as far as I'm concerned!!! I'm actually excited about getting to my 2-year mark. I'll be in the States. I see my onc after that, and my surgeon and will have mammo and ultra sound. I'm not worried. I picture myself being healthy and when I picture myself in a certain way, I'm usually right.
Tracy Seattle...have fun!
Paula..sounds like you had an interesting weekend...okay..'fess up!
Had 21 people here for BBQ and I still have a mess to clean up. Just needed to rest my aching back for a minute. But, I'm tired so I'd better get the floors washed. It was my FIL's 84th birthday. I think he enjoyed it. He liked the food, we had a luscious cake from a well-known bakery around here and tons and tons of food. Took my dh forever to cook it all on the grill!
Off to play Cinderella... -
Paula - woohoo for you. It is so ggod to hear of you being young again , and not young with cancer.
Cindy - we are all rooting for you. Halfway come and gone now - down hill from here.
Meeshell , perhaps these are the people????? Everything crossed here (which makes going for a wee difficult but if thats what it takes!!LOL)
Brenda - Vegas. Wow - i like those 2p machines - guess they dont have them !!
Paula - my 2 years went by at the end of May - celebrated by going to hosital with a lump i had found - ha ! Turned out to be scar tissue and a lymph node - they took 28 , how many are there????
Today has been quite sunny , maybe Summer is thinking of coming .
Cat went on a bike ride with Scouts last night. She did about 10 miles and came back really muddy as it has been raining for ages - she has never been a mucky kid so was funny - she didnt think it was though.
OK - we helped on Denalis name (sort of) My friend is having her 6th child soon , it will be her 5th boy. Being as it has rained virtually all of her pregnancy she fancies a name which relates. Her others are called Bethany , Samuel , Isaac , Joseph and Toby , so she wants a name which fits with them. So far , the others want Noah !!
Its hard when pets get old , didnt think Sam would make it but hes fighting fit. The cat is 14 and she lives in the shed , she looks a bit scrawny but fighting fit.
OK , gotta go , 23.03 and Indian takeaway here - YUM! -
lol thanks girls..
but its nothing serious. I dont think i am ready for a relationship. Maybe i've learnt to rely on myself too much, maybe i've gotten more selfish, or maybe i am simply too fussy. So the longest i can spend with a guy is about 12 hours and then i kick them out! -
Hello, hello from sunny and "going to get hot today" western New York. It was 75 degree when I got up at 6am and will likely be in the 90s this afternoon.
Have had a good week with my sister's dogs. The lab who was sick the week before has been in good health. I'm excited for her to return tonight because she is bring my 2 nieces from Utah. She bought plane tickets for them to fly into NYC and them went down there to pick them up. So far they have been to the sights in NYC, a Broadway musical, now they are in Amish country and will spend today at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. This coming week I will be going with them to Niagara Falls and other places around here. Of course, the pool here at my sister's house will be a nice thing since it is likely to be hot weather. I haven't seen these girls for 7 years so they are going to be all grown up and fun to be with at ages 10 and 16. We live so far away that I don't get to be an aunt very often so I want to make the most of it this week.
Amy: after spending the week with the 2-year-old black lab I know how excited you are going to be. Get in the habit of picking everything up off the floor and low tables. They will chew and destroy everything and anything . . .even their own dog beds. Good thing they are so adorable so you forgive them of just about anything.
Planning to get my plane ticket this week for Chicago and feel excitement building. I will have just passed my 2-year anniversary when we meet and I think most of my emotional evergy will be focused on that trip and reunion. How can I call it a reunion when we are mostly all meeting for the first time? It seems like I have known you for a long time and has a reunion feeling to me.
love to all , going off to church now.
Mary -
Hi girls!
Hope you're all doing well. I have been very busy as usual. Work, gardens, water park (LOL), etc...
For those of you coming in on Thursday...some of you had mentioned hot air ballooning...that's one thing that can be done on Friday - in addition to - perhaps tattoos.
So let me know.
Take care, have a nice Sunday evening! -
Wow - I hadn't really thought about the 2 year thing until now..... My 2 year mark will be Sept 6th..... I am going for my yearly mammo on Aug 29th - just after I get back from Chicago. Will see the Onc too.... Wow - 2 years. YIKES!!!
OK, here is a pic of me - I went to Gene Juarez salon today, got my hair colored & highlighted and cut short again so that I can spike it.....
Here is a picture of Mt. Rainier from our trip on Thursday. Washington is such a BEAUTIFUL state when the sun shines!!! LOL!!!
Well, tomorrow is the BIG day! I am apprehensive and excited all at the same time!!! Think good thoughts for me ladies! Hopefully this will be my LAST full time job. I would like to keep it for 10+ years and then retire....
I'm not sure about the Tattoo... no one else wants to get one. Hot Air Ballooning could be fun. Or I am up for just hanging around and relaxing by the pool.
Have a good day tomorrow - I won't be having coffee in the mornings with you all for a while until I see what the rules are at the new job.
I will check in tomorrow night! -
Tracy, you look wonderful!! How funny, you got your haircut and I finally got mine cut!! It looks much like yours! I wanted the back cut up so the front/top will catch up!
-
Tracy..you look terrific! Happy! And I love your hair! So cute!! And the dog..and the pic of the mountain.
You go girl! Good luck today!!!
Hi Mary..sounds like you've got some fun events coming up. Have fun with the nieces! -
Good Luck Tracey - this time next week it will feel like you have been there for years!!
Just think - if you dont tell them , this is an entire group of people who will NEVER know that you had cancer. -
Tracyjust wanted to add my good wishes for your first day at the new job. Love the pictures. Happy to hear our picture finally made it out of Dave's camera.
Will post more later. -
Tracy: How did it go at the new job? Love your pictures. You look great and the doggy looks like fun.
Best wishes to everyone. I'm planted right in front of the window air conditioner tonight. It was hot, hot here today.
Mary -
Hi Girls,
We had a lot of rain yesterday, we needed it and as I type this it is raining again with some thunder boomers too!
No news yet on our showing from Friday night .but we have a showing already booked for Wednesday night .count it #27 yikes!
The wedding on the weekend was fun but I kept looking for the bride, gosh how times have changed today. They were both extremely happy and thats all that matters. I was such a party pooper though, left at 10:45 pm. as I had a bit of a drive home and being tired I didnt want to risk falling asleep on the way home. Does anyone notice they dont have the stamina that they use to? I never was a late night person but find that I tire a lot easier now than I did prior to diagnosis.
Also, went to my girlfriends daughters 21st birthday and it poured rain so we sat outside in her moms huge garage to keep dry. The food and company were good and it was nice to see my girlfriend again as things have been super busy around here. I had lots of compliments on my headband and curly hair, oh I love your hair, did you get it permed?LOL.
There is some nasty grey hairs showing through so may get it highlighted this weekend and tided up as it is so thick.
Paula good for you, enjoy your male company. You have earned the right to be fussy!
Kelly if Casey was use to having the run of the house and now is in a dog run the confinement, having pent up energy and being bored will cause her to get into stuff after she gets out of being in there all day. Hope she hasnt destroyed anything expensive. One day when Scooby was younger and her crate was in the dining room by the sliding doors she got a hold of one of the blinds and pulled it into her crate, needless to say when we got home the blind was in shreds. The crate got moved out of there pretty quickly!
Amy thanks! Back at you, love your new picture you look so happy!! If your doggy mom is due in August that means you will be a puppy owner come October sometime, bet you cant wait
My 2 year is not until October but when I think about it I cant believe that we are all almost 2 year survivors, pretty amazing. You are fine although the follow-ups are so nerve wrecking until you get the final word that you are NED. I can fell it, good
vibes here.
Deb thanks, dont know what happened to that other picture I posted. Did all of your curls disappear, I have a few to spare and will personally hand you some in August, haa haJ
Do you ever stop entertaining? You are making me tired!
Debbie444 you need some of our hot weather to dry up the muk. I can see your daughter just covered in it now!
Okay, your friend is having her sixth child, my gosh, what she must have patience that I will never see
What is Indian takeway?
Mary hey a reunion sounds great as we have all been through hell and back and come out the other side in one piece and that is truly something to kick up our heels and celebrate! I feel like I have known you ladies forever anyways.LOL.
Hope your time with your nieces has been special.
Laura love your new avtar too? Have I already told you that? Cant remember what I have done from one minute to the next? No tattoo here, havent had a chance to take a breather and actually think about the intinerary but will definitely have time to make the flight there on the 23rd of August!
Tracyseattle love your new hair colour and cute. Denali is a cutie and has two different coloured eyes, very cool!
The Mt. Rainer picture looks like a postcard, so pretty
How was your first day on the new job?
Hope everyone has a great night.
Hello to all my missing sisters, Rosemarie hope you are enjoying your trip or maybe you have just gotten back?
Good Night
Love Michele -
Hi Girls -
We're all posting about our anniversaries, but I'm confused...is it from the day of diagnosis? If that's the case, then mine is July 22. I still can't believe it all. We HAVE COME A LONG WAY!
-----------------------
Tracy -
How did it go today? I love your hair-cut/color and your pooch is a sweetie. That photo of Mt. Ranier...gorgeous!
Michelle -
Everything's still crossed for you two...SELL, SELL, SELL!
--------------------------
For those of you that will be here on Friday...we'll just "lay it by ear" so to speak. Those that want to hang at the pool...no problem, those that want to shop...no problem...hot air balloon ride...no problem. Like I said before...Friday night is our big night!
---------------------------
Have a great Tuesday! -
Girls.. what are the dates for the Chicago trip again?
-
ha - dont ask me Paula - there would only be the two of us there!!!LOL Thats what i seeem to have lost - any organisation skills that i had before!
Indian takeaway - when we were at my Aunts before , she called it Take OUT - the kids were rolling on thefloor laughing at that one. Do you call it the same? When we have an Indian takeaway we eat like kings as the place belongs to the dad of the child i work with in the morning at school. We order for 2 and get enough for 4!! The other night one came to 'help you get well' ! i dont have many 'contacts' but thats one worth keping!!
Meeshell - is all property moving slow at the moment?? It must be so disheartening. It will happen soon.
The suns out (typical now i am back at work fully - - making the most of it by wearing my flip flops. -
Wow - it's good to be back! I sure missed all of you!
Besides getting my period for the first time in two years and losing my boys at Disney for 30 minutes (I still want to throw up) we had a really nice vacation!!
Can't wait to keep up daily now -
Oh - I can feel losing them in the pit of my stomach Rosemarie - how awful. Glad they are all present and correct!
The photos look like you had a good time
Debbie -
dog isn't pregnant anymore. problem with her ovaries. now my husband and i are going to try to adopt a dog through lab rescue.
is this paralleling my life or what? -
"Lay it by ear"?? We say, "Play it by ear" LOL

TaDah -
Let us know how you're doing as soon as you can...
Paula,
Some girls are coming in on Thursday, August 23rd, some on Friday, August 24th and most are leaving on Sunday, August 26th. Hope you will be joining us.
RoseMarie -
The photos are great. What a scare you had though! Glad you're back. I wanted to suggest that once you map your directions to our get-together, let me know what they are. I would like to suggest in advance that you avoid going through downtown and instead, try to take 294 North to resort. The Dan Ryan (the one that goes through downtown)is A MESS - with construction.
Debbie -
Sounds as though you're feeling better! That's great.
---------------------
Hope everyone is doing well! -
Debbie, still looking for names associated with rain:
Dara - Girl
Meaning - Angel Of Rains And Rivers
Origin - Persian -
Really busy with dragon boating this last month. We have been paddling three nights a week and I am exhausted. My kids are having the most basic of foods as I rush out to the river for 5:30 on paddle nights. Our race day is Saturday, pray for good weather and a good race.
I do check our thread each day so have kept up with the news and pics. Tracy your hair looks so nice and glad you have started your job. I hope it is just what you need for the next ten years.
My hair is so wooly, to cut or not to cut that is the question? I will leave it for now but it is very awkward and starting to be extra work...
V, it is good you ere down to business with your art. How long does it take for you to do a piece? Do peole request a theme or do you paint what moves you?
Laura, are you getting anxious with all these visitors to your city? I arrive at 12:29, I will have to clear customs. Tracy, we should probably try to meet in the airport and travel to the hotel together. I think you arrive around three, is that right? I could meet you somewhere.
I have ordered nice weather so I plan to relax by the pool. I am the opposite of Tadah and HATE shopping. I could be convinced fior the hot air balloon... Is Oprah coming to meet us?LOL.
Cindy, wow, half way already. I can tell your mind is way ahead of your body. You just know that time will fix your bad feelings and you'll be energetic again. Hang Tough.
Amy...the third dog had trouble too!!!!!!!!!Rotten luk. Ho;d out for a puppy, they are so sweet.
Fists up!
Mary-Anne
Ho to the rest of you. -
Thanks girls. I am till thinking and planning. If i come, i will be bringing a friend with me, but he can occupy himself while we are doing our thing.
Which hotel is it again? Sorry for being so disorganised...
Amy, i think the universe is trying to tell you that there are plenty of cute sad doggies that need to be rescued from a pound. Those dogs apparently make the best pets as they are forever grateful, they do know you've saved their life! -
Thanks for the info Laura - I will keep you posted!
Paula, it sure would be great to meet you in person, I hope you can make it!!
Amy - bummer, but you'll get the perfect pup, I just know it!
Cindy - hang in there sister!!! woohoo and congrats on the half way point!
I started intense therapy yesterday for LE - LOVE my new therapist. Typing with these bandages is a little tough BUT she assures me that in 6 months I will be back to normal!!
Debbie - sorry it took so long to send the package!! It's been ready for a while and sat in the back of my van forever - I finally mailed it from Florida!! Glad you're taking it easy but also glad you're able to work a bit!
Off to finish my glass of wine...
