OK my sisters, here are the pictures I took this weekend...

    Unbearable cuteness

For some reason I did not wind up taking full length pictures of the dresses we selected for the girls...I think I was distracted by my sister being so pretty and so grown up (she is 10 years younger than me) as well as by Owen's poor little bitten schnoz. BTW, he is fine now...the bruising is fading already, and he has NOT transferred this into a fear of dogs in general, although he is afraid of THAT dog in particular. Not that I can blame him. Regardless, he will never be in the same room with Jackson again.

Today is Frances's birthday. I can not BELIEVE that my baby is 10 years old. 10 years ago at this moment, I was waking up after giving birth and holding my firstborn daughter. I remember it like it was yesterday...tears of joy, and teeny tiny little toes.

Hi ladies! It sounds like everyone is cruizing along, through the ups and downs of treatment, but we're all heading toward the finish line 8-)
I went in for my 5th of 8 boosts yesterday and was told we are going to have to hold off a few days to heal up some. My regular onc is on vacation, so I was able to convince the sub doc I could go on for one more treatment, then we can reevaluate. I really DON'T want to stop now so close to finishing. On top of that when I asked about follow-up visits (since this is my last doc visit before my last rad), he said I would have to talk to my regular doc when he returns. This happened to me with chemo too - doc on vacation, and me sitting there with no answers to the "Now what?" questions I had. An exercise in patience - again!
    'Nuff bitching!
Mizzsissy - those were too funny, and I agree, they will be laughing at us and what we do in 50 years!
    Have a grat day ladies!

I can’t wait to see pictures from all who are trying to post them. Photobucket is an option. OR if anyone get’s frustrated just email pics to me and I’ll post them for you.

Rebecca I love the pics. The bride is beautiful - nice touch with the sunglasses on her head

Lynn – UGH! I hope they get that infection taken care of soon. Enough already.

If the wig trimming session turns out well today I'll change my avatar.

Good luck with the wig trimming session...and speaking of pics...

Melia and Viddie, you are SO in the home stretch now with the Taxols. You go girls!
Jan, 9 eastern sounds like a good chat time to me. I will do my best to remember this time. Need to go back and find that chatzy link.
Another very easy website with free photohosting is photobucket.com, it's what I use.
Lynn hope that surgeon gets a little more aggressive treating your infection. Let us know how that goes.
It's going to be a 90+ day here with high humidity and I must admit that having so little hair is MUCH cooler. Normally I'd be fuming about my hairdo falling flat and trying to figure out ways to twist the heavy mass of it off my neck. No worries about that now! I have a feeling I'll be using a lot of cornstarch today however.

Tina I know what you mean about seeing post-chemo pictures of yourself. I just experienced that too. Why is my face so much fatter? Steroids?

    Best post-solstice greetings -- Skye

Your girls are darling, Rebecca, and your sister looks gorgeous in that dress. Swarovski crystals? Holy cow! I remember I had a local seamstress make my dress of embroidered white cotton for $40.00. That was with ruffled train. Things are certainly different today. But what fun! Thanks for sharing - Skye

Caya, your daughter is georgeous and so are you; your avatar does not do you justice. You're going to look so pretty when your hair grows out.

Rebecca, your daughters are just adoralicious, sweet, sugar, spice and everything nice. I understand how you must be completely in love with them. I always wanted daughters & never got any!!!

And you're right about Picasa...the software if fabulous. I started using it when I switched from a Mac to a PC and needed something that worked like iPhoto, and Picasa itself is super but I love Picasa Web. Everything Google does is great, they're so unMicrosoft.

Lynn, you must get better soon. This infection must be such a drag. What kind of antibiotics are you on? Maybe they need to try something different. Hang in there. It all does end and the end is in sight!!

Thanks again Jan for posting those pics for me. The first picture has me with both my DDs - Amanda (age 21) is on the left, and prom girl Cassie (age 18) is on the right.
I've been hanging in there - some nausea still, but I am fighting through it.
I went for lunch yesterday with my best friend Toby and another old friend who is 2 years out from BC - she is having implant reconstruction this fall - taking off her good boob too. It was great to talk to her and compare notes. I will keep everyone abreast (couldn't help that pun) of her status.
Mizsissy - those old ads are too funny - Lysol for douching - and tapeworms, lard? OY VEI is all I can say.
Rebecca - your sister looks lovely in her wedding dress. And what a bargain because it is a store sample. And your girls look very sweet - Happy BDay Frances - it's a big day when they turn double digits.
Amera - thanks for letting us know there could be an end in sight to the hot flashes, but as Lynn (I think) mentioned - it may not work for some of us older gals - I'll be 49 in September - but I hope so. I start Tamoxifen soon so it will another joyous ride to see how that affects me.
Viddie - it's nice that your twentysomethings are vying for your attention. Just like when they were under age 10 - what's old is new again.
Nancy - I hope you are feeling better.
Melia, Tlc, Cindy, Joni, Mary, Mel, Robertin, Tina, Skye,Sharon,Lynn ( how's that infection - YUCH) - hi to all of you, hope everyone is having a better day.
Yesterday I was out to dinner with some cousins visiting from Florida - they are young (25) and just got engaged - They are planning to get married next June in Israel. I am hoping to send my DDs - DH has to be in New York for sales meetings, and I hopefully will be able to go. I will hopefully have finished Herceptin by then.
It's a lovely day here, just trying to catch up on paying some bills online- oh the thrill of it all.
    xoxo

    Hi,
    Rebecca,
Your daughters are adorable, and your sister will make a beautiful bride.
    Caya,
Your daughters are gorgeous, and so is her bf. You also look quite chic.
I am off soon to have dinner with a very good friend. Hopefully I will be home by 9.
    Lynn,
    What did the doc say/do?

    Hi Guys!

Lovvvvvvved the pics. Everyone looks great. Caya, your daugthers look like fashion models! Gorgeous. You look great too! Very relaxed and healthy. Rebecca, your sister is beautiful and so are the girls. Happy 10th to Frances. Paul was 10 in Dec. and yeah, double digits was weird for me too. Viddie, I was re-reading some posts and saw one where you were happy your kids were vying for your attention. I had to laugh as I am here hiding in the back office. I'm sure I'll be feeling like you are when they are 23.

Thx. for the posting tips. I'll have to check out the Picasa stuff. I have turned into such a techno-impaired person since I stopped working.

I've been on a ROLL today, throwing out tons of stuff from my basement. I tossed a beat up table that needed dismantling before I dragged it up the stairs, 8 chairs, an ESPN Gamestation (enormous hunk o junk), an air hockey table, miscellaneous crapola... I got quite the workout. I guess I'm trying to de-clutter and feel like I have some control over stuff right now...w/the layoffs looming, etc... I think the DH will be ok but this limbo land stuff stinks. Need to get in the shower so I can meet w/some neighbors at 8:30 to discuss having sidewalks put in this section of the 'hood. They skipped us. Therefore, I may not be at chatzy. TTYL!

Well, all Frances wanted for her birthday this year was a kitten, and I finally got convinced to go along with it, so we went to the animal shelter and adopted this little beauty. Frances has named her Bella...she appears to be adjusting well, although she is painfully thin under all the fluff. She goes to the vet tomorrow for a once-over.

UGH...tried to embed the photos, and it was a no-go. Got it to work before, not sure why not today...ah well

Caya- Boy I wish I looked half as good as you do in that pic, and your daughters are beauties!
Rebecca- congrats on the kitten baby.
Lynn- how's the infection going? I get my port out tomorrow and kind of nervous about staph. Remember my port got a staph infection 2 days after it was put in. No need for that again thank you much!
I have had today radiation, a chest x-ray, a dexa scan and an echocardiagram. anymore rays and I'll turn to dust!
Have to fast after midnight tonight for the port removal and I really hate that. I always get extra thirsty when I can't have it.
Radiation is going good so far. Skye- I know what you mean about having a male tech. Today was my first...evidently he's has been on vacation. I was very uncomfortable.
Maybe he noticed because he stayed behind the lead door and the girl came in to adjust me. I know I don't have alot of modesty left, but that was unexpected, to have to open my gown to him. LOL
Don't know if I can do chatzy tonite. Jeff will be home about that time and I have not seen him since Sunday. Have fun and don't talk about me. Love you guys!

Ah Rebecca, your girls are adorable. I understand not wanting to dress them in something beyond their years. My girls sometimes questioned me but now they talk about how young girls are dressed and they sound an awful lot like me.

I've got to get control of that room!

Are you having general anesthesia? I haven't heard of anyone being NPO for this procedure as it's done with a local.

Will be thinking about you tomorrow.

So, here are the wigs after a good trim. Let me know what you think - honest comments welcome. If you think one looks more natural than the other I'd like to hear it.

Sorry I missed most of the chat tonight. I hope you all had fun. My hubby wanted to watch a movie we rented this afternoon.

Oh, no....I was sitting right here, waiting for chat time, and I FORGOT IT ANYWAY! I guess I'll blame it partly on Mom-fatigue, and partly on a phone call. But basically I just fogot. Well, I'll try to catch you Thursday.

Caya, I loved the photo of you and your daughters, and also your daughter and her bf. You and your daughters are all beautiful women. And Rebecca, thanks for more great Sheehy-family photos - your girls are so lovely, and your sister is going to be such a beautiful bride. Bella the cat won me over right away - I hope Frances enjoys her. I do love those tabby cats - they're my favorites. Is she going to be an inside cat?

Mizsissy, thanks for the hilarious ads from yesteryear! I remember the doctors smoking in the hospital corridors when I was first a nurse, and also vaguely remember those ads for Camels. However, the others were new ones to me, and I can hardly believe people were ever so ignorant. But, as someone said, in a few years, they'll say the same about us.

Lynn, I'm concerned about your infection - be sure to let us know what the surgeon says. Hope it clears up easily with a change in antibiotics and doesn't require anything more.

Joni, congrats on being done with rads. Melia, and Viddie - you're almost there - one more week.

I'll try to catch up with everybody else tomorrow - I've been reading but not much else since my mom came for a visit. She went home today, and I'm kind of tired tonight. We had a great visit, though. She's a great lady.

    Love you all

Jan, I like both wigs... the first is nice and close cropped...so not the pumpkin head syndrome I had going on. The second one is more shiny, glamorous... I like both. I can't choose one over the other.

Cindy, Yep, going under to have it removed. It is a light anesthesia from what I understand. Same as when they put it in, as a matter of fact I woke up in the operating room, (first for that). I guess sometimes tissue can grow around the catheter and make things tougher to remove it. Also they said sometimes the catheter can break off as they are pulling it out. Yeah, I'd rather be asleep.
Jan- like Tina... I love both wigs, both are very flattering.

Hi gang, I am off to the ocean tomorrow for most of the summer. I will have limited internet access but will check in when I'm home for various dr appts and such. Have a wonderful summer. I hope by Sept everyone is on the road to recovery.

I am hoping this trip will allow me to transition out of patient/treatment mode as I will have to hit the ground running when I return to work. Nothing like that to shock the system.

    My best to you all!
