Debbie, Glad you are feeling better. Has the swelling gone down at all in your neck? Hopefully they have your pill's sorted out by now.

Michele, I hope you sell your house soon. I can't even imagine having to be ready to show it at a drop of a hat.........That has to be stressful. How is scooby doing?

Tracy, congratulations on the new job. More money, that makes it even better.

Cindy, I hope you are feeling well. Enjoy your week off from chemo.

Mary, I hope you are well too.

Ravdeb, Good luck with Dr. Dick..........You have got to be kidding, Dr. Dick? lol..You have to feel sorry for him with a name like that.......lol

Brenda, I think you will be good for the job too........Kindergartners are so cute.

My grandson will be over for the next couple of day's so I probably won't be on the computer much since he likes to monopolize it. Actually I am going to make him go outside and hang out with me, lol our weather has been beautiful.

Amy, Congratulations on the sit-up's. I don't think I could ever do them.

Laura, you go girl with the exercise. I agree it can give you a high but I have lost interest again, as usual, actually I think I am just lazy......It's hard work and I need someone to push me. I hate the way I look so you think that would give me the incentive to do it. Also, where do you find the time? That is another one of my problems, no time.........but , I am going to find the time and get back on the wagon. So, on that note I am off to ride my bike...

    Everyone, Have a good one.......

OK - I have one for you. My gyno when I lived in Colorado was a guy and his name was Dr.CRAM. I am NOT making this up!!! How can these people go into the profession that they are in without changing their names??? They have to know that their name causes people issues!

Denali is doing better, he at least is walking now. He is wearing the cone more than the pants because he takes the pants off - so I call him my Cone head.

I need to exercise - I joined the gym about 3 weeks ago and haven't gone once!

Happy Friday to all, I will check in again later....

Paula..I know that the NAME Dick is not Russian but I think she might be anyway..not sure..will find out but ...
Graycie..Dr Dick is a woman so ya kinda wonder what's on HER mind!!! LOL

Graycie..the thing with exercise is not to do it everyday. I used to do aerobic and some light weights every day except Saturdays and I did this straight for years. It was easy at first because I didn't go to a class at this point(though when I was much younger I went to classes) but did it on my own at 6 am every morning while getting my kids up and out for school.

The aerobics were hard on my back and I had some sciatica only when I did the jumping so I stopped..but this was after several years. The thing is, once I stopped I felt a sense of freedom. I was burned out from it.

Now I do my walking every day but I don't walk on the beach every day because then it would lose it's novelty. So, I vary my walks. Makes it more interesting. I have a bike..should add that..just am a bit scared of riding my bike these days. I've become a real scaredy cat!

And also..you should have something to look forward to after the walking so that you know you have to walk first to get your treat!

    Hi, everyone!!!!

Tracy: so glad for your good news. Hope Denali feels better soon.

Debbie: Wishing you will be feeling better soon. I'm distressed to know this is happening to you. Your joy in life is infectious and I want you to get it back.

Graycie: Hello to you! How did you get through those big storms earlier in the week. Someone here in Rochester died when a tree fell on him. On our route to work there is a large tree that was hit by lightning and split all apart.

I'm getting excited to see all the "show and tell" items. I don't know what would be appropriate from Western NY since any foods we have here would certainly be available in Chicago. If I knew anything about wine maybe I'd go to one of the Finger Lakes vineyards and get some special wine. I don't drink alcohol so I am completely naive about wine and would not know what to get. I don't imagine I could take it on the plane, either.

I wanted to suggest that we all plan on bringing photographs of family, homes, etc. to share. I would like to see wedding pictures, baby photos, vacations, etc. Anything that is special to you would be of interest to me.

Perhaps I'll bring some special wooden knitting needles, with clay tops that I know how to make, for the kids. If they want a beginners lesson in knitting, I could do that.

Busy, busy at work. Covering vactions and doing some special projects. Our van, that was injured in the accident 2 weeks ago, is classified a total loss. We don't think so, but the insurance doesn't want to pay for the repair. They will just pay us for the van. The thing is, we can't get another van, as good as that one, for the money we'll get. I think we should take the insurance money, trade in my gas guzzling van, and buy a later model used car, that would be economical. My husband disagrees, although we are still talking about what to do. I'm thankful to be alive, but wow! what a mess this accident is for us.

    Have a great weekend,
    Mary

    MARY - EVERYONE -
Great idea about bringing pics...how about if we each bring a baby pic, and at the pj party tac each one up on a poster board, and then guess who's who? That might be fun!

    Tracy -
Hope it's nothing but an age spot on your chin (I have quite a few of those ...) How's Denali doing today?

Well, I rode my bike but not before I fell off. Actually I was trying to get on my husband's bike because my daughter wanted to ride my bike. The seat was too high and once I got over the bar I couldn't touch the ground and over I went. Everyone had a good laugh but me, although I did end up laughing I was twisted up like a pretzel and I am starting to feel it now. It's funny because I was going to buy a helmet today but didn't think I needed one. I guess I better rethink that one. I feel like I am turning into a Debbie, sorry Deb.........lol

I like the baby pic idea!!! fun!

So now we have a baby pic and show and tell items on our lists of what to bring. Oh yeah and don't forget your cheetah wardrobe!!!

Denali is doing much better today. I think I can take the collar off of him tomorrow. Just a few minutes ago, I am sitting her surfing ebay, Denali is asleep on the floor, Dave is asleep in the chair next to me. Dave started snoring, Denali woke up and FREAKED out - he couldn't get to Dave fast enough - he thought Dave was hurt, he climbed up on him and started licking him.... LOL!!!

You are too funny! You had good intentions though! Becareful...you're right...we don't need another Debbie to worry about.

    Tracy -
So cute...you and your two cuties!

    --------------------------

Hey where's everyone...Meeshell, Mary-Anne, TaDah, all of you girls...."?

Okay...I know... you're out having fun...I LOVE IT!

Mary..hope you figure out the car situation. I know that stuff..once body parts are all okay, you have to worry about the car parts. Good luck!

I also like the baby pic idea but not sure I can find my baby picture. I might have one around..will start looking. All the baby pictures are at my mom's. Maybe she can send one to my girlfriend. Will see what I can do...

Graycie..that's my biggest fear! We fixed up a bike for me, I have a helmet, nice padded seat on the bike but I'm afraid to ride it! I used to ride a bike all the time..but that was many, many, many years ago..like 20 years ago!!!

Tracy..your dog sounds so sweet! Waking my dog up is still a problem these days and it's good that I'm home a lot in the mornings so that she can sleep in. I so worry about her now. This morning she woke up with a jump when I woke her. She just isn't aware anymore like she used to be. She would sleep with one ear up when she was younger and knew everything that was going on. I think she has dementia now. It's sad. She doesn't always eat, either. Some days are better than others and I'll hear her growling at the cats for eating when she is eating. That is the way she always was so I'm always happy to hear that growl these days. But she is getting thinner.. her days are numbered I suppose.

I’m still here, it has been an extremely busy week with showings, dentist appt, mom;s bday and taking pups on a long walk after work.

It is a beautiful summer day with a nice breeze today. We had a showing this morning at 10:00 a.m. I didn’t set the alarm and didn’t wake up until 8:50 a.m., woops….thankfully all the cleaning was done last night before I went to bed. My dh was on nights last night so I was molly maid again.

The couple that came to have a second look at our home last Saturday have moved up to bigger and better homes. They are looking at a home that was listed at $419,000 and were first time homebuyers, must have a bundle of money stashed somewhere….

I like the idea of bringing baby pics to our get together, it will be a riot trying to figure out who everyone is. Havent thought of a show and tell item yet but will before we get together.

My MIL is coming up to our trailer with us next weekend, she is beyond excited as she lives on her own, being a widow for almost a year now. My dh will pick her up Friday morning and then we will head up to the trailer after I finish work on Friday and then come home Sunday night. July 2nd is a statutory holiday for Canada Day, so rest and relax on Monday.

I have to confess I still haven’t read the agenda yet, been too busy but I will Laura, one of these days.LOL.

Amy – love your new avtar! Your post was so awesome and uplifting! Your instructor deserves a huge pat on the back for asking your permission to let the class know that you are a survivor and you ROCK GIRL for proving that you can do anything that you set your mind to!!

Is your mommy dog pregnant? Hope so….

Victoria – I guess I will have to wait until our meeting to find out what the items are that you are taking? The only one I could figure out was sunshine, haa haa!

Brenda – so does that mean that you now have the rest of the summer off? Enjoy!

Deb – hope you are enjoying your beach walks, sounds so wonderful…..

I do hope Linda’s sister is comfortable and that she is okay?

Good news that your brother’s biopsy came back B9, it sucks though that he has this change now in his voice.

Glad to hear that Casey is still okay. Our animals are so much a part of our family, aren’t they?

Your doctor’s name is funny, paging Dr. Dick, paging Dr. Dick….haa ha, I;m laughing as I am typing this, hee heeJ

Debbie444 – Scooby thanks you, haa ha….she is lying on the floor beside me passed out from her long walk. She is a great dog now and listens to us which makes it easier on everyone.

    How are you feeling today?

Laura – good for you on continuing to get into shape. I do enjoy my walks too with the pups.

Navy Pier sounds like fun, I;m in for it.

Paula – The lack of estrogen does a huge number on your cognitive processes including memory. I cant remember (ha haa) the number of times I have told someone something or doing something and not remembering doing it or forgetting to do things and it goes on and on…..

Tracyseattle – poor Denali having to wear boxer shorts, now I;m laughing my silly head off. All of my pups had their “parts removed” when they were young. Our Cody actually had her first heat earlier than normal and we had to put the pads and baby underwear on her and cut a hole in them for her tail. She was so humiliated and looked soo funny.

Your spot on your face could be a skin tag. If you are concerned definitely get it checked out, doesn’t hurt and will give you some peace of mind.

That would be great if Oprah acknowledged our group….

Graycie – all the showings are becoming a royal pain, but a good thing cause it means eventually we will sell our house, but not soon enough.LOL. Usually we get some sort of notice on the showings as our listing says 4 hours notice but it isn’t always the case, especially if we are both working. What I hate is people that cancel after you have busted your butt to get things organized and then cancel 10 minutes before the scheduled time or just don’t bother showing up period!

Scooby is doing great, thanks for asking. We are glad that it has worked out for us as she is a great dog just needed to develop some manners and have some boundaries established.

You should be wearing a helmet to ride your bike, shame on you….glad you weren’t hurt though.LOL.

Mary – I like your idea of wedding and family pictures. It will be our live stories unfolding over one weekend….thanks for the fantastic idea!

Sorry you are out of pocket with your vehicle due to your accident. We went through that too when my dh’s truck got written off when I was rear ended in January but you are okay and that is the main thing.

Tahdah – don’t work too hurt on your budget. I would have liked to read your post as it is always filled with humour.

    Have a wonderful Saturday ladies.

Hello to all my missing sisters……

    Love you all!
    Michele

Michele..good to see you back. I think you wrote your longest post yet! Don't stay away so long next time!

Dr. Dick is not yet my doctor since I haven't yet gone to her but I do plan to call tomorrow for an appt if I remember.

Talking about remembering..I'm getting to be like my MIL and repeating myself all the time. My daughter gives me an evil eye when I do that!

Tracy NY...your post went to MPL..Missing Post Land. There must be one and it's probably packed with funny posts that never made it through cyberspace.Sorry we missed the funny bits. Where's the "Blondes Have More Fun" photo????

Well, my sister in law has landed. My son and I went to get her at the airport this afternoon. We now have 2 and a half weeks with her. I accept all condolences. I mean..she's not a bad person and I feel badly for her in many ways, but she can drive an already insane person (me) to deeper insanity. She is not staying at my house. She's staying with my inlaws but we live just below my inlaws on the next street (close enough to walk over in pj's...you get the idea). We wheeled her suitcase into the room she will be sleeping in. Now, it's REALLY hot here and the highs in the next couple of days will be over 100 from what I heard. My inlaws didn't have the air conditioning on so we turned it on but it takes a while for the house to cool. She said, "I can't sleep here. No air in here. I'll have to sleep at Debbie's". Panic hit me. "NO!", I said, "You will be more uncomfortable at my house since we don't have air conditioning in the guest room!!!!". Whew! It's true. I cannot tell a lie. No air conditioning in our TV room which is our guest room. Just a ceiling fan. My in laws have central air and we have separate units but none in the TV room. I was saved.

Then came the food issue. She is a fanatic about healthy foods. I eat pretty healthy myself but when I go to somebody's house, particularly my parents', I eat what my mommmy serves me and I make no comments (My mom is a great cook but sometimes serves stuff that I don't usually eat). But her first words (she had not even been there an hour) was..KETCHUP????? Ketchup is not something you cook with. It's poison!!!! Poor MIL had put a touch of ketchup on the meat balls that she baked in the oven instead of frying so that it would be healthier.

And then.... uh oh...got myself in trouble... When MIL asked me in front of SIL if dinner was at our house next Fri night, I said yes but that I may be late because after services there will be some guests there and I was asked to talk to them. We usually eat at 8 pm on Fri. nights and so we may not eat til 9 pm. SIL said, "WHAT!!!! I will NOT eat at 8 OR 9. I eat at 6 and no later!!!!.

I explained to my Israeli SIL that in Israel we eat lunch between 2 and 3 and thus dinner is always later as opposed to the American 12:00 lunch and 6:00 dinner (my parents are very punctual with this). I reminded her that she is not in Milwaukee anymore.

Please, give me the strength to deal with her these next couple of weeks. She wants to go to the beach with me. I told her I ONLY walk at 10 am (which is exactly the hour they say NEVER walk in the sun) so she said..no..she wouldn't be able to walk then and could I change it to the evening. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmm..I said to her...am way too tired by evening!!

Michele: Yes, I'm off for the summer! But not till I clear up the room I will be moving into. The teacher who used to be there had to move to Arizona in a hurry and left everything the way it was the last day of school. The good thing about this is that I have loads of Kindergarten stuff already.

Graycie: Thanks for your vote of confidence. I have a feeling it will be challenging, but hey, I'm up for the challenge, especially now that noone will be breathing down my neck!

Now that I'm off I have the whole summer scheduled already: doctors' appts., lunch, dinner, movies with friends, a trip to Vegas with my family, a week long training for visual arts, and finally, a weekend in Chicago.

Speaking of Chicago, do I have to call the hotel? Which hotel is it. Michele, you gave me the phone number but I don't know which hotel it is. (I guess I could call them to find out!)

Okay, I know this is stupid, but I have not traveled alone in a long time. How do I get to the hotel from the airport?

Debbie: I hope your doctors figure out the right dose of meds to control your symptoms.

TracySeattle: I get unconditional love from my Angus. You are lucky, too to have Denali. Hope he is healing well from his neutering.

My husband helped me get 20 years of stuff out of room 13 and into room 2. You think maybe my luck will change now? Hope everyone is having a fun weekend.

Hi there my little Asian sister...if you're sharing a room with someone, you should talk amongst yourselves and figure out who will be booking it. The hotel has an airport shuttle service to and from the airport - you just need to reserve it in advance (there is a fee - I don't know how much). Do you have your airplane ticket booked? Let me know what your arrival day/time is. Here's the linkie: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/chiln-lincolnshire-marriott-resort/

    ravdeb -
Oh boy...good luck to you! She'll be gone b/4 you know it! LOL Yikes...it's times like this I'm glad I don't have any OUTLAWS!

Amy - I am very impatient. I ccould never wait months for a pup as you have. I think it is time you just go get one!!! LOL!

Denali is feeling MUCH better! He has been running up and down the hallway. We took the cone collar off and he is not licking/chewing his stitches at all. Today he rode all over the place with us - he was in the car for about 5 hours (potty breaks, of course) while we ran errands. He is much happier with us that if we left him home. Pretty soon it will be too hot for him to go with us though.

Michelle - I am so glad that scooby is doing better!

Brenda - I bet the hotel will have an airport shuttle. We should all compare what times we are arriving, maybe we can wait for each other and then find the shuttle or get a cab.

Deb - sounds like your SIL is going to be a challenge... Hang in there!

Debbie - how are you feeling?

    Mary - HI!!!

TaDah - sorry we all missed your post, I always love reading them!

Cindy - how is it going? I think of you every day!

    Everyone else - HI!

Michele: I can't believe your Scooby is back with you! You must be so happy.

Victoria: I can imagine you in a painting frenzy. I think it's great to be able to express your feelings through art. The praise and $ that come with it are a sweet bonus.

Ravdeb: The good thing is that she is not staying with you. Just pray that the A/C keeps working in your MIL's house.

Ladies..I feel so badly about going off about my SIL but she is a REAL pain in the you-know-what! I get along fine with my other inlaws...like her sister and my brother's wife. I have tons of fun when I get together with my brother and his wife. She studied theater and is very funny! So, really...it's just this one SIL!!!!

Brenda... Michele made a reservation for a room and I think will tell them how many people will be in there (or she did that already) and then we will just all pay when we are there.
Although it would be good to share the shuttle or cab with somebody, if stuck, just go out to where there are cabs and give them the name of the hotel and if you have the address, that would be good, too. I had to do this alone once in Barcelona and I have no idea if I got ripped off since I had just arrived and didn't understand the money (or the language..could only remember a few numbers and muchos gracias!). I do remember breaking my nail though in the process of picking up my luggage or hand bag or something and then being mad about that! Sounds a bit fluffy for me? Not really..I hate broken nails because they feel funny and then I think about them too much!!!!

V...glad you have your painting time!!! I figured you were buried under paints and canvases. Enjoy and good luck getting it all done. I'm inspired!

Amy...that sounds like fun...sitting around with bottles of wine and just kinda having a relaxed, good time. What's with that mama dog??? Does she not know this is important and she needs to make a pup for Amy????? Hope it happens soon. Patience in this dept is not easy!

Casey scared me again. I could barely see her breathing but she was, and she got up and wandered to the door as always.

I was at the beach early this morning and saw some cute "teenaged" dogs romping around and swimming. They were having such a ball! When I would take Casey to the sea when she was younger she was afraid of it. However, she did go into the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) and she was quite a good swimmer in her younger days. Poor thing..now she moves from the bed in the house to a cool spot on the tiles outside. She was actually barking last night but I have a feeling it was to the air. She is really confused these days. I went out to check on her when she was barking and there was nothing there..no other dog..nothing. But maybe I just didn't see any. My poor Casey.

    Good Morning Ladies,

A few errands to run today, groceries, dogs for a long walk, laundry and then relax.

I went to dinner and a movie with my older sister last night. My dinner came to the table cold so I sent it back and then got an apology from the manager and desert on the house. It wasnt sent back with the hopes of getting something free, just couldnt eat a peppercorn chicken sandwich that was cold! My sis and I shared the desert, yummy molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream:)

We went to see Oceans Thirteen which was pretty good and George Clooney is not to hard on the eyes...in the movie he looks good!

Deb - see I took your advice and came back quickly this time so I dont have to type for hours to get everyone hee hee:)

I have confirmed with the hotel that there will be 4 of us in the room and also have a rollaway bed booked which is cheap at $10 US a night.

Go with the flow with your SIL and do what you are up to, dont run yourself ragged as we all know that you pay for that..at least I do and have to grab a nap.LOL.

You are arriving Friday right? What time? Cant remember should have wrote it down...

It is hard when our pets start to decline...big hugs as we have been there too.

Brenda - not to worry about our room, all taken care of! What time are you arriving on and it is Thursday?

Wow, you have your whole summer planned out! When are you going to Vegas?

Amy - you sound alot like me, patience is not my virtue, haa haa. Is there any chance that you could use another breeder or is this the one that works best for you?

Scooby is a sweetheart and loves being praised for being a good girl!

Tracyseattle - Denali is a real family member now. What a sweetie, likes being with you, sounds like Scubs. She is now in the computer room lying on the floor beside me.

Victoria - look forward to you explaining that in person and its approaching quickly as next weekend is July 1!

Brenda - yes, the pup is back and is doing well. Our hearts couldnt let go of her.

Cindy - how are you feeling?

Have a great Sunday off to the grocery store.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

    Love
    Michele

Yay Michele! You didn't take too long a break!

I never seem to take too long a break!

Casey is by my side now, too, actively giving her paws a bath.

I'm coming on Friday but not at night. I hope to come earlier than that. I'll be in Chicago already. Just need to figure out how I'm getting from Oak Park to Lincolnshire. Will probably take a cab. If I'm taking a cab I can get there at any time on Friday. If my girlfriend takes me it would be later in the day since she works. I'm guessing I'll be taking the cab and then she will pick me up on Sunday at whatever time. We will all keep in touch and if you are going to be somewhere in particular on Friday at a certain time, I can meet you all there.

Michele..your free dessert reminded me of the free motel room we got once. We were traveling in a van across the US several years back when the kids were little and we stopped at all those motels along the way when we didn't have family in the area. Well, we were in a Days Inn near Atlanta I think it was, and all was fine. We had used the pool and then the kids and Avi had gone and taken showers and then it was my turn to shower. I got in, lathered up and then COLD water. NO hot water. So, I yell to my dh and he calls the manager. Now remember, I'm in the shower, cold, naked and full of shampoo and the water was too dang cold to rinse. The manager said, "I'm coming up" and my dh says, "But my wife is in the shower". "oh", says the manager. "Well, then, you can all move to another room where there is hot water." Again my dh says,"Yes, but my wife is still in the shower trying to stay warm and her head is full of shampoo". By this time, the kids are ROFL and I'm in the shower yelling to my husband to get off the phone..I'd manage!!!!! I get out of the shower after rinsing in cold water and the kids are still laughing, picturing their mom streaking down to the other room or the manager coming up to the shower with me in it!

At any rate, we laughed about it and when we went to check out the next morning they gave us the room free and told us that room always has a hot water problem!!!!

OMG..I think that is a Debbie in England story!!!!

Cindy..how are you doing? Just wondering. My friend here who is on carboplatin and Taxol is beginning to feel the effects of the accumulation. She is really fatigued. Feel so badly for her. Just wondered how it was going with you...

    Cathy? How are you?

    Debbie? How are you feeling?

    Where's RoseMarie???

    Linda..I hope all is well.

Michele: Uh-oh, I may need to change my flight plans... My flight is to Midway from San Diego, and I just learned from Laura that Midway is quite a long way from our hotel. I'll figure this out tomorrow. Southwest customer relations are not open today. (I'm not sure if my tickets are refundable, as they were the cheapest = $320 round trip.) I was originally scheduled to arrive Thursday early afternoon.

Debbie: You have a lovely neck! If I had your neck I'd be 2 inches taller!

Debbie - you are looking good. Glad things are getting better.

Cathy - where are you, I miss you!

Brenda - so glad you are coming, I almost book Southwest too - they only fly to Midway not O'Hare... It might be worth calling the hotel to see if they pick up at Midway....

I am arriving on Thurs afternoon - don't have my confirmation right here with me but it is sometime around 2 or 3 and I will be glad to hang out and wait for anyone who is coming in a little later than I am. I leave on Sunday mid afternoon-ish....

I am going to try to go thru my Pics soon and pick out some to bring with me.

I am getting ready to make a BIG purchase. I am going to buy a Palm PDA. With all of the stuff I do, I really need a good calendar - with the Palm, I can keep track of my appointments, it is an MP-3 player (for bus rides, music & books!)AND I can surf the web and get my email. WHAT A FUN GADGET!!! Dave, of course, thinks I am wateful and frivilous for buying it. I am thinking it is my YAY! I got a new Job! Gift to myself!

Well, girls, I gotta go get showered and start my day. I will catch up with all of you later....

    (((hugs)))

Tracy, you deserve a "Yay! I got a new job!" gift to yourself. That Palm PDA sounds really cool! AND useful!

I had my fourth of 12 treatments Friday and I'm still doing pretty good. Fatigue is my worst side effect so that's really not too bad. No nausea, mouth sores, headaches, muscle aches or bone pain. I just sleep a lot!

Have just a bit of neuropathy in my fingertips and toes, but it's not getting any worse, so I'm happy about that. I can still button shirts and feel the nubs on the F and J keys, so no complaints on that score.

I'm a third of the way done. In two more weeks, I'll be halfway done and due for another rest week. Yay! Compared to 2005, this chemo has been a walk in the park. So far, anyway! (Hope I didn't just jinx myself!)

I booked a new flight. Looks like I'll be arriving the same day, August 23, at at 5:15 P.M. AT O HARE!, not Midway. My 300 dollars won't be wasted if I use it on another flight in one year.
