I had a bone scan and ct scans a couple of weeks ago due to some hip pain and some shortness of breath. Both came back completely clear. Thank you God!!! It is almost 3 years since I was dx and I can now say that I feel that I am in complete remission.
My tumor markers are at a 13 and all my blood work also looks good. I will now start seeing my onc every 6 months. I am not going to worry about this dreaded disease any more. No more scans for me either unless something major is happening with my body. I was so afraid that the scans were going to show mets.
I feel really healthy, am walking and biking miles each day, am out for the summer from school and am really enjoying life right now. God is so good to me and I feel really blessed at this time in my life.
I just wanted to share my good news with all of you.

Teresa,
Congrats on the great report. I am just ahead of you in diagnoses,3 1/2 years out, triple negative. I had my checkup in April 07 all good reports my tumor marker went from a 12 to an 8,all my other bloodwork is good also. I feel the same way you do about not worrying anymore about this dreaded disease. I know in the back of my mind the fear of mets will always be there, but I no longer obcess on it like I used to. I am really trying to move forward, it has been a rough 3 1/2 years for me. I know you can relate. I don't post much, but I think we need good news on this board.

I am coming to my one year anniversary 1/28/10 and just found out that breast cancer has metastasised to the head. Neadly to say I am very bumed; howver, I had 0 limnods posetive and was diagnosed Stage2. Is it this lousy tripple negative that has screed me up?
-
Dr told me it ismost likely the trigle negative cancer.

Carolyn422: I am so sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with a metastasis. It's what we all fear most and, yes, sadly, it happens more than we want to think about to node-negative women like yourself. I hope you have a good treatment team on your side... there are new advances every day... and even with triple negative. I know of a couple of others from our triple negative threads who have also had mets diagnosed recently... you'll probably find a lot of support over on the Just Diagnosed with a Recurrence or Metastasis or Stage 4 boards... but by all means stay in touch here too. I wish you well and send (((hugs)))
