I don't know if anyone has read my posts. I'm 56 with numerous breast lumps in right breast and what feels like under arm too. I found them when I lost a little weight. Haven't had mammo in five years. After finding them in March I can't eat and am down to 88 lbs. I drink ensure. I'm only five foot tall though. I have been keeping this a secret and asked for advice here and I know what you said. I finally went to pcp who did a quick exam and said it felt like it could be fibrocystic but he admitted he didn't do too many breast exams. He gave me xanax and lexapro. I have got a diagnostic mammo for June l9th and am asking for prayers please. I have the strangest thoughts though like this is a punishment from God for something bad I did. Do any of you think at age 56 you could have fibrocsytic breast. Don't all lumps disappear after menopause. Do any of you have lumpy breasts. Please give me strength and courage to do what I know I need to do. Gratefully, panny

Panny, You have taken the first and biggest step by going to the doctor. Many women have lumpy breasts, but the old adage is that "the only good lump is in a jar." Your diagnostic mammogram will show more what is going on and don't be surprised if they also do an ultrasound. It is my personal opinion that God does not do things like that to punish us. He does, however, use all things that happen to us for the good of all. Now is a good time to spend some time in prayer and talk to God. He loves you so much. There are so many possibilities, Panny. Get your mammies grammed, see a good breast surgeon, and go from there. To quote a VW ad I saw.... Misery loves company, dare to be happy! Pam

If God punished people with BC for something bad they did, 100% of the world would have it. We all make mistakes along the way and were not given cancer as a punishment. It just is what it is, whatever that means!

I'm glad you're getting this checked - my friend's mom worried alone for a long time before she spoke up and went to a doctor to get it fixed - could have saved herself a lot of worry by going sooner!!!
