OM...we had a Yorkshire Terrier named Mr. Peabody when we were "growing up"!

My vote is Focker. LOL Like the movie...but think about it...

come here Focker. Good Focker...LOL - sorry...couldn't resist.

I had a friend years ago that named her dog Comehere. She would say, "Come here, Comehere!" How ridiculous, is that!

How about Digger , or Sport?? I wanted Max for Sam - obviously i lost.
i have read all of the posts - aorry if i dont respond to anyone.
Rosemarie - Mark is quite cross that he is still at school. We get back from US on the Sunday , 1st Sept as we go back on the Wednesday.
Paula - glad you are on , we were thinking of you as the pictures of the floods were on the news.
V - the picture , funnily enough is in the colours of our house - it would disappear in my room - do you do a different colour option/LOL
Laura - the basement is looking good. I imagined it different somehow - perhasp when you have finished it will look more like i expected it to look - more 'you', whatever i thought that would be!!
tracey NY - looking good as always. who wasd taking the pics - a nice young man????
Mary - sorry about the bad luck you are having - perhaps you really ARE my sister separated by the sea??
Cindy - keepgoing girl - we are behind you.
Cathy , how are you doing?? and where are you off to next?
Deb - how is the beach doing? We went for a walk along the canal through the countryside last night - not quite the same!!
We had a quiet weekend , Catherine went sailing (or swimming - whichever way you lok at it) with Scouts on Friday , then got injured on satas they were tree felling , they felled the branch she was standing on and she landed on the ground without a great deal of grace.

I have been sent home from work ill - i am at the Drs tonight. I keep going dizzy , hot and clammy and falling over. Another great gift from our friend BIG C i guess.

    Great pictures, Debbie!

Cindy..hang in there. Hope today is a good day.

I can't keep up with everybody but I did read everything.

TracyS...Congratulations on the new dog. He definitely sounds perfect. A dog that lands in your lap for a nap is a match made in heaven. I'm not good with names. Casey came with her name, luckily.

Debbie..I had a "Debbie in England" kind of day. I was on my way to take my youngest to the train station when I got a call from my dh that the alarm went off at the house. He gets a call on his cell phone when this happens. He wasn't home. So, I dropped my son off in the parking lot at the train station. I usually turn around on a side street but I had heard there was an accident further down so I decided I'd take the loop in the parking lot. Bad decision. I made the first turn and there were two cars on either side parked on the curbs and my big van was not going to get between them. I got out of the car to take a look. Then I got back in and then I saw a guy on the pedestrian bridge waving his arms to tell me to back out of there. No way could I back out without smashing a few cars along the way! So, he started directing me and then another guy came and between the two of them, I got out of there. Took almost 10 minutes! There was another curve to take but luckily people had parked properly and I could get through. So, instead of heading to the beach I headed home to check out my house and see why the alarm went off. All was well. And then my MIL called. She couldn't turn the faucet off in her bathroom! So, I went running over there and I also couldn't turn it off! I turned off the main valve for the water and told her to wait til my dh got home. Well, my FIL walked in (good report from the doctor..all is well! ) and he went in there and turned it off with no problem! Hmmmmmmmmmm.... I told my dh that water was filled in the "thing" and that's why it wouldn't turn off nor go stronger. But by the time my FIL got home it had dried out and he was able to turn it right. Well, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

I then went to the beach. And my beach is great. The other day we had 104 degrees F and the water at the beach was calm like a swimming pool. The temps have gone down to the 80's now and the waves were back in full swing with lots of people surfing. Amazing how that is. I love my beach!!!

    Have a good day everybody.

OK , so now i am off of work - indefinitely.
Went to the Dr - he took one look at me and said 'Thyroid'. by all accounts my neck was swollen. Now i am home it is so big , that i resemble a pelican!! My dizziness , hot sweats and weight loss (boooo) are all side effects. I have bloood tests tomorrow (form marked urgent in red letters?),dr again on Fri to change the tablets he gave me today , and referred to a consultant at the hospital (which will take forever - good old Britain) My Gp says that it may be treated with Radioactive Iodine (?) or surgery - fantastic. So until its all sorted , I am off of work in the sunshine , but with an elephant neck!
Do you ever wonder why its never somebody elses turn??

I am so sorry you have to deal with this...hang in there. I take Thyroid meds. with no problems/se's. I'm sure your Dr. will help you through this. I love the photos. Catherine is absolutely gorgeous! Mark...he is a doll. I love the photo of him sanding the camper...a little Rog he is! Again, hang in there. Keep us posted.

    ravdeb -

    Debbie -
One more thing...help me here? How should my basement look more like me? Perhaps more rustic?...if that's what you mean, then you are right. When I get finished with it, it will definately be more rustic, more outdoorsy.

    ravdeb -
I think your suggestion of a get-together at my new basement is great! But...I think Friday is going to be too hectic with the majority flying in that day...and don't forget, we have our PJ party that night. So, I think Saturday evening for a buffet dinner and cocktails and games and entertainment at my place would work out really well...I really think, especially with all the kids that are coming, my place would be more condusive than a restaurant. Do you agree? And, I hope you're planning on spending Saturday night with all of us! Let me know.

    RoseMarie x3
    Kelly x1
Laura x2 (nieces, who will be here to coral all the little ones)
    I don't think I've missed anyone...have I?

Just caught up on your messages.

Debbie: too bad about your elephant neck. Let us know if your nose begins to get longer . . . lol Hope you'll feel better soon.

Laura: good ideas about the Rocktober Fest. Your new basement looks grand to me.

Ravdeb: your beach sounds wonderful. I have the picture you posted of that beach on my desktop as the background, so I look at it several times every day. I try to imagine how it must be to actually be there. You are fortunate. Hope all is well with you.

Thinking of everyone fondly. I feel better now, but you should see the purple bruise on my right shoulder from the seatbelt. I also have diagonal bruises across my chest and left breast, but they are more subtle in coloring . . yellow and green. The irony is that on Thursday I have a check-up with my oncologist and she will, of course, do a breast exam, so I'll be explaining the line of bruises across my body. The good news is that the repairs to our car and the cost of a rental will all be covered by the other driver's insurance. He was at fault, having turned into our path, and admitted he didn't even check our lane to see us coming. I continue to be so grateful for the seatbelt, even if it did bruise me, because if not, I might have been much more injured by slamming into the dashboard or windshield. Sisters, please always wear your seatbelts and make everyone in your car wear them, also!!!!!!!

    love to all,
    Mary

    Hi all!

Well, we have the pup! Picked him up tonight! He is such a sweetie - he is kinda nervous and is pacing the house a bit, but I think he is going to be just fine. Dave has been petting him and talking to him - shhhhhh..... I think they are bonding!!!

We have selected two Northwestern names - Denali and Yukon. Of course, I like Denali and Dave likes Yukon. So we are going to let our Kiwanis club vote on the two names tomorrow to make the final decision.

I will post a pic soon - I tried to take a few tonight but he wants to be right next to me - it is hard to get his picture!

The pup just got quiet (kinda like kids, when they are quiet, you wonder where they are and what they are doing) we went to check on him and he is sound asleep. Big day for the little pup!

Gotta run - it's bedtime. More tomorrow.

    Love you all!

Laura - dont know what i expected!! I think because you are so artistic in making things , and whenever we have seen photos you seem to be dressed very feminine but individually , i guess i thought it would be a kinda mix like that.
Tracey - cant wait to see the dog.
I am now trying toremember if any of my necklaces have been tight recently - like V i cant believe my neck has come up so fast!! But then again it was up in the drs and we hadnt seen it.
Got a bit of a shockj when i signed in , the front page mentioned a treatment that my dr had mentioned to me , radioactive iodine. By all accounts this raises my chamce of breast kisney and another cancer i cant remember. MARYANNE - where are you !!!!

Debbie..I hope this thyroid stuff gets taken care of. Let us know what exactly it is.

Mary..glad to hear you are doing okay and only left with a few unusual bruises. They will question whether you've been abused! I agree..wear seatbelts. They saved your life. I'm glad you get to see my beach every day on your computer! I also just put one of my photos of the beach on my desktop. So, which one do you have up? I put the one where the waves are splashing on the rock. It is gigantic and awesome on the screen like that!!!

Laura..I didn't mean a Happy Hour in your basement. I did mean a happy hour in the hotel, though! I like happy hour. And yes...I'll be around on Sat. night. I'm going back to my girlfriend's on Sunday.

Brenda...I believe you will be in the room with Michele, Paula and me. There will be room. We'll get a cot and I'll sleep on it when I arrive on Friday, right Michele???

Tracy..can't wait to see the pics of your dog! Love the bonding between puppy (who doesn't have a name yet!) and Dave. That is great! Send pics of the two of them bonding. I want to see!!!

I went grocery shopping and only put half the stuff away. Must put the rest away and make some lunch. Then laundry and ironing. Feel like a true housewife today...YUCK!

Just read my last post - I am not usually so bad at spelling - i blame my tiredness!
Just come back from my blood test - it took 3 people and 3 holes to get blood - they had me laying flat in case i passed out. I felt like crying so we went back to Dads and ate cream cake and soon felt better!!

Mary - it was my seat belt that saved me from shooting down the road on my head , i cant understand why people dont wear them.

Hi everyone, I have been pretty busy, yes, "V" I have been working outside gardening among other things. lol

Debbie, OMG, that is awful, keep us posted. Does the swelling effect your throat? Can you swallow?

Cathy I hope you are feeling well and have a speedy recovery. My son isn't a bartender in NYC he is a Graphic Artist for the Metro Newspaper. I think someone's brother work's as a bartender though. Maybe Rosemarie's or Amy's.

Nice pictures everyone. Laura, I'm, here.....lol.....your basement looks wonderful. I love it. Debbie, I am sure it will reflect Laura's personality after she put's in the finishing touches. I like that clean simple look though. Good choice of paint color. My whole house is that color.......lol

Tadah, I love your picture's too. I could have sworn I saw you yesterday at the grocery store. Do you have a twin? The poor girl, I was staring at her and I wanted to say "Hi"......lol..She probably thought I was a stalker........

    Brenda, Love the elephants

Mary, I hope you are feeling better. I hope you aren't too sore. One good thing, you have got to love our weather.

Kelly, Don't you just hate retail. I used to work all those day's in a row too......I give you a lot of credit, I don't know how you do it especially with a little one.

Cindy, It sound's like you are doing good. Glad to hear it. Did you ever get my card? The reason I ask is my sister never got her birthday card and I think I sent them the same time.

Tracy, Oh cool about the lumineria, thanks for adding our names.....The dog sound's cute and he seem's to love you already. I kind of like Amy's suggestion of Peabody. My daughter had a Australian sheepdog mix and his name was Milo.......she didn't pick the name. He was really cute and he looked like a Milo......lol.OK, I see you have picked names and have picked up the dog...I am sure you will pick the right name. After you spend some time with him it will be easier to choose.

Michele, How is your sister? How is the house selling? Summer is a hard time to sell but then again you have a beautiful yard so that should help.

Amy, What wonderful new's. I am so happy for you and you will be a great mom.

Paula, I hope your weather is improving. Flood's sound scary to me....

Ravdeb, What a day you had......I would have been freakin out, I have no patience when it comes to traffic jam's. I guess that could be a claustrophobic problem. lol Let's hope you have a better day today. Weren't you scared to check out your house alone? Glad to hear everything was intact and your house wasn't burglarized.

I know I have missed a few of you so "Hi" to everyone else........Maryanne, I guess you are busy too especially since your dh is home.

I am off today so I am going to try and spend some time in the sun......

Gail...I didn't have a choice about checking out the house. And my neighbor who has a key to our house was on his way over when I pulled up. He saw me and went home! I was a touch nervous but was pretty sure it went off for no reason. My son had turned off my ceiling fan in my studio about 2 minutes before he turned on the alarm. I was in the car already. I'm sure that is what set it off.

But...I figured that if somebody was in there and was going to attack me, well..then that is what would happen. Not much I can do about it!

i just got a call from the fertility doctor. the hormone test that he did to see how my eggs were came back bad. my eggs were significantly damaged by the chemo. i will be able to get pregnant in 4 years...but most likely...not with my eggs. he doesn't know for sure, but he said that if i was trying to get pregnant now and he wanted to stimulate my eggs, it wouldn't work. he said i'll definitely be pregnant...but doesn't know if it will be my eggs.

siginficantly damaged by chemo. i'm so angry. i'm so upset. i don't want to be on these boards, hear anything about breast cancer, know anything more, i just want to live my life and it just sucks. i'm a wreck right now and have to pull myself together to go to work...which i'm not sure how to even do.

Oh Amy, I am sorry to hear that and that you had to go through this so young. I know how disappointing that must be but is he sure they are all damaged? Maybe in 4 years things will change. I will keep my finger's crossed for you. I know what you mean about BC. I want to forget about it too but there is always a constant reminder. If it isn't a friend or loved one newly diagnosed, it's a commercial, etc. Even every little ache or pain get's you thinking about it. I'm afraid there is no escape.

Amy..I am so, so sorry to hear this. This is so not fair. I hate this disease. I know we are all living but they forgot about all the stuff we have to live with because of the chemo. You are so young. I am so sad about this. But, remember...you will be able to be pregnant and that is huge. You will feel that baby growing and that is something divine.

YOu will get past your anger, I'm sure of that, and you will see the good things that you WILL get. You will be pregnant and you will have that baby and that baby will give you more joy than you can imagine.

You are right. It sucks. But hold onto the good things that you will experience before you know it.

    Oh, Amy -

I'm so sorry you're having to go through one more thing. I empathize so much - I was told years ago that because I had a progesteron-sensitive brain tumor in my 20's that I shouldn't get pregnant. I still mourn that...however, four years is a long time - many things can happen between now and then. Spend as much time as you need feeling however you feel and then come back to the dance - we would miss you're bright light so much. I can understand just wanting to be done with this and the bitterness of knowing that we never will...

    much love

I am so very sorry to hear your latest news. You have every right to be angry. It is not fair. Besides being so young you are an incredibly strong woman and will process this with time. In the meantime, gentle (((hugs))).

Sorry about the news. Miracles do happen...where there is hope there are possibilities. And keep in mind that much can happen in the next four years pertaining to advances/breakthroughs with this and other types of infertility issues.

    ravdeb -
Gee...silly me...I was so flattered that you suggested my place! LOL Yes, we can definately have a happy hour in the suite. I think we take possesion of it at 3:00, Friday afternoon - I have to check the confirmation they sent to me.

    Hi Girls -
I'm editing the proposed Get-Together agenda and will post it later! I have been busy again with my paying job! LOL From what I've read here, it seems as though Jill, Linny, Amy and Paula are the only ones that are undecided? Is that correct? Oh yeah...Kelly have you decided...yay or ney?

    Have a great evening!

Amy - I am sorry about your news, but don't we continue to make eggs? If they are damaged now and you make more will those be damaged? Do I sound uneducated here?

You are in our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers. We love you, sister and it will all work out--just wait and see!

I have an in person interview at Nordstrom's tomorrow! Wish me luck! The job sounds fun and something new - Project Manager of Quality Assurance. I have been in QA for years, but never a Project Manager. It is something that I have been wanting to try..... so we will see! Oh yeah and it would be MORE MONEY too....

Things in our home are going well. Dave & Denali are bonding. I think Dave likes him a lot more than he thought he would. YAY!!!

    Gotta run... more later!
