Do you get any Pre-Meds before Herceptin?

Just Curious, Now that i'm doing Herceptin every 3 weeks, i don't get anything but the herceptin. NO other drugs beforehand like with the AC and Taxol. Just wondering if this is the norm with everyone else doing herceptin alone every 3 weeks.

I got Benedryl (IV), Zantac (IV), and Tylenol (oral) before my Herceptin. After a couple treatments, we dropped the Benedryl (and had no problems without it).

I did the every 3 weeks and all I had before was oral tylenol.

I don't have any pre meds with my herceptin. Been on it since December, no problems so far.

I always take a tylenol and a benedryl tablet before the Herceptin. I take them at home and I haven't had any problems at all. Bonny

They just give me oral tylenol.

I just do the herceptin, no other meds, no problems. 16 down and 2 to go.

I get IV Benedryl and oral Tylenol before Herceptin.

Bag of Benedryl and 2 Tylenol before the Herceptin. No problems with meds, however a low ejection fraction has me on a Herceptin hold.

I got benedryl and tylenol at first. I asked my doctor if I could switch to zyrtec instead of benedryl because I couldn't drive home after benedryl. I did zyrtec and tylenol for a while and then realized I forgot to take it and I did fine without any premeds

I started out taking compazine and tylenol. I started refusing the compazine (I had to return to work after the tx and was always sleepy). In the intrest of saving time I would take the tylenol before I got there. Last tx I forgot to take the tylenol and everything was fine.
