Glad to meet others like me...I sometimes feel like we are singled out..I don't know why but glad I found this site also. I also go to the her2support site.

No I am done with all treatments. My last Herceptin was in April due to low echogram numbers, it was cut 6 months short. My one year anniversary is coming up for when IT was discovered. 6/19/06

Hi! Welcome. I just hit my two years since dx'd, and it feels great. I know you must have some frustration about having to stop Herceptin, but I hope you know that it is being studied for shorter periods as there is compelling evidence that maybe 1 year of Herceptin for adjuvent treatment is more than needed. There was a small study in Finland that used only 9 weeks with great results.

    Take care,
    Jen

That's right Theresa. There is a study that 9 weeks is just as good as 52 weeks and will be much easier on our bodies. The farther out you are from diagnosis, the easier it will get. Really!

I am not understanding my pathology report. What exactly does HER2+ mean to me? I am ER+ and PR+--no nodes, lumpectomy for 7mm IDC in Nov--radiation for 8 wks and been on Arimidex now. Thanks for responses. I have searched to find out--I know what ER+ and PR+ mean in terms of treatment, but really want to know what the HER2+ means to me in terms of treatment and possible recurrence.

    Sandif,
If your tumor is HER2+, that means there is another medication used to target and kill breast cancer cells. Herceptin is an infusion used in addition to other treatments. So even though you were node negative, it might be something to ask your oncologist about.. You're on Arimidex for the ER+ part of it, but Herceptin works totally different, and would target the HER2+ aspect.

Thank you--I thought that was only for node positive and/or metastatic BC. I will ask him next time I go.
