Hi, I just came across this discussion accidently...I facilitate a lymphedema support group in California...but I happen to know about the Lymphadivas and their garments which are so much more attractive than most. Check out their web site at www.lymphedivas.com They now have prints and some great colors. The fit for me is very good, and they are light on my arm. They even white fo summer !

    Kelly -
Yes, Roy's keister is much better! LOL Teryn's party sounds fun! She is so loved and pampered! Such a lucky little girl!

    Cathy -
Nice avatar - you look so cute!

    ravdeb -
Sorry about the unrest in Israel. Imagine peace on earth...how wonderful that would be. I hope that happens in our lifetime! Be safe.

    Graycie -
Hey Birthday Girl! Are you out partying already! LOL Hope your day is extra special!

    Meeshell -
Hope you're enjoying your day off! Last Thursday, carpet layers came. Put down all the padding, layed out all the carpeting, only to find that half of it was from one dye lot and the other from a different dye lot. So, needless to say, they had to haul off all the carpet. Now I have to wait two weeks for replacement carpet! I am so piss** off right now! LOL

    Hi Everyone!

I made it back from Vegas where it was 99 degrees yesterday evening when we left - 55 degrees and raining when we got to Seattle which is normal for us.... The warm sunshine all weekend felt SO GOOD!!! My mom and I walked and walked and walked - we saw 20 casinos and, of course, gambled away what little money we took. We had a good time!

Now back to reality.... About the job hunt, nothing new to report. I haven't heard back from the company where I went for the long interview last Monday. Guess that means that they didn't like me..... Oh Well. I interviewed for another job which is at Washgington Mutual (where I work now) on Thursday. I think this one is probably too technical for me, but I have a 2nd interview next Tuesday so I guess we will see.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAIL, CATHY, MICHELLE AND TERYN!!!! Hope you all had wonderful days!

Mary - I am so sorry you are feeling down. I agree with what everyone else has said.... We have all been through a lot and then throw in the menupause and lifes other surprises - it all adds up. I take a low dose of Paxil and it seems to keep me on an even path, although lately I have been feeling like I should visit the Dr. and have it increased!

Deb - I hate that your country has to be involved in a war. You are all so brave. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dream Dinners & Dinner's Ready - I have done them both several times. I actually have friends that do them on a regular basis (yes - they are much richer than I am). The fun thing is that there are different recipes each month so you get to make all types of different meals without having to purchase all of the separate ingredients.

Well, I need to run, just wanted to check in. Hope you are all doing well..... More from me later!

Did you decide on the Dodge charger? that car is big enough for two dye lots!
I was wondering if you or Rog can identify this car? I saw it somewhere on the internet, and it's now on my fantasy wish list! In reality, I will never own one, but I think it's adorable!

Happy Birthday Graycie and Michele and Cathy in case tomorrow comes without me. my life is busy these days with DH back on the scene. I went to the boys Honors night on Thursday, paddled two evenings last week and spent the weekend at the cottage. I slept until 9:30 this AM, a new record, since having children. I did not think once about BC until late afternoon, also a record. I can't wait until it gets out to a BC-less day, week year...

Have you read the book the Glass Castle? It is a true story of a woman in the states. It is her memoir of growing up with two very unconventional parents. It is amazing how anyone can be brought up and "turn out" after such a childhood. It reads like Angela's Ashes, it is so shocking it is almost funny.

Cindy, you must be about to start Chemo. I am thinking of you and hoping all your experience will help you through.

For those experiencing depression. You need three things, plenty of exercise, a good counselor and sometimes medication. you will do best with all three.

Ravdeb, have you been assessed for radiation pneumonitis. I had that last summer and still suffer a bit form it. It is a result of radiation and can give you chest heaviness, SOB and a dry cough. It is visible on CT scans. It can happen any time in the first year after rads. Hopefully it is your asthma.

Paula, PM me all the details of your surgery. My DH is trying to talk me out of reconstruction. It is lokely too early to call it a good idea?

Kiersten's dance pic is so sweet, I am glad she is still in dancing.

Cool, car Laura, just our color too. I hated to hear about all those Oaks going for a housing development. I hope they were put to a good use.

    Tadah, your bedroom looks fresh!

Linny, your sisters story just gets sadder. Even though she cannot speak she probably appreciates your company.

Kelly have you been RV'ng this year? Does Dave like it too?

Amy, great pics from your walk or did you run? So nice of your friends to do it with you.

    Scottishlass???? Where are you?

    Fists up!

Yep, I'm to start weekly carboplatin/taxol on Friday. I see a surgeon Wednesday and I'm *supposed* to get my port put in on Thursday. It had better happen that way because I am NOT getting chemo without a port. Period.

I got a little jittery today partly because I still have time to run away from home. LOL Once I'm caught in the medical machinery, I'll be OK.

We went for a nice bike ride on my favorite trail today so that burned off some nervous energy. Then we bought a bunch of books at Barnes and Noble with gift cards we'd gotten for Christmas. So *that* was fun!

I've been arranging playlists, which are kind of like mix tapes, on my iPod. I have separated my music into four moods: Happy, Angry, Hope and Quiet. It's mostly U2, John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, Dave Matthews and Peter Gabriel.

I'm doing pretty good, despite the occasional bout with the jitters. The weather here's been gorgeous!

Cindy...I will keep you in my thoughts on Friday when you begin chemo. I laughed when you said you still had time to run away but in the same breath you are preparing your IPOD for the mood swings. You are great Cindy and you will kick this 2nd round! Jitters are to be expected. Heck, I'm a bit jittery for you myself as I recall my first day in Oct 2005, lined up to get my file and then the walk into the treatment room.

MaryAnne...I have thought of the rads pneumonitis. I will mention this to my doctor in another week and a half. I'm not convinced he will agree. He does listen though so he might. I still feel this bit of heaviness. I am not really coughing. Sometimes, but not anything more than my normal coughing. I finished my rads a year ago June. But, when I mentioned to my family doctor that I felt that all of my problems now were due to the chemo, he asked me why I would think that. Not sure if he wanted more information or if he doubted my claim.
Nice that you had some sleep-in time and you are busy with fun things.

Tracy..welcome back from Vegas. Sounds like you had a great time! Good luck with the continuing job search.

Well, a young woman was killed yesterday in Sderot when a rocket made a direct hit on her car without any warning sirens. I think she was in her early 30's. The town is angry and our prime minister said there was not much they could do to stop the rockets. This may be true but he shouldn't have said that. It not only depresses the residents there and the rest of us, but gives the okay to the terrorists to continue their crimes. Well, that's how I see it.

I'm off to shop for dairy products for the holiday. Cathy, I don't know if our celebration and customs are similar to those holy days you mentioned because I don't know anything about them. But, I wouldn't be surprised because so many of the customs and rituals from the different religions have been taken from each other and then changed.

Laura..my Rabbi Wannabe T-shirt will come in handy this week because I've been asked to open up the building, set up, and lead services this Fri night!

    Have a good day everybody.

just wanted to share this article....it's about "survivorship" being a part of life after treatment in that doctors need to understand it aint over just because treatment is over.

Laura, I would get a flesh color sleeve too. Can you get one that has a tan? lol
I don't blame you for being pi**ed off about your carpet. Why can't thing's so smoothly? that's the story of my life too, something always happen's to screw everything up. It's bugging me. What kind of car is that?

Amy, You have a beautiful voice......lol..Thanks

Tracy, Sound's like you had a good time, glad you had fun. Still keeping my finger's crossed that you get the job. They must think you are qualified for the job at Washington Mutual or they wouldn't ask you back for a second interview. Still no word from the other place?

Cindy, I hope you are able to get your port soon. Hang in there it will all come together I am sure. A mild tranquilizer might not be a bad idea for the jitter's.

Maryanne, Glad to see you are enjoying having your dh back.

I went to my PP yesterday and all my blood work was good except for my cholesterol. No problem with the thyroid so I guess the problem is with me as far as the weight gain........lol......I have to work on that so I can get my cholesterol down. She doesn't want to give me pill's yet, she has faith in me that I can get it back down with diet. We will see......

OMG, the first of my post it missing.......here it is. I must have forgot to copy it.

Thanks everyone, I had a nice day. Debbie, Thanks for your card. Today, Birthday wishes go to Cathy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHY, I'm sorry, I don't know how to post those fancy birthday graphic's. BTW, I like your new avatar.

Rosemarie, Kiersten look's so cute in her dress. She look's so proud of herself which she should be. I am happy she had such a fun time.

Ravdeb, How scary about the fighting in Israel. I don't blame you for not going, I would stay as far away as possible because I would be scared to death. I hope you are able to enjoy the holiday.

Michele, I guess you and I both have to learn how to post those birthday greeting's. Come-on girls why don't you tell us how to do it?

Well, Cathy..hope your day is a good one!

I just came down to check the news on the internet and read that the rockets hit Ashkelon, another southern town/city and where our cousins live. Nobody was hurt. Nothing was damaged but that is too close for comfort.

TracyNY..I sleep at night. Unfortunately, this has become a way of life here and we just keep going as we will not allow the terrorists to take the life out of our country. It's the eve of our holiday and we won't be able to totally celebrate, because a young woman was killed yesterday and layed to rest today. But, we will move on and we will celebrate..it will just be bittersweet.

Gail..I've got the cholesterol problem. He finally put me on a statin but not before trying a diet. The diet didn't work for me but it did work for my daughter. It may work for you, too. But V is right..menapause hits us hard and chemo screws up our bodies. Glad everything else was good, though!

By the way...it's really easy to post an image for birthdays. Browse the internet and you'll find lots of free gif icons and stuff you can put on your computer. Then you post it just like any photo you would post.

OK , just come back from a bike ride with the kids. Yesterday was the first time i had been on a bike for over 10 years - and i live in the Peak District. It feels like someone has taken the bones from my legs - i actually fell off today but it was only as i tried to get off to push. i fell backwards into the verge , in front of some bemused horse riders. Nothing hurt but my pride.
Meeshell , i know you are on arimidex , are you having trouble with joints? I couldnt get back up!!

Debbie, I am on Arimidex and my joints hurt everytime I get up from a chair or up in the morning. I look like 100 year old woman in the a.m. when I try to walk down the stairs. Yesterday at the dr's office, I had been sitting waiting for about an hour and you shoulda seen the stares as I slowly got up and then creeped/hobbled over to the nurse. The feet and knees are terrible.

Lawd, the kitty with a cup cake!! Bwaahhhh!! That is so cute!!

I got my blood test results and my new internist wants to see me about my cholesterol. Unfortunately, aside from the occasional dinner of popcorn and bacon, I really can't eat much more healthy than I do so I guess I have to bite the bullet and get into my 30 minutes of daily exercise and drop some weight.

Thanks for the compliments on my home, its not easy being me. The constant hunt for fabrics and making of cushions and accessories never ends and keeps me busy but its worth it to me.

I hope all the aches and pains for everyone disappear soon!

Thanks so much girls for all the wonderful greetings. The graphic stuff is really special and it’s been quite the party time the past three days here.

My staff took me to a restaurant/antique shop/gift shop for lunch in a town about 30 miles from here. I didn’t even know it existed. (the restaurant, not the town) Had a really great menu with lots of really good healthy food so was able to stick with my resolve to eat right.

A good friend called this afternoon and took me out for dinner. We don’t get together too often so it was fun to catch up.

Earlier I was considering what I was going to do for myself that would be “outrageously extravagant” and all I could think of was lobster but not a remote possibility in my neck of the woods. So I have to laugh at your greeting Brenda but it looks like Angus even ate my virtual lobster.

Going home to continue celebrating-talk with you all tomorrow.

    Love ya!

    Cindy -
Fight or flight...FIGHT OF COURSE! Best wishes to you on Friday...you know we'll all be circling around you and holding you up!

    Mary-Anne -
I picture myself in that car, on a fall day cruising around town wearing bright pink lipstick and a beautiful silk scarf on my head - like Katharine Hepburn. Hey, it would be funny to drive it with the boxing gloves on! LOL Have fun with the dragon boats this summer...can't think of a better way to get your mind off of bc.

    ravdeb -
Any chance of you posting a pic of you and the wanna be shirt?

    Graycie -
Definitely flesh colored! Nothing fancy for me...don't want to draw attention to my arm! LOL Glad your bloodwork, for the most part, came back good. What do you do to lower cholesterol? I would imagine there's plenty of books out there - but I'm clueless... I have faith in you too! LOL You can do it!

    Debbie -
Thanks so much for identifying my Dream Fantasy car! Now that I know what it is...hmmmmmmmmmmmm I'll have to find out how much one costs...I told Roy if there's ever a time when he doesn't know what to buy me for Christmas...LOL I showed Roy all of Rog's rally car photos. He was quite impressed with the build! REALLY impressed...like WOW impressed! You put us to shame! LOL

    Brenda -
Glad you popped in...my Little Asian Sister...Angus is a doll. Give him a big pooch smooch from his Little Polish Sister.

    Meeshell -
My bell...hope you're signing on the dotted line...

    ------------------------------------

    EVERYONE -
I took the Goat for a long ride tonight...it was just like old times...pre-bc! But the new and improved Goat is incredible! It's so powerful, I'm a little nervous at the thought of racing it in the 1/4 mile. But...I will get over it and I will do it. Can't wait...
I thought for sure I'd hear from my Dr. about the biopsy I had done on Friday, but haven't. I'm thinking that maybe this is a good sign...because if it was something bad, wouldn't she have called by now? I still have the abdominal ultra-sound - scheduled for Thursday morning, so we'll see...
I am working out like a MANIAC - 5 days a week, for at least 2 hours each day! My gal pals are quite a source of inspiration - we meet every morning - Mon-Fri @ 7:45am. They are in great shape and they're truly an incentive for me to really push myself. My muscle aches are gone, thank goodness!

I'm praying for world peace and a cure for cancer! Is that asking too much?

Hope you are all having a great evening!
