    Victoria,
Those Hawaii pics are awesome. My hubby and I are going to Bayfield Wi in a few weeks (not quite hawaii anyone been there? Kim, your pics are so cute. What a wonderful family. I had longer blonde hair too when I was diagnosed. Isn't it weird to look at those pre-dx pictures?
Haven't been on the computer much, had my ovary removed last monday and been recovering from that. Actually it was pretty easy, the laproscopic thing is the way to go! I'm going to post a question about my first follow up with my onco., hope you girlies see it and might be able to help.

The question I posted was about tumor markers. I'm having it done on Thurs with my first follow up visit with my oncologist and am not sure just what they are. Any one that could explain them to me?
Bugs that is a great picture of your son! Nice Catch! I love the picture of the flowers for your avatar. Sometime you'll have to come to St Cloud to Munsinger gardens, it's beautiful.

Welcome back Victoria. I love the pictures. I've never been to Hawaii, but would love to go. Pete just can't get away from the business for that long...it wouldn't be worth the big trip from PA to HI unless we had at least a week or more. Alas...Farming has many drawbacks!
Well, we did the Komen race again in Philly on Sunday and it was spectacular. To experience it with my friends and family is amazing and I hope we can go for 20 years! I'm posting two pictures of our group.

My curls are all "unfortunately" gone. Remember how I hated them? Now I miss them. Oh well...had my first highlight last week. And a trim. First time in a salon in over 2 years. It was weird. One of my best girlfriends from high school is also my hair dresser so she would come to my house for little trims here and there and to cut DH & the kids. I felt a bit out of place with my short hair in the salon. Again, it was weird.

Today is my 15th wedding anniversary. Wow! Seems like my whole life, then seems like yesterday. So much has happened with us. Two lost pregnancies, three healthy children, two cancers, his 24/7 farming job, me quitting my job...it all seems like it all fell into place this year. I hope that isn't a false sense of security. He's an amazing man, my best friend. I couldn't ask for any way better than to live life than with him and my kids. Here's to wishing (AGAIN) that it is a long, long life!!!
Cheers! (Wish that was with a cocktail...but alas...no

    Thanks VV!

Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. I had to share to all of you who know my boys play baseball. Nicky, my middle one, has been on a losing team all season. OMG, he cries like a baby after every game b/c his team stinks so bad & they've lost every game. He and one other player, the coach's son, are the only two of 13 that can pitch & catch. So....finally Friday night the coach gets this great idea...have Nicky pitch and his son catch, then switch midgame and have his kid pitch and Nicky catch. And we won!!! 7 - 2! We were so excited. The kids were all jumping up and down and hooting and hollaring. It was a scream. So, now that the monkey is off their back, they play again tonight. Only two more games...hopefully a second win is in there somewhere!

Thanks for all the kind anniversary wishes....Pete didn't get home from work until 9:30 that night. Oh well...#16 is on its way!

Congrats to Nicky! How did tonights game go? We had practice tonight and Gabe was up to bat and got hit pretty hard with the ball. Right smack dab on the elbow. He's icing it now. I'm thinking if it still hurts to move it (it's tender, but doesn't seem to cause extreme pain) tomorrow I may have to bring him in for X-ray. The big clue will be if he doesn't want to play tomorrow night's game, lol. Then I for sure will bring him in.

    Take care,

Well, it was a one win winning streak. We got creamed last night. Nicky pitched well, though, and had a double play (both outs by himself). I'm sure there is a name for that, but I can't remember (isn't that surprising?) Oh well, his last game is Saturday. They have one more chance! Peter plays tonight and Saturday as well. Then the playoffs and then the all stars if Nicky's nomination is accepted. We'll be playing baseball until the cows come home.

    Hi Kim,
I just love it. It must be such fun watching Nicky.
My grandaughter is the second best on her softball team( she's 10 ) anyway, they always lost EVERY season.
But this season they're on a winning streak.
She left me a message that she hit the winning home run!
last week, keeping my fingers crossed for Nicky & my Marissa.

    Hi ladies,

I had my 3 month check up on Friday. I was asking him about what aches and pains are normal and what are not and now he wants to do a bone scan "just to make sure" nothing is sneaking in there. So now, of course, my aches and pains are worse than before, lol. My bloodwork is great..and he did say that his suspicion level is not all that high.
Other than that..I have been working hard landscaping the front of my house. I am almost to the point of putting the mulch in. I have a small (very small) pond in there and I LOVE it.
OK..that's my small update. Oh..and I didn't get the job I was going for

    Take care,
    Bugs

Bugs, so sorry about the job. But the bloodwork news is great and you sound like you are feeling great too. You should post a picture of the landscaping when it's done. Don't you love accomplishing things again - getting past that Chemo fog?

Sorry about the job, Bugs. That's a bummer. But, as Carol said, the bloodwork is good and that is the most important thing, right?

I've been keeping you posted all season about my boys baseball games...well my oldest, Peter, made it to the minor A finals which will take place tomorrow at 5:30 (Fri). It just so happens that is the exact time that Bella, my youngest, has to be at the high school for her dance recital that starts at 6:00. Can you believe it? My luck, I tell ya. My whole family was going to come and see Bella, now we are dividing up so that there are fans at both events. And I'm devastated that I can't be in two places at once. Oh well....it could be worse...poor Nicky's team only won one game all season!

As I promised long ago, here are a few pics of Bella in her costumes. Yesterdays dress rehearsal had me in tears I was so proud!

    Kim you daughter is beautiful.

My daughter looked ridiculous in hers! It was built like the blue on but bright pink. Was obviously for a preschool sized kid and Megan is not, was about 5 inches too tall! Looked a little like a stripper!! But they couldn't change it - am sticking her in clogging next year - they usually get to wear pants!

Kim-the pictures are too cute. It looks like she LOVES dance!

Kari- clogging? seriously? I honestly didn't know that was still out there.

V-Congrats on the 4 lb! I, too, have noticed how hard it is to get the scale to move...down. Mine has NO problem moving UP, lol.

Thanks all on the job deal. I am OK..was bummed for a day, but in the scheme of things it's all good. My bone scan is today..wish me luck. I am feeling OK with it..I think all will be well.
I hope to get the mulch in this weekend..and you can bet I will post a pic or two. My plants will look wilted as I go for the "I think those need to be split" to my friends so I can get them for free

I'm back to work and haven't been on the board lately. Just wanted to say 'hi'. Like you Bugs, my 3 month blood work was good. I too have some aches and pains....I know how you feel. Will have a pet scan at my 6 month check up in Sept. That will be my one year mark.
I'm doing the 3-day walk in Minneapolis in August, so have been trying to get this pillsbury dough boy bod into shape.
Kim...love the pictures of your little girl...what a cutie! Hope everyone is having a good summer.
Bugs, how was your bone scan?

    Kim,

Your daughter is a beautiful little dancer. My daughter just had her recital also, but she is 12 and has been dancing for 9 years. Every time she walks out on that stage, I picture my 3 year-old doing her ballet steps and waving to me in the audience...and then I cry like a big baby!

Hi also to all the Stage III girls. I've haven't been posting much lately, but I'm glad I clicked on this thread!

    Hugs,
    Sue

Thanks everyone for your kind statements about Bella. Of course I think she's the prettiest dancer ever...but you Mom's of dancers know that feeling, don't you?!
Sue, its good to see you! How have you been? I hope the summer treats you well and you pop in every now and then.
I have my annual mammo in NY on Wednesday. MRI in Jan, Mammo in June. I know everything is fine and I'm frankly annoyed that I have to take an entire day to go have a test on one boob that takes all of 5 minutes to do. But when I committed to going to NY for treatment, I knew this was part of it. Cross my fingers that all is well.
Peter's team won the game Friday night (the night that Bella had her recital) so they played the same team on Saturday morning and ended losing. They were then called the runners up and received really nice trophies. It was a great season for them.
Nicky, as you know, lost all but one game and had a miserable season, made completely better by being placed on the All Star team! He is so excited. I'm so proud. Only 12 boys out of 88 were picked. So we are back into baseball having been done for about 5 hours yesterday before we found out about Nicky. He starts daily, yes daily, practice on Tuesday. And so it continues....
    Take care all,
    Kim

Oscarsmom-Thanks for asking..the bone scan went well! Much shorter time laying there than a PET scan. The tech was so nice. I asked him if the scan showed up on the computer and he said yes. I asked if I could see it and he said yes. I asked if he saw any hot spots (cancer) and he said "you know I can't tell you anything". I said, yeah, I know. I looked at it some more and said "well, in my uneducated opinion...I don't see any". He said "well, in my educated opinion it looks like you are just here for a baseline scan". Then said he would deny it to his dying day and the "real doctor" still had to look at it, but he's been doing this for years. SO, all clear ....still need to have the "real doctor" say all clear...but I'm happy with the tech version right now, lol.
Got my landscaping all done and pictures are taken. I am just too whipped right now to upload them

Kim-Congrats to Peter!! And Nicky getting picked for All Stars? How exciting! We have a couple of weeks of baseball left. I'm actually not sure where we are in the ranking, but there has only been one loss.

    Good night all,
    Bugs
