Happy belated Mothers day Janis, I hope it was wonderful.
How goes your job hunt? I so pray that you will find one.
Randi -
Hey sistas~
Hope all you mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day (especially you, Miss Janis)
Went at lunch today and bought a new monitor. Still can't believe my old one only lasted 2 yrs and 8 months! Grrrr! But - I can't live without my puter. Or least I act like I can't!
Ready to get out of this boring office, go home, do yardwork, and sip a cold beer!
Cheers,
Donna -
Happy Belated MD to all of the mommas here!
Donna- same as you, I was off today, but planted tons of flowers and now having a glass of vino, to go with the dinner I made.
Janis- waiting for some new pics. I hope you had a wonderful 1st mother's day. I bet it is weird to think back on a year ago and how your life has changed and gotten so much better! -

My 1st Mother's Day was great - it still hasn't sunken in, though, that I'm actually Avery's mom.....
No new job yet.
Jaybird -
Just remember that as Women we are all Mom's to something or someone! So hope all had a wonderful Mother's day!
Tired so going to zone for a while before bed! -
Evening ladies! Someone wanna pass me a triple shot!
Got the results of the liver biospsy, I start Chemo on the 25th!
Hope you all are doing well
Hugs and cheers! -
HUH? Bad news then? Well, grap thee some herb and chill! Seriously, though, good luck! (and get some herb!) Will think of you and send good thoughts that day.....
Jaybird -
CY - I ahve been on a sadness binge the past couple of days. I am sorry about your news, but I know your stronger than this- Kick some ass!
-
{{{H U G G S S S}}} to CY!
Passing you a triple shot and pulling out a 6-pack for me! What bummer news--will be holding your hand on the 25th! Another bump (BIG bump) on the road we travel--but we're right there with you!
you hang tuff!
junie -
Dammit Cheryl! So sorry to hear your news. I agree with Janis on the herb though.
I'll be thinking of you and how STRONG YOU ARE. Can't wait to meet you at Pinkstock!
((hugs))
Donna -
Mee to but nowe you all will really have to drink for me! since I won't be able to!
-
Oh Cheryl- Donna and I have had a lil party over the phone, I think, God-willing and the creek don't rise, the two of us will be able to cover your share, with toasts to your health!
-
CY - will be thinking of you starting chemo on the 25th - hang tuff and kill the monster!!!
Just got back from South Dakota - spent a few days drinking and gambling in Deadwood, ate and played at Kevin Costner's casino, saw Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Wish I didn't have to come back to real life!!! -
What up Ladies!!! I'm still around, busy with my baby girl, busy with gardening, busy with work, busy with trying to find a new job...
Phew ~ no wonder I'm so tired!
That's all, just hanging low and enjoying the pre-summer summer-like weather here. I'm not happy that global warming is now a fact of all of our lives but I, for one, DO like it warmer as opposed to being colder.....
Cheers to all my lady friends!
Jaybird -
Hi, y'all--getting ready to be bombarded for long week-end with kids and s/o's--praying that the rain moves on and we have nice weather. Then, heading to Tunica, MS, for a couple days' gambling--Sam, Christine--gonna play some 3-card poker for you!!!
Janis--gonna be a grandma again--two of them--this fall--love those babies--post more pics of Avery!!!
CY--thinking of you!!!!
huggggssssss, junie -
HI All,
CY, damn I'm sorry to hear that.
I am so bummed too. The one girl in the world that took care of me when I was first dx, her and her sister just took me under their wings and took me all the way to the end of my battle with Cancer than took me to the Bahamas to celebrate. Well she just got news of a recurrence, first one in 9 damn years. WHY, I'm sick over this. Why why why should anyone have to deal with Cancer more than once. It should be like the chicken pox, get it deal with it. gone. never to come back.
I hate this disease..........
Other than that bad thing. I'M LOVING LIFE, LOVE LOVE LOVE MY NEW JOB.,
Miss you all so much.
I hope you and we all have a nice holiday weekend.
Jaybird, I'm still praying you find a job!!!!!!!!!!!!
Randi -
Hey sistas~
Randi - so sorry to hear about your friend. It's like a freakin' epidemic!
Cheryl - how are you doing sweetie? How is the chemo going?
My house is kickin' my butt....sort of have a love/hate relationship with it. I just need about a month off (and a big bag of $$) to work on it!
I think I know the REAL cause of global warming. It's all us baby-boomers having hot flashes. Can you imagine what would happen is we ALL had a hot flash at the same time?
Looking forward to a long 3-day weekend. Going to Joplin, MO to visit a friend who just left her butthead husband and I'll stay with her tomorrow night and see her new place.
Everyone have a safe weekend, and enjoy a cocktail (or two or three).
Cheers,
Donna -
Thanks Donna, it is sick.
I hear you on a love/hate relationship with your house, I feel the same, I need money to do all the things I want.
Have a safe a wonderful weekend all.................. -
Been haveing tons of hot flashes this past week!
Got my power port and first chemo yesterday! Doing ok just tired and sore.
Got to hold the new grandbaby a couple a days befroe this started and can't wait till I can hold him again!
My folks are here and trying to help where they can.
Having a few days off work has been great!
Getting really tired so I'm off to bed!
I agree we want to see how little Miss Avery is growing!
Love you all -
Cheryl,
I hope you figure out something for the hot flashes! I was in the middle of chemo during the hottest summer on record here in Chicago. I swear I was just sweating all frickin' day and night long! I now take something (not to be mentioned here) for them and actually have somewhat of a libido again.....
As for Miss Avery, she's a doll! Clingy, but that's okay! If she went to just anyone that would not be a good thing, especially with her being adopted. So I can truly say that she's adjusted quite well. As soon as I get the latest film developed I PROMISE a picture!
Jaybird, loving motherhood..... -
Hope all are having a fun holiday week-end! Unfortunately, the rain is still with us! Each boating trip with the kids has entailed a monsoon while out on the lake! Aha idea! This afternoon, wrapped one of the boat tarps around us girls--did get a bit wet, but it really cut down the chill from the wind. And, how cool is this--I taught 2 people the trick of hiding peeing in a plastic cup so you don't have to get in the cold lake water--gross, I know--but so friggin' practical! I love the person who clued me into that little trick--makes any lake outing quite bearable--cause I need to go a lot!
Anyways, all have a wonderful and safe holiday week-end! -
Junie you are too funny! I hate going out on the boats for that very reason, besides I get sea sick!
Janis, we are going to hold you to that promise! -
Hi Everyone-
Junie LOL- I was down at the Lake of the Ozarks this weekend, only got out on the boat once, it was so choppy and crowded. People are crazy on the Holiday weekends. Luckily we found a new lil bar on the water and they had bathrooms! No lake water for me, until I heal a wound, whic may be never at this point. Hope you did well at 3 Card. Yay. more babies to love for you. Let me know when you are in StL.
Donna we need to catch up. Thanks for the email, we need to remember those tips when we are on the road.
Janis, when it gets warm enough to go to the beach, I am sure you'll get some awesome Avery pics.
It is the first summer my one yr old niece gets to put on a life jacket and ride in the boats on the lake, those pics are priceless.
Hope everyone had a great holiday, I went straight from the Lake to work tonight, back to reality. -
Hi sistas~
Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend. They sure do fly by.
Finally have a sunny day here today. I'd forgotten what the sun looks like.
Cheryl - sounds like you're doing okay. I'll be sure and have a drink in your honor tonight. I can tell already I'll be stopping at the licka sto after work for a bottle of wine.
Have a great day everyone!
Cheers,
Donna -
ok i haven't forgotten you...
Cy hugs ...setting up a special chair for you under the princess tent...do you want fuzzy slippers too?....can't wait til Aug...
Ok went to a family thing...hate the crap but love seeing everyone...and stopped for a wine tasting on the way home....didn't go over board but did buy some good wines...I'll wait for the weekend to enjoy the ice wine...yummy....
hugs MB -
Hola Ladies!
I'm still around, drinking less (too busy or too tired to) but I check-in here almost every day and try to keep up on ya'all.
No new job yet, which sucks!
Avery got over her ear infection and then just this past week had a day of high temps (Kindercare sent her home! ) but she got over that, too, and is just as wonderful as can be! I have no time to take pics so the camera is STILL waiting to be taken in for development.....
I was supposed to do the Avon 2-day BC walk but I didn't raise enough funds so I have the entire weekend off (woo-hoo!!!) and will spend it doing yardwork and trying to clean the house. 'Trying' being the operative word here - who wants to clean when there's a cute baby to play with?
Well, Cheers Ladies! I'm gonna have a few cold beers tonight when I get done mowing the lawn!
Jaybird -
Back from our little gambling jaunt to Tunica--had a blast! Sam/ChristineK--played that 3-card poker til I couldn't walk or talk! Had some good hands, but of course, played most of it back! Ate too much, drank too much--got way used to a Bloody Mary at 8 a.m. Left in rain--came home to rain--I am SICK of rain!!!! Only bummer thing was valet service wrecked the bumper on our van--we filed a report with the casino but of course, they have all these we're not liable disclaimers so we'll see if we get anywhere with getting the bumper replaced.
Got caught up on laundry today. No company until next week-end--hoping for a relaxing week until then...
Janis--hope Avery is feeling good now--post some pics for us when you get a chance!!! -
I wanna Blew Rink!
thinking of you all! -
Cy sending you some blue koolaid...I know its not the kinda blue drink you want...
Ok went to Chuck E Cheese for GrandD Bday..hmmm..now I know why I've never been...finished off a whole bottle of wine....
Janis..JMO...when my kids were little...they came first...if I invited you to my house it was clean, if you drop in..well...I'm sure I could find a spot for you to sit, but I was probably outside making mud pies or doing playdoh...so take it easy on yourself...
cheers to all...
MB -
Hey sistas ~
Junie - sounds like the perfect vaca to me!
Guess you didn't win a million $$ or you probably would have mentioned it....
Cheryl - thinking of you girl. Sounds like MB has you all set up for Pinkstock. I can't WAIT!!!!!
Working my ass off (not literally, unfortunately) on my yard and house. Holy crap - it's like I take one step forward and two steps back. For every one thing I fix, two more break! VERY glad the BF is handy at fixing things, or I'd really be in a mess!
Sipping a Savignon (sp?) Blanc. Very refreshing after toiling in the yard for 2 freakin' hours. You'd think I'd just be a stick from all the sweating, but NO - I continue to pack it on. I'm SURE it can't be the wine...
Cheers,
Donna
