We eat wild salmon (fresh frozen) and I also keep canned salmon on hand for pattis, loaves, kedgeree, etc....
I buy troll caught tuna for tuna salads or to add to pasta dishes.
Occasionally I will buy wild shrimp. DH refuses to eat farmed these days.
Tilapia if it is on sale.
My all time favorite is Black Cod, but you need a small loan for it!!! -
ooh, Black Cod
never heard of it
where do you get it
best Seafood I had in Maine
and out in California
but..Ill try some tuna
with pasta.. do that cold in summertime
salads
Trout.. if it is farmed
I do not like that mud taste
Best )
I love shrimp
and lobster
but near the ocean MAINELY -
I love shrimp, lobster, scallops, crab, even calamari (squid)! Salmon is my favorite fish and that's good since it's so healthy. I also love tuna steak, but am worried about the mercury, so I don't eat too much of it. I also love tilapia, but it doesn't have all of the great health benefits...still, it is a source of protein.
I've had a virus all weekend and hardly eaten. I guess I'm over it because this discussion is making me ravenous!!!! -
Hi Fitchik:
just on way to get some fish
for tonight
I love calamari.. adore it.. yumm
tuna steak too.. scallops.. uh oh.. fattening LOL for me
I know tilapia not the best one
for benefits.. but avoiding meat
also
pickerel
red and yellow snapper
(dont get it much here)
roughy (orange)
then abalone..
but these we can not get here
much..
I hope you feel better soon
no fun having a virus..
take care )

Black cod has the highest omega-3 content.
It is a wild caught fish near Alaska. It is also $17-20/pound.
I swear it tastes better than lobster! -
It took me a long time to learn to eat fish. I now eat ahi tuna, salmon, and even ate some fresh fish native to Hawaii when I was there. I'll eat calamari if it's fried. Being from CA, I eat fresh crab when it's in season, and I also like shrimp, lobster, and scallops.

Hi Gals:
Margaret.. well I know you have
great seafood out there
miss it a lot
specially down at Fisherman's Wharf
Wallycat: I priced it here
$20.00 a pound
too much for me
but I did have a lovely piece
of halibut last night
$8.00
treat for me -
We make this frequently at home because it is so quick and delicious. I dice tomato and avocado chunks to toss with the shrimp, serving it with brown rice or on a roll like a po' boy.
1.5 lbs cleaned deveined shrimp
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1tbl chili powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1.5 tbl olive oil divided
Place all spices and dry ingredients in a large bowl, mixing well. Toss over shrimp, coating them well with spice mixture. Place half the oil in fry pan on med-high heat. Place 1/2 the shrimp in skillet and saute until cooked. Remove from pan, keep warm. Add the remaining oil and cook remaining shrimp. It has a carmelized spicy coating when done. I usually place rice on a platter, shrimp on top with diced tomato/avocado on the sides.

That does sound great.
I'm making Black cod saturday (also known as Sable fish) ...late birthday celebration for myself and it was on sale for 14.99 (man, I wish this was cheaper!!) -
I LOVE shrimp! Tonight I'm sauteing shrimp with garlic and chick peas. Then I serve it warm over a bed a organic field greens, drizzle a little balsamic vinagrette and some EVOO...delicious.
