Yes, a recurrance can show up in the form of a small pimple or rash like area. If you have an area of concern that doesn't go away in a couple of days, have it looked at. Most likely it's just a skin blemish. However, once we have been bitten by cancer, it's best to stay proactive.

Thank you for your reply!!! I have had this round red thing on my chest about 2 or 3 inches above my clevage . Its about the size of a pea but flatter...more like a squashed pea : ). It does bother me and my g.p. is sending me to a dermatologist for a biopsy. But I never heard of skin lesion being connected to bc. Thank you again! I was relieved to see someone answered my post. I was hoping no one thought I was some kind of nut or dummy.

I had something that matched your description exactly. It was between my lumpectomy scar and my mastectomy scar. It completely freaked me out.

I went to the breast surgeon. He didn't think it was alarming. I insisted on a punch biopsy. It was a benign, inflamed cystic lesion. In other words, just a skin cyst.

That was November. It has completely flattened out, but that might be due to the fact that I had expanders put in in January and the skin has been S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-D.

I had cancer grow back into my mastectomy scar in three weeks about 4cc and a rash all over my skin. That is very aggressive. What does this mean? Will cancer show now anywhere in my skin? It did not show on the CAT as a lesion and the biopsy showed Cancer-is the MRI the proper tool for detection?

Does anyone answer these posts? The dates look so old?

Thanks if you answer Cathleen8 stage1V invasive, advanced breast cancer +9 nodes +++Her-2 -hormones ILC

    Cathleen,

Yes, sometimes the cancer can mets to your skin. I don't think that you will necessarily get other lesions on your body, but I don't underestimate this stinky cancer. Did your doc restage you to IBC?

Herceptin really will kick the cancer out! You will probably have radiation, too, which should clean up any cancer that went to your skin. I am sorry that this happened to you. I hope that you do okay on your txs. It will get better.

    Hugs and Prayers,
    Lexi

Inflamatory Breast Cancer. It starts as a rash that does not go away. You need to have a skin biopsy to determine if it is IBC

I have a similar question about earliest symptoms, with as many people as possible, who have dealt with Inflamatory Cancer. I had a lumpectomy and the closest lymph node removed about 6 mos. ago.

My last radiation treatments ended in Jan.08, and I have been taking the Arimidex for several mos. now. Over 3 weeks ago I developed a sizeable pink patch that itched intensely, not close at all to the previous surgical site, but on the same breast. I've seen 3 (2 of which are oncologists) different Drs. over this time, to look at it, and say it is probably just contact dermatitis (allergy reaction). The each prescribed something different to try. The oral prednisone pack did stop the itch while I was actively taking it, but it definitely did not go away, or reduce the size of the pink patch.  I have some pain and achiness, in various parts of the breast and upper side, but I don't know if that is likely to be left over pain from the surgery last fall, or caused by the Arimidex. I don't have any problems with my other breast, and what could the underside of this breast have come in contact with, that the other did not , to cause an allergic reaction on only one. Please, any and all who might have some experience with this type of cancer, tell me what they're earliest symptoms were, to give me an idea of being paranoid or in need of an immediate surgical biopsy.   bb
