My mom was just diagnosed last Wednesday

I am so scared. Today is my mom's appointment with the Oncologist...we know for sure that she has to have a mastectomy next Wednesday but today we also get the results of her body scan. I can't help but feel sick and angry. I am just hoping it hasn't spred anywhere else but the doctors did say it wasn't contained. How do we deal with this? She will be goign through 6 months of chemo...so far

    Missy, the hardest part is waiting for test results. I have found when our family finally learns the results of mom's tests, good or bad, at least we know what we are facing and get on with the game plan.

    I get angry and scared and then really really angry again. It's hard watching someone you love go through this. The only advice i offer is just be supportive and do things for you mom to help her out, going to grocery store, cooking meals, laundry, whatever. My mom lives about 3 hrs from me so my sister and i would cook meals, freeze them, and take them to my mom and dad on the weekend. They BOTH appreciated that. Little things mean alot.
