As Stacey knows, I haven't liked green tea and really wanted to be able to drink it for its healthy qualities. Isn't this an awesome idea! I'll be green tea-logged in no time!

    Thanks, Stacey!

I read the darndest things sometimes. One of them is not to put any milk products in tea. If the coconut cream is made with water it might not be a problem. Mixing with milk takes all the health benefits of teas out. Sorry.

I'm taking back what I just wrote, I went to look to be sure and I read the exact opposite. Milk doesn't inhibit all the goodies in tea. Yet, I just got something from the Feds about it a couple of weeks ago. Gotta watch those Feds.

Ok, I'm not going crazy. Just the wrong disease:

The good thing about the flavored creame is that is doesnt have any milk in it. It has a milk "derivitive" mostly sugar, water. Oh for those that drink coffee mixing the coconut cream and white chocolate coffee creamer makes the coffee taste like a "almond joy" YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Hey if your drinking loose leaf green tea like me, you can combine the green with ciniman, apricot, or any other flavor you store has, then you get the benifits, but tast a different flavor.

I like the taste of the flavored green teas. Right now I have Lemon Zinger and Raspberry. Celestial Seasonings has lots of flavors. No added sugars, fat or calories.

Try making it into iced green tea if you don't care for the taste hot. All my kids' friends love my iced green tea and in the summer, we go through 1-2 pitchers a day. Just make it as you would regular iced tea adding or not adding as you prefer--lemon, sugar, sugar substitute, mint, honey, other herbal tea bags--whatever.

HEY, IF YOU WANT A NATURAL SWEETNER, USE 100% STEVIA,ALSO KNOWN AS SWEET LEAF. IT COMES IN LIQUID OR POWDER. THE LIQUID KIND I USE, IS CINNAMON STEVIA. A FEW DROPS IN BEVERAGES WILL DO IT, DEPENDING ON YOUR SWEET TOOTH.I USE IT IN PLACE OF ANY TYPE OF SUGAR, OR ANY OF THE PINK, BLUE OR YELLOW PKG.STUFF. IT'S FROM THE STEVIA PLANT AND HAS BEEN USED IN SO. AMERICA FOR YEARS AS A SWEETNER.. IT'S ACTUALLY HEALTHY FOR YOU. NOT APPROVED BY FDA (OF COURSE NOT) BECAUSE IT WOULD DETER FROM THE SUGAR INDUSTRY.IV'E BEEN USING FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW.
HERE IS THEIR WEB SITE IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE INFO:
    www.INOVNATPROD.COM
ALSO, YOU CAN BUY IT AT TRADER JOE'S, WHOLE EARTH MARKET, WILD OATS, OR SUNFLOWER MARKETS.

I've been diabetic since 1980 and still can't get used to the taste of Stevia. Some people swear by it, but I'd rather go w/out. I know it is natural, but taste more chemical to me.

I have tried & really like the Lipton Brand Green tea To Go. They are little packets of tea that you mix with bottled water. My favorite is cherry blossom. They are sugar free & 0 calories. I've also tried mandarin & mango & I think they make a regular lemon flavored green tea. I get so tired of drinking plain water so this is a great way to get some added benefits.

I'm not big on the green tea taste either but I've found that it's such a mild taste, that it's easy to mask with other teas. So when I make a pot of either hot tea or iced tea, I use a couple of bags of green tea along with a couple of bags of whatever other tea I want. The flavor of the other tea always overpowers the green tea, so there's no green tea taste, although I'm still getting the benefit.

    I take Green Tea capsules.

I think the 'milk in tea' is for black tea - supposedly neutralizes benefits. I don't know if same would be for green tea.

I believe this is based on English black tea drinkers - drinking black tea doesn't seem to reduce their risk of cancer, thus, the milk theory since they use milk in tea.

Are the Green Tea capsules just as beneficial as drinking green tea? I take them too. Kate

    Hello CaliforniaKate
The makers of the capsules claim they are just as good. I buy online at drugstore.com. Great bargains on shipping and you collect percent of what you spend to use as discount for future purchases. I love the site!

I take "Natures Bounty" Green Tea Extract - 315 mg each. Directions are to take 2 caps twice a day. I take 2 at breakfast and 2 at lunch. The reason I take 2 at lunch is cause of maybe caffeine? I don't know if any caffeine in the caps and don't want caffeine keeping me awake at night.

I researched Nature's Bounty and they are dependable manufacturer. Some do not give you all of what they say are in product.

    Hey lynnellb-
I LOVE the Cherry Blossom, although I sometimes still worry about those artificial sweetners. I am diabetic and have been usine them for years, so I guess I am not that worried.

Hey Katymom and the rest of you!
I heard and read also about green tea and NOT doing chemo at same time.

I found, and you can get a catelog as there are TONS of different kinds of green teas, white tea adn basically anykind of tea you want at: www.bigelow.com

I found some herbal tea, with natural fruit flavors for the entire family in there, with, manderine tea, pomagranted pizazza tea, tropical, and berry tea, sounds great to me..I believe its like 14.00 for 80-120 bags all in foil....I think Im going to order maaybe a few boxes, as all 4 flavors come in one nice box, and would really make nice gifts, like your needing to buy for a whole family or just wanted to take a gift along with you like when your invited to dinner at their home.

    Thanks for the tip.

I like my green tea loose hot and without sugar.

But when the Hot Weather comes I want Ice tea and I don't like Green tea cold, nor do I like flavored teas---

So, this sounds like a perfect solution for me.

    Thank you!

I'm a little late to the party but I add a few tea bags along with some cardamon pods to the bottom of the pot when I make coffee; since I add milk (just bought almond mik for the first time). cinnomon and splenda/ truvia, I really cant taste the green tea but I figure I'm getting the benefits.

I use milk shakes is my favorite in my green tea. It also increases the metabolism rate helping the body to burn more fat thus another way it can aid in weight loss. It contains the same free radical fighting antioxidants as the tea.

    Thanks........

Try making the green tea and adding a cinnamon stick as well as fresh mint leaves. It is delicious that way.

Also I was told by a holistic nutritionist that the best green tea to drink (i.e. most powerful) is Japanese Sensha Green Tea. It is more effective than the other kinds. You can buy it organic or not organic. I even saw a big box of Japanese Sensha at Costco although I buy mine at a health food store.

    Hi,

As you may know there are many health benefits that we get from drinking this tea. But there are some green tea side effects you must know about before you include this tea into your daily routine. Most of us already know that this tea increases energy and has many health benefits. But it can also be not so good for some people. Most of us think about some of these teas as a "cure all" and when we have certain health problems we drink these teas to help correct the problems and as you may found out there are many different kinds of teas out there.

    Thanks

My nutritionist has told me that milk takes away from the benefits of green tea and so does drinking it iced.  It should be hot and freshly brewed, with no milk.  Lemon and sugar are OK.

I really really love the idea of adding different teabags to it!!!  brilliant!

Hi ladies, I just saw this thread.  I'd like to add my 2 cents.  I've started a thread called "Starving Cancer".  It is done by a California Doctor/Reseacher.  Please take a look at the link.

He talks about drinking Chinese Jasmine tea with Japanese Green tea.  Or Earl Grey is also great.  Take a look.

BTW, there are diffferent brands of Japanese green tea that does not have the grassy taste.  Try to get them from Asian Grocery store.
