Mary, I got your note and PMed her. Mine isn't blocked. I'm not sure what she was doing. Anyhow, the WIND here is awful, awful, awful. It's even worse than yesterday so my flowers will have to wait another day. I got off work early today too so I came home and took a nap. That was weird cuz I never sleep in the daytime. I think it's the drugs I'm taking for my back, but you know that things that are supposed to make people drowsy usually work the opposite way with me like benedryl turning me into the energizer bunny--so I'm surprised that this stuff actually does make me sleepy. It's kinda nice. We're supposed to have a huge thunderstorm tonight 80% chance of high winds and hail. My niece down in Texas turned 28 yesterday. I called her and sang to her--she was sick and in my defense she didn't feel well long before I sang to her, but my singing has been known to cause adverse reactions in people Gosh, I have so much work to do. Maybe the nap will have given me the energy to actually get something done about this messy, messy house--then again--I could take a long, hot shower and relax with a bowl of popcorn and watch Survivor. I think knowing me that I'll pick option two and the house will stay messy!!!! Have a great rest of the day my Junies. Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Hey NL thanks, popcorn sounds good. I had a sing thing to go to at my grandaughters school so now I am home and in my jammies. It has rained 2 days now and it is chilly again. Tomorrow it is going to get back in the 70's, thank the Lord. I almost put my electric blanket back on tonight. I think you and I could really make music because I can't stand to hear myself, yea it's that bad. We could rap together and make some money. I thought of hiring myself out as a rodent ridder. Yea, I go in and sing and the pest run for their lives, mice, rats, spiders, you name it. I don't know whats wrong with my back but they MRIed it a while back and said it's fine just arth. and 2 old herniated discs but I hurt every day with it. I pop a pill and go but by evening I am in pain a lot. I live with my heat pad. Well I am going to settle down with my t.v. I like to watch King of Queens reruns from 9 to 10.P.J. must be busy helping Mom and Janie is catching up those pesty files. Later girls, Mary
-
Mary, the shower was nice, the popcorn good and I saw Survivor from beginning to end. My house on the other hand is still a mess and I think I'm having company this weekend. Oh, well, I hope it's me they're coming to see and not the house!! Listen to me justify my laziness!!!!! On the Relay for Life front, I've already gone over my goal of $1000 by $150. That's kinda cool. It doesn't take place until July 20th so I guess now I can sit back and let the other people on my team make $$. Can you see me doing that???? Me neither. I sold some luminaries today. Maybe I'll change my goal up to $1500 or $2000. HMMM?? I wonder if that's doable??? Well, I'm watching this creepy movie on Lifetime with William E. Moses in it and that girl from Young and the Restless. It's pretty good so I think I'll log off and actually sit and watch it. HI PJ and Janie. I got an inch of rain last night, but no hail. Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

mary, back pain is the worst. do you have any rice towels? they get into crevices better. just fold over a wash cloth or hand towel or whatever you choose and stitch around it leaving a hole big enough to pour dry rice in. stitch until totally closed. leave it floppy enough to be flexible. put in microwave for a couple of minutes and put it where it hurts.
i go for a custom fitting tuesday, no not a bride, getting a day and night sleeve and glove....also getting a machine. will be set for life regarding LE.
nl pass the popcorn. i can actually smell it just thinking about it -
Congrats. on the money raised N.L. thats great!!!!! Janie, I am going to make a rice towel today. That sounds like it would feel good. I have heard of rice micro. things but never actually saw one. Thanks. I hope your arm gets better with all your stuff. That has to really suck Janie. I feel bad for you having to do all that. I have to make an apt. with the neuro guy for 2 wks. so I hope to find out about the Parkinsons then. He didn't say last time. He was more worried about the blood work. I see my new Dr. Tue. for a first apt. I actually see my old Dt. Mon. because she wants to see me about my Thyroid Bio. which was like a month ago. I already know about it but I will see what she has to offer, a last apt. She doean't know I am leaving. I won't mention that. I haven't requested a file transfer yet, want to make sure I like new Doc. If she is in a wk. out of a month she should be better than old one. Hope all the equipement works Janie. N.L. you go girlfriend, You are dong great. Hi to P.J. Hugs, Mary

Oh, I went yesterday to get my nails done and they were busy, prom tonight. I asked the girl if she could freelance a ribbon on my thumb nail like the one on my shirt. I had my sweatshirt on with the B.C. ribbon stitched on the shoulder. I pointed to it and she said yes. Now no one speaks much english there and no one really understands a word they say but you muddle through. She gets me all done and I get out to the car and put my reading glasses on and looked at my nail. It was a flower with yellow and white!!! It is pretty but not what I wanted at all. I wanted my B.C. ribbon in pink. I went back a few hours later and they were still busy so I am going back today and see if I can get what I want. Anyone know korean for pink ribbon? Mary
-
oy, mary, i guess you're lucky you ended up with just a flower and not something, well, awful!
been busy with mom. sounds like you all have been busy, too. one of my sisters is here for the weekend, so we went out and got mom a gas grill for mother's day and used it last night. delish.
janie, ok, so now you make me think i should take my LE a little more seriously. so, yours actually gets smaller? mine has just stayed the same for a year and a half. as for the massage, i can't really figure out what to do by myself. actually, it usually feels a little harder or something after i do the massage.
anyway, back to unpack some more. you guys have a great weekend.

Happy Cinco de Mayo, my Junies!! It keeps raining and raining and raining--I may have to look for ark plans soon. My brother and uncle O. started out to see me this a.m. and had a flat tire on the trailer that they were pulling. They went back to Plentywood and will try again tomorrow, but I gotta call and tell them that it's still raining and getting pretty darn muddy around this place. I just took some really pretty fake flowers up and wired them to the fence that's around my Dad's "place on the hill" above the house. I waited until the rain let up a little, but it started pouring on me after I got up there. It's not very far from the house, but I was soaked when I got back. I had to put on dry clothes so I put on my flannel jammies. NICE!! Well, I tried to watch the Nascar race tonight but it's raining there too. SIGH!! Glad to see everyone back-- Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
-
Good morning girls, Glad mom's moved in and you guys are haveing some fun times P.J. I cook on my grill a lot, even when its just me. Nancy, we finally got rid of the rain. It is cool this a.m. but should warm up. I am so ready to blow this weather and go out west!!!! I went back and got my ribbon and a guy did it and he did a great job! I just have one ribbon on my thumb sorta to celebrate my bravery, if thats what you call it. It isn't real noticable but it's there. Glad everyones doing fine. I have grandkids and I cooked hotdags on the grill and played kick ball and baseball all evening, I am too old to run! My shoulder is killing me today. I will be finding out what is causing that soon, I hope. Janie, hope your arm is getting better. Will you be working over the summer? Better go. Later girls, have a great day. Mary
-
Put on a pair of big clunky overshoes I found in the porch and trooped out to the rain gauge. It says a tick under 3 inches!! So of course I have the sump pumps going full blast in the cellar. My brother isn't coming til next weekend because if he did come here to load a tractor on a trailer, they'd get stuck in the front yard or on the road. Next Saturday I'm supposed to go to Billings for the Montana Womans' Run. It's this huge run/walk that takes place every year on the day before Mother's Day. I think I'll wear my shirt from the 1997 event just because it's the one that's in the best shape of the old ones and it's still in one piece after 20 years. God, I'm old!! So I told my brother that he'd have to see me on Sunday unless he wants to go to Billings and stand on the curb and wave to me!! Mary, my ankle where I broke it in 2003 hurts whenever a weather front is going through and that's no joke. Maybe your shoulder hurts due to the change in the weather?? Does anyone want a cat? Mine is driving me bonkers. He's into EVERYTHING this morning. Well, hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday Life is Good Smiles NancyLee Oh, I opened a Dove Promise Dark Chocolate just now and the inside of the wrapper said, "Life is Beautiful"--I couldn't agree more!!
-
Well, finally got to watch the race. My Jeff is still leading the point standing and Jimmie won so I'm a happy camper. Well, except for the fact that I've started pairing up the animals and building the get-away ship. It's STILL RAINING and now the rain gauge says a tick under 4 inches. Yikes--my little creek below the house looks like a river and my living room ceiling along with the porch have joined the basement in leaking. I have bowls with towels in them sitting all over my house catching drips of water. HELP!!! Life is Good, but WET Smiles NancyLee
-
Hubby will be happy too, Jeffy fans here. Hey speaking of...I could send him your way to fix those leaks. Now I wont make any promises but he would look and sound like a real fixer-upper man. I would go ahead with the ark though because I wouldn't count on ever living in the house after he fixes it. I bet you are sick of rain huh? Good luck, you can swim? Mary
-
Mary, I do not work in my regular school job during the summer. Will be off from June 1 to July 26. I may do some private practice stuff, .........or maybe not.
Nancy, More to the point, can you tread water?
PJ, keep a watch on the arm. This is not fun. Will be glad when all the appointments are over and done with....been going almost daily. A new patient is 99 years old! She is so funny and so alert.
Have a good week. -
Hey Girls, Janie, take the summer and travel the world. That sounded good huh? I couldn't get outta town the way things are going here. Our new ins. that started in Dec. doesn't pay for my Onky and I don't think I should have to change to one of their group people and the closest one is St. Louis. They are not paying for any lab nor any of hubby's Drs. They don't even have a spine guy around here and they only paid $600.00 for his 3 M.R.I.'s so we still owe over $3000.00, I wonder if they want that in big bills? They keep trying to say I have a pre existing desease and I have to call and they just are moving really slow so thank the Lord I don't have a home phone or they would be bugging me. Hubby gave his 2 wk. notice today and has decided he has to have pain meds. They put him on a tarp van and the tarp kept comming loose so he would have to get out and fix it and pull it tight and he said he couldn't move for about 3 hours. I am really glad because I have heard about people getting shot in their trucks and robbed and beat up so I am glad. I may have to hurt him having him home a lot but we will deal with that. Well I am finally getting an M.R.I. of my shoulder that has hurt so bad I can hardly use it since Feb. and my Dr. said the anxiety attacks are my thyroid working aginst itself. It is too slow but kicks in all of a sudden and throws too much out(I told her I thought that was happening way back when). She said it's inflammed and this could last for a while. It has been about 9 months, hello! This was my old Dr. and I had to go to see her because she called. She is getting me some PT on my back too. I go to check out the new prospective Doc. tomorrow. I just feel I need a Dr. thats in at least a couple wks. a month and I don't get told to go to the E.R. when I need a Doc. I like my Doc. but she is sick (really) a lot. Well girls I better get going, Ya know, I don't do much in the house work neighborhood anymore, I guess I need to try a little now and again. That would be good P.T. for hubby; think he'd go for that? If I told him his Doc. said? He does help but gets side tracked cause he is hyper. Oh boy, him and his not finishing a job. This will be interesting. Later, Mary
-
Oh, No, Mary, Tim the toolman moves back home???? Well, at least we can look forward to some pretty interesting comments again about household repairs!! My house quit leaking because it finally quit raining!! I went for a walk with my doggy tonight. We walked up to see what kind of damage the huge creek had done to the fence between me and the neighbor. It's kinda knocked flat, but I won't be able to fix it for awhile because it's still underwater. That means that the sheep won't go across it til it dries off too. This morning I made reservations for a hotel room in Billings Friday night so that I can rest up before the Woman's Run on Saturday. I'm super looking forward to that. I can't believe that they actually had a room open, but I called the hotel that I usually stay in right by the hospital and they know me. Oh, here's the best news of the day, My "Answer man" Dr. Joe called me this afternoon and said that they went over my MRI with a fine toothed comb and it is "worsening arthritis in my back". Yay!! Can anyone be happy about having arthritis?? YES, because it's not the return of "you know what". I have to go to Glendive tomorrow afternoon and visit with him because he's going to figure out what I can take and not react to it that will help with the pain. I told him that I'd only taken a couple of the demerols because they made me goofier than I usually am and I didn't like the feeling. He said he's also willing to put off the stupid colonoscopy till mid-June so I can go to most my walk/runs before it and not have that right in the middle of everything. Relieved SIGH. I'm watching The Bachelor so I'm gonna quit and pop some popcorn and watch these women make fools of themselves like it's a movie. Heh, heh, Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
-
That is great news Nancy Lee! Gotta get kids to school. Later, Mary
-
Hooray for arthritis!
-
Nancy Hooray! Yes, in fact everyone was estactic a few months ago when my bone scan showed arthritis in six places. The school staff were running around shouting Janie has arthritis! I am sure there were people there who thought they had lost their minds.
Mary, I am so sorry about your insurance woes. I can only imagine how bad it is for you. I have two insurances and still pay enough out of pocket to add up to enough to count on income taxes, so yours has to be overwhelming.
Hi Paula
My garments have been ordered. I have a new arm sleeve and glove and extra have been ordered along with the night sleeve. I was between sizes and wear my glove under the sleeve instead of over....both were firsts for them and they thought I was weird, but quickly added that meant I am special. lol
good evening. must hit the sack now -
Thanks everyone--Dr. Joe gave me a whole bunch of physician's samples of Celebrex. We tried it once before and I ended up getting really bad nausea and I had to quit, but that was back when I was taking Herceptin and he thinks that may have just been a bad combination and you all know what Herceptin did to my digestive system all by its little old self. So I'll try this for I think there are about enough for 3 weeks and if it flies, I'll take those for awhile. Hope they help and don't make me pukey. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Mary, Mary, I got a real surprise when I logged onto my Relay for Life site tonight. It said "Welcome Mary Jo K" and had your name on the top of all my pages. My main page still said Nancy Lee C, but all the report pages and such had your name with my participant number. So I logged off and then back on and it did it again so I logged off a second time and went back and everything was fine. It was some kind of glitch that put your name on my reports because you are on my donation list at the top. So for awhile there I was gonna have to e-mail you and tell you that you were doing a great job for the TLC team and I'd see you in Glendive in July!! I love computers--they're so fickle. Well, long day with lots of highway miles tacked on so I'm gonna also go to beddy-bye--Nite all--Life is Great Smiles NancyLee
-
Hey Nancy Lee, thats pretty cool I came on your computer. I shouldn't gripe about my ins. but gosh, we pay a big chunk of money every wk. for it and it doesn't pay much at all. I could pay the bills with the ins. payments, at least we can say we have Ins. You are really raising a good amount of money Nancy Lee. I hear ya on the ibuprofen because I can take it 3 times and my stomach starts killing me and I have to stop. It is all the aspirin in it I guess. I try to eat with it but it still upsets my tummy. Oops gotta take a grandson to school. Later, Mary
-
Hey, girls, just checking in. I certainly have gotten busier with mom in town. Driving her here and there until she gets used to where things are.
Janie, I think my LE might be migrating to under my arm, too. So I guess I'd better call the therapist back. Ick. I hate MORE things to do daily.
Mary, when is DH "retiring" again? Have you figured out projects to keep him busy? Preferably at your children's houses? How are you feeling?
Nancy, you getting any relief from those other meds? -
Sigh. Sob. Scream. Laugh. Repeat.-----That's on the inside of a couple of my hats of hope and that's the way I feel today. Last night my throat felt a little scratchy so I drank some airborne and went to bed. This morning I woke up sneezing and with a full blown sore throat and so I called and asked if I could take a shot of my good old friend, Nyquil and was told NO, not with the meds that I'm taking because it would kill my stomach or make them not work right or some such nonsense--SO now tonight I can just feel it working its way down into my lungs and I already have laryngitis because my friend just called me and she couldn't even hear me on the phone. Now, here's my problem--I'm supposed to drive up to Miles City tomorrow afternoon and meet that friend to ride the rest of the way with her to Billings. Then we are supposed to walk in the Montana Womans Run on Saturday morning and shop til we drop on Saturday afternoon in real malls with real book stores and real Hallmark stores. Oh, you guys, going to Billings is something I really look forward to unless it's to see a doctor and this is supposed to be a fun weekend for me. I fear that I'm going to get bronchitis and then pneumonia like I always do when I get these stupid things and then I WILL be going there to see a doctor. I wonder who I got this sweet little bug from??? I think it might be from that lady I sat next to in the waiting room on Tuesday. She was all sniffy and sneezy and when I gave her "THE LOOK", she said that she just had such bad allergies. Allergies, my left tonsil, I bet she had a crappy cold and she passed it on to me. Well, maybe I'll just take the Nyquil tonight and take my chances because I want to go to Billings. Oh, and I don't know if the new meds are working because it's supposed to take a couple of weeks before you feel it for sure. The way I'm headed I'll probably screw them up taking cold medicine and it'll take longer!! Sigh. Sob. Scream. Laugh. Repeat. Life is still Good Smiles NancyLee
-
Oh, Nancy Lee! Maybe you need about 6 months of good, dry climate to get your back on your way to perfect health. I know, when Mary moves to Arizona, you should go visit her, get all better and then return to the tundra and your little kiddos. I hope you feel a whole ton better today.
Paula -
Hey, I just remembered that yesterday was 3 years since diagnosis. You know what that means. 2 years til we meet in chicago! see ya there!
-
NL, My goodness, you DO need to take your sinuses and throat and all else to AZ or somewhere for a while. GET BETTER quick!
Mary, I think I told you my gastro guy said Advil put his kids through college. It sure messed up my stomach.
PJ - Congrats! That Toddlin Town Chicago Ain't Seen Nothin Yet!
Well ladies, today sucked. That is all I can say. I will have to work some this Mother's Day weekend due to the inefficiency of others while they will probably be out enjoying themselves. Crapola!
Have a great evening! JF -
Happy Mom's Day Girls. Hugs, Mary

Happy Mom's Day Everybody!

Hey Girls, Congrats on the 3 yrs. P.J. I hope everyone had a great day. We cooked out and had birthday cake for my 5 yr. old grandson. Hubby and I hit the hay early lastnight after our adventure to WI. I drove up Fri. to pick him up and it was a 7 hour drive. I only stopped twice. WI. isn't much different than Il. but it is pretty in spots. There are a lot of lakes and every other vehicle is a truck pulling a boat with a motor as big as the boat. Hubby being a fisherman liked that. I left at 9 a.m. and got home the next morning at 4. Hubby drove home. He is so happy to be home and not in so much pain. He looked really stressed. He already put a new toilet seat on(padded). He is going through his tools and sorting things out. When I moved he was on the road so he has a lot of catching up to do with his tools and workshed. Well I better go. I am a little worn out. Hope everyone had a great day. Later, Mary

PJ--Three years--YAY!! I'd love to go south for the winter, but who can afford something like that with all the medical bills we are all paying off. SO--I just got back a few hours ago from Billings. I had SO MUCH FUN that I almost forgot that I'm sick. There were over 5000 ladies entered in the race. I got results back over the internet almost the moment the race was over. I just read them and it's a hoot. 3279 ladies actually finished the race. I came in 2771st. That means that there were only 508 behind me. They were probably in their 70's and 80's!!. In my age group of 55-59 year olds there were 287 of us and I came in 236th. I thought that Sheila and I were probably last in our age group because we were totally strolling along with these old ladies with white and or blue hair!! We really couldn't have walked much faster without running over this lady who was walking with her down syndrome little girl and this other lady who was pushing her grandmother in a wheelchair. They were all really friendly and chatty so we just strolled along and enjoyed the beautiful day. The best part of this was that although I had a very runny nose and had to carry a pocketful of kleenex, I was totally in shape for this and I wasn't one ounce sore or tired when we finished. After the walk, we went to the mall and shopped til we dropped literally. Sheila went to get her hair cut and I went card, book and shoe shopping. I got a new pair of lilac Crocs--lots and lots of cards to send to the lady that I'm a card ChemoAngel for, and BOOKS. I was literally in heaven in Hastings, Borders and the Hallmark Gold store. Now I've had my shopping fix for awhile. Hope you all had a great Mothers' Day. I'm gonna throw some clothes in the washer, take a fistful of cold and sinus medicine and finish unpacking. Nite all Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
-
Great Job N.L. I would still be trodding along to the finish line unless I hung onto the wheelchair and drug along with her. I get a little out of breath anymore. Have a good day girls. Hugs, Mary
