I was diagnosed for the first time in January 2000 at the age of 45 and then again in 2003 at the age of 48. Funny thing was in 1999 when I had my mammo they picked up the cancer did a core biopsy and told me it was benign, by the time my mammo came around in 2000 it had spread throughout the whole breast and they finally figured it out by doing an excisional biopsy. Glad I never missed a mammo.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2007 at the age of 42.It was caught just in time. It did not spread through my body and bones. Considering I had just had my first mamagram when I found out about the lump in my right breast,I was lucky it is treatable and curable. I will be done with chemo in August 2007,then I will have a lumpectomy, and then radiation. I am halfway there and I feel good.

I was diagnosed 6 weeks after turning 40. Went in for my baseline mammo, asymptomatic, and got a callback for calcifications...the rest is history. Diagnosed w/DCIS and preparing for bilateral mast. in June. I didn't want much attention paid to turning 40, but after all I've been through this year, I'm thinkin' about having a party when I turn 41 to celebrate making it through the year!

I was 48 at diagnosis - Oct. 16th, 2006. I had a breast reduction and my plastic surgeon found my 1.7 cm. tumour... The mammogram and breast ultrasound in June, 2006 showed nothing. It was quite a shock... but luckily caught early. Breast MRI before the mastectomy showed another tumour in the "bad" breast - it was 1.0 cm.
Finished FEC-T (FEC and Taxotere) on May 10th, feeling tired but okay, will start Herceptin on June 7, 2007 - every 3 weeks for a year.

20 days early from 38th birthday. Found lump myself. Stage 2 due to size,no family hx, no lymph nodes involve, her2+, so herceptin for 1 year as well, ACT for 4 month. They should change mamo baseline to be done when you turn 30 instead of 40 due to increase of BC at early age...

42 years old (dx'd on my fraternal twin sisters wedding anniversary - sigh). Saw lump peripherally while casually stretching in front of my vanity mirror. Had mammo at 36 in 2001 when gyn felt a small lump but was told it was nothing. Can't help but wonder now. Couldn't have a mammo at 40 due to being pregnant and then needed to wait until I was done nursing. Had started weaning my daughter when I saw the lump ... never nursed again after I saw it. Wish I would have known I'd never nurse her again when it was the last time.

I am 55 years old and had right breast removed on Jan. 4, 2007. Still doing chemo (done with first two drugs now getting Taxotere along with Decadron every 3 weeks) Doc didn't want to give me all three at once because of nausea. Needle slipped out last treament with Taxotere, now I have a chemical burn on my lower left arm near my wrist Only have 2 treatments left YAY! (no breast cancer history on either side of my family) God bless you ladies!! Sorry for babbling...

I was diagnosed with DCIS in the R breast 4/06 at the age of 27, and had a bilateral mastectomy to prevent a recurrence.

It was a good try, but in 4/07 at the age of 28 I was diagnosed with 1.1 cm IDC recurrence on the R chest wall. Now I'm doing 4 DD A/C followed by 4 DD Taxol followed by 6 weeks of radiation.

I'm hoping to kick the crap out of this cancer so it NEVER COMES BACK.
