Hi Ladies- Glad to read its been a pretty positive week for everyone overall.

My positve for the week is that I got the all clear at my follow-up mammo on Wednesday!!! What a relief!!! Now all I have to do now is see my surgeon for her follow and I'm done with doctors for a little while.
I know some of you are just beginning this journey but I am hear to tell you that it does end and life goes on.
I'm hoping this thread doesn't get the "disease" the Moving Beyond thread has experienced this week, its sad.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Thank you, Valerie, and congrats on the all clear. I know we are look forward to hearing that news each time.

I have never seen anyone here (PGC) be the slightest bit rude and we're here to encourage each other. Hopefully, things will stay nice! I'm in agreement with the ones who have said, if you don't like a thread, don't read it. That said, we're all going through a lot and get very emotional. Feelings do get hurt. We just need to brush off and keep going!

I feel very saddened at the events taking place in Moving Beyond. Here's hoping that group can keep moving and get over this.

    Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Tricia! I agree with whoever posted it, what is it about the CA gals? You all look so young and beautiful! Is it the Pacific ocean? Maybe the aura of the Napa Valley grapes. Whatever it is, bottle it and you will make a fortune!

May your cakes be plentiful and calorie free and your wishes sweet and all come true.

Jule - glad you are recuperating so rapidly. How nice that your offices made a point of recognizing you with flowers even though you weren't at work!

MissShapen - I am so proud of you for fighting for your job - and the time you need to take care of yourself. You'll know when you can be 100% and now you'll have your job waiting for you when you are. Good on ya!

    My positives:
It has been glorious here this Spring. Last week we actually got half an inch of rain, so my roses are blooming their fool heads off. I brought in 22 yesterday to fill vases and there are that many more wanting to come in again today. I grow only fragrant roses, so I love having them inside where I can stick my nose in them all of the time.

My anemia, though still slighlty worse, was not bad enough to need a Procrit shot this time around. My MD says that it's not something I can have any real affect on with diet - but I am eating spinach daily and trying to get more rest because it can't hurt.

After I complete 7 more daily self-injections of the Neupogen, I will be officially half-way finished with chemo! Had my third infusion on Wednesday and survived.

My toughest days are usually ~#5-8 and my sister is flying down to visit (along with her husband, a former professional chef) on day #6 to see what they can do to help out. My BIL is planning on stocking my freezer with pre-made meals. Even a couple will be a huge help!

Hope it's a terrific weekend for you all!

Tricia, you are more than welcome! Hope your day has been wonderful.

Lisa, sounds like things are going well. Let your family take care of you.

Gotta scoot. I am going to bed early and taking an Ambien to get at least one good night in. Am watching one of my newer all-time favorites on Family Channel, "Under the Tuscan Sun". I will get to bed after that. In the meantime

Hi - its a beautiful Sunday morning here - I have a closet to clean then out to garden - my back yard has been taken over by weeds . I need to apologize to all of you - work has been so crazy and then the kids sports schedule or school functions have also been bad that I realized when I was reading posts I missed a lot.

Tricia - Hope you had a great Birthday!! The best chocolate cake in the world sounds wonderful!!

Pam - I'm glad there was a cancellation and that you are getting your boob before mothers day - that is great!!

Valerie - that is wonderful about your mammogram!! I'm dreading my first post cancer one in June.

Miss S - I'm glad that you got things worked out with your company and that they are keeping your job - some employers are so heartless.

Dawn - I'm glad that you have found a doctor that listens to your questions and concerns - that is such an important part of good health.

Beth - when is your bye bye boobie party? I so admire you for taking this step - and for have been such a strong advocate of all those women that are at high risk. I honestly think that waiting for the shoe to drop is worse. I'll be thinking of you on May 8th!!

Lisa - 1/2 way done - that has to feel good!! I'm glad your counts were better and even if the onc says you can't eat your way to better counts - eating good has to help!! And to have a house full of roses - lucky you. Mine is going in the garden today (though its grown so much in its bag - I hope it doesn't freak actually getting into the ground)

My positives for this weekend is I got 1/2 my money back from weight watchers at work because I lost 5% of my weight - I'm pretty sure it was the same weight I lost the last 12 weeks but....Only 15 pounds to go.

Son's midterms came and he had straight A's - and that is with golf every night - how he finds the time to study....

Son's Golf Pro Lesson (our birthday present to him) went very well yesterday - basically his swing is great its just his set up that was off (no clue since I don't golf but he has struggled in the mid to high 40's for 9 holes all season). Scot (the pro) thought he'd break 40 this week. This means that the 10 lessons we budgeted for might not be needed, however, since we hope he gets a golf scholarship somewhere even if he uses all 10 it will be well worth it .

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and I promise to slow down and read my positive sisters posts better next week.

Oh and I watched the cutest thing at my bird feeder the other day

Very young female cardinal (she kept falling off the bird feeder) and very young male cardinal fell in love - it was so neat to watch the ritual and hear them singing to each other - I do love Spring.

    Good morning!

Kelly, what a wonderful batch of positives. Congrats on the weight loss. You obviously have a terrific son.

    How are you doing, Jule?

I had a very nice birthday dinner.

This morning, I was out feeding an iguana who showed up on the dock. I feed egrets most mornings, which I really enjoy. Maybe I will post some pictures. Jeff (DH) and I are going to go to the gym later. I wish I liked to exercise as much as he does.

    Hi Kelly,
Feeding animals is great....I work for Fish & Wildlife here and loves being outdoors, but my thing is more the elk and deer, too bad I couldnt figure out a way to feed them but I live in town .

Im doing really well healing up and am looking forward to my little mini vacation later this week...just about have the quilt finished for my friend that I will be taking when I go...

Im not a gym person either.....I my idea of a work out is more a long walk in the evenings, but I suppose once the dr. says its ok I will start back on my excercise machine at home, but he said not for another month or so....:)

Happy Monday everyone. I had the BBBB get-together yesterday and I was so overwhelmed by my family and friends. It is amazing how when you need them, they are there without any prompting. I posted the pics on the Moving Beyond: Time to Circle the Wagons. If you want I can post them here too.

Found a cool website to use for posting pics, picturetrail.com. You can do so many neat things with it. I posted a slideshow shaped like a cube to my family website (see my signature below). It worked better than photobucket.

Guess that qualifies for a positive! Later, alligators!

BTW, Tricia, love that iguana and the egret you posted! My ds so loves animals and he lieks being included with my "booby buddies" as he calls bc.org. I try to get him to see whatever furbaby pics are posted.

    Beth - pictures please!!

Tricia - where are your porch babies posted?

My positive for today - Mahony shot a 39 after shooting mid to high 40's all season - he may make Varsity and State if this keeps up. He's scheduled for another lesson on Sunday!!

Kelly, it sounds like the golf lessons are paying off already. How exciting.
I posted pics of some back yard critters in the Circle the Wagons thread - the big one. They are on the bottom of page 413.
    Have a great day everyone.

Kelly, it has been so hectic with people other than me that I just didn't post them here. Forgive me? My mom has demended a lot of time lately and i think it is because of my upcoming surgery on Monday.

Jule, a mini vaction. Sounds like heaven. I want to take a couple days in Cape May or Wildwood at the shore. We are fortunate that we have friends who have houses we can borrow. They like it because when I come down I cook for them so it is a pretty fair exchange. The restaurants are so expensive to go out all the time.

So here are the pics, especially for Kelly!

    Beth,

Love the pics. How fortunate for you to have such support!! Sorry, but I've forgotten - how far along in treatment are you?

I will be heading to Cape May Mother's Day weekend with some co-workers. It will be my first time away since my journey began in Aug '06. I'm really looking forward to it. Cape May is so beautiful. Our hotel is right on the ocean!!

Another nice spring day here in Jersey. YIPPEE!!

    Take care everyone,

Beth - thanks for the pictures!! It looks like it was a great time and you are truly blessed by such a great group of friends. Tell Sandy I love the t-shirt!! I'm thinking and sending prayers your way for Monday.

Jule - a mini vacation sounds so good right now - DH is remodeling a rental and a grump - we may need to plan something - some days I wish the kids were out of the house so we could just go....

Valerie - Cape May sounds wonderful too - the ocean smells and sounds ahhhhhh Lucky you!!

Off to work - I've got a busy day again. Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Valerie, right now I am bc free. I am BRCA2+, have very strong family history and have had 2 scares after needle biopsies. I have been doing preventive measures since 2002 starting with an ooph, have been on Tamoxifen a littel while and now the PBM on May 7th. Hopefully I will get a clean path report.

I love Cape May! There is a place to go for breakfast right on the ocean, Murphy's or Mc'something. I will have to ask my friend Karen and see if she remembers. We got to eat and watch the dolphins all at the same time. You do need to go quite early. Down near the point, you can sometimes see them and there are great boat trips to see the whales. There are two tours to check out too: the ghost tour and also the bed and breakfast tour. Have a great time! Post pics when you come back. One of these days I will get our pics posted on our family website!

Beth I love your pictures. I absolutely LOVED your friend's T-shirt. That says it all. I should have had that last Sat. when we took my daughter out for her 30th birthday! What a great bunch of people you have to support you.
Valerie it sounds wonderful where you're going. Where is Cape May? I hope you enjoy all that fresh air and ocean beauty. Breathe some of that air for me.
Jule the quilt is beautiful. I only started sewing again a few years ago. Haven't tackled a quilt yet. I make keepsake teddy's from clothing or blankets of people who have passed away. They always seem to be very loved by whomever receives them. My first one was for my sis. I made it from an old maroon flannel shirt of my dad's who passed away in Dec. '03. Made one for my mom also that Christmas ('04). She loved it dearly. I have some beautiful pictures of her hugging it. She passed away 2 weeks later from congestive heart failure. I was so glad I made her one too.
Jule, you enjoy your vacation. Oh I can't wait to plan mine. Holding off anything right now 'til I find out my biopsy results. Have a good time and just enjoy and relax.
    Keepin' the faith...Dawn

Beth - can you please try and find the name of the resturant. It sounds too good to pass up.

I am a little annoyed today. I was suppose to go for my 3 month follow-up with the surgeon and SHE cancelled. They wanted me to move my appointment up because they had a cancellation and I couldn't so they had to reschedule me on the 17th. I'll bet anything I was there last appointment of the day and they didn't want to wait around so they just cancelled. I can't say for sure but I would bet on it. It's just so frustrating.

Anyway, its been a beautiful week here in Jersey and its suppose to stay that way so that makes me happy!!!

    Hang in there ladies,

    Valerie

Jule, I hope you are having a great time! Your quilt is fantastic. My husband would love that - he loves sailboats and lighthouses.
    Beth, great pics!
Dawn, that is so sweet that you make those keepsake teddy bears. I bet they are treasured.
    Valerie, that is so frustrating!
Work has been busy for me this week, but that is good. I got back to doing some exercising this week, and I feel good about that.

    Hi ladies,

My positives for the week are:

I figured out how to do something new at work without asking my supervisor a ton of ?'s. (Chemo brain must be getting better).
I was able to play in my garden this week, we had such nice weather.
I am walking more and more - it feels great!!

Beth, love the pics! And Jule, LOVE the quilt! What a bunch of talent we have here!

I was MIA last week because of busytude, and this week - well, let's just say I had my first chemo and all the dang meds I have to take are kicking my bee-hind, especially the Decadron - I'm on a 3-wk TAC all at once regimen. I'm wired but tired at the same time. ARGH.

My positive is that I got a great short haircut in preparation for when it all falls out - and my short hair is so flattering that I think I will keep it short when it grows back out! I'm rockin' the gamine look. And I've cleaned out my makeup chest because now I need half as much makeup to look twice as good (now my hair is dark brown, not red, which is much more flattering).

    Toodles and positivity to all!

    Jule,
Love the quilt. I have got to try to be more creative!

    My positives:
    1. Son #1 will be here tomorrow night.
    2. I went to the Strawberry Festival and got some yummy strawberries and cream AND strawberries dipped in chocolate.
    3. My petunias are getting lots of rain.

Here is one of my wigs and my hat hair.

To see my #2 son modeling my wigs, go here for a hoot!

    Happy Weekend!

Oh my goodness, what a cute kid, Miss S! and I bet he has a good sense of humor, too.

Valerie, so glsd your brain is working.

Crystal, that is great that you are loving your new cut and color.

I had a good, busy week at work, and now a nice relaxing weekend with my hubby. My positive is that I only have a few more days to wait to get my MRI. Then we can get on with a plan for surgery. I am so ready to get going.
    Have a nice weekend.
