That's why I don't drink water!
Ok ladies, Pinkstock is only a few more moths away! If you haven't looked into going for a least a couple of days we really wish you would! It would be so fun to actually meet!
Oh we just got the news Baby Hayden's birthday is to be May 23, 2007 at 9am! Now I have to plann some vacation time! And I better get busy and get his blanket done! -
Hey Janis or other Chicago girls- if anyone is around Wrigleyville on Sat, pm your number and I'll give you my cell. I'll be at the game on Sat only. Go Cards!

A new reason to drink:
Fruity cocktails count as health food, study finds Thu Apr 19, 7:41 PM ET
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A fruity cocktail may not only be fun to drink but may count as health food, U.S. and Thai researchers said on Thursday.
Adding ethanol -- the type of alcohol found in rum, vodka, tequila and other spirits -- boosted the antioxidant nutrients in strawberries and blackberries, the researchers found.
Any colored fruit might be made even more healthful with the addition of a splash of alcohol, they report in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture.
Dr. Korakot Chanjirakul and colleagues at Kasetsart University in Thailand and scientists at the U.S. Department of Agriculture stumbled upon their finding unexpectedly.
They were exploring ways to help keep strawberries fresh during storage. Treating the berries with alcohol increased in antioxidant capacity and free radical scavenging activity, they found.
Any colored fruit or vegetable is rich in antioxidants, which are chemicals that can cancel out the cell-damaging effects of compounds called free radicals.
Berries, for instance, contain compounds known as polyphenols and anthocyanins. People who eat more of these fruits and vegetables have a documented lower risk of cancer, heart disease and some neurological diseases.
The study did not address whether adding a little cocktail umbrella enhanced the effects
Drink up!

I think I just might be down there visiting a friend (he lives maybe 4 blocks from Wrigley Field) so perhaps we can meet up!

I vote that the umbrellas DO add a great deal to the uplifting feeling of well being and decrease stress which decreases cancer risk.
Cheers!!! -
Do umbrellas go with scotch or wine??? And, are they dangerous if they accidently go up one's nose?
Cheers!!!
Jaybird -
Thanks for the warm welcome back.
Donna:I am still having a bud light every chance I get.Must not be affecting anything. There were 12 lesions in my liver in aug and now down to 4.So hopefully ned is on the horizon again.Along with new boobs.

Ok I have purchased tiny umbrellas for PINKSTOCK...now what do they go in?...lol...not much of a mixed drink girl...wine for me and beer for the DH...lol...you are gonna have to give me a list...so I have it on hand...
MB -
MB they go in anything you want! just take a chunk of Pineapple and poke an umbrella in it and put it in your wine!
Wishing I had been drinking then may I'd have an excuse for feeling so crummy!
But it has been really quiet in here!
Cheers! -
Hey sistas~
I'm making GREAT progress through a bottle of Pinot Noir. Angeline, I think it is, or used to be. Not much left now.
Had the day from hell at work. I HATE it when I make myself look stupid over and over to the same people. Why does it always seem to work out that way? And it's ALWAYS with people who are above you on the office food chain? !@#!*
Robin - so glad you are able to join us for drink! I too had a husband that chose cyber sex over the real thing. WTF? Guess that's why he's my EX now. But I'm SO glad to see you joining us! Let EVIL hang out with his cyber friends - he's the one who's really missing out. You always have us.
I have working my ASS off in my yard. Spent 23 hours from Sat to Mon just on the front yard. But - I have an awesome deck in the back, so whenever I get really stressed, I just go back there, sit down, have a drink and try to forget all the things on my "to do " list.
I still need to clean some more on the INSIDE now, so guess I should get off here. If I'm still able later, I'll check back in.
Cheers,
Donna -
MB - you are SO awesome for all your hard work to make Pinkstock happen! I hope to meet all my cyber sistas there for a drink! (or two or so) And I agree on the umbrellas thing! We can put them in anything we want to, by God! Not necessarily exclusive to drinks either
Cheers,
Donna -

Donna, I'm up for staining your deck LATER if you do some yardwork for me NOW! (remember the Popeye cartoon and the guy who was always eating hamburgers - what WAS his name anyway?)
My mom gave me some lilac trees (four small ones) and now all I have to do is figure out where to plant them! Mowed my lawn for the first time this past Sunday - what a chore! I definitely need a lawn boy! And I'm not referring to the lawnmower!
I've been busy with work and trying to get laid (and I did, with a guy who has a near-perfect body! ) and then a good g/f of mine stayed over for two nights with her 5 1/2 year old daughter so this place was crazy! Can you imagine a baby, a child, two hyper dogs and two insane women, all under one roof? Fun for all!
Tonight I HOPE to get some sleep.....
Cheers!
Jaybird -
Janis sounds like you've been having fun!
My lilac is big I didn't get it trimmed back this year. I try to keep it small.
Donna you still alive or did you work yourself too much?
where is everyone?
Haven't seen Lini in a long time I hope she's OK! -
Just gald to see all my gf's are here posting, I have been out of town and trying to catch up, love you and miss ya'll too! Hugs to Janis, Donna, CY. MB, Junie, Sam. Robin, Dottie, Sue and any other "drinkers" I have missed.
-
huggsss all--trying to keep up between thunderstorms--last couple days have been wild. More coming later tonight--no way am I going to start talking about the work being done on the house--not going to talk about the gecko in the house for 3 days that crawled up my arm and landed on my bare foot; not going to talk about the bobcat/cougar in the backyard a couple nights ago--gonna go grab me another ML and pretend that all is just hunky dory in my little slice of paradise!!!!!
-
So Junie - you live at the zoo or what? What's up with all the wildlife?
No Cheryl I did not work myself to death, but a couple of times I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I know why landscape workers are never heavy...I need to do that about 6 days a week!
Janis - sounds like you've been busy good for you!!
Had one of my insomnia nights last night. Finally got up at 4am and finished up the cleaning I didn't get to the other night. Now after tons of caffeine, I'm crashing big time and could fall asleep sitting here at my desk....
Hope everyone is having a good day!
Cheers,
Donna -
Donna the only good thing about falling alseep at work , if you don't get caught they pay you...
hugs....and when you get another caffine buzz come on over ...I need all the help I can get...lol
MB -
Well, all we have going on around here is a lot of rain and perhaps some worms! Now, I don't mind a little rain, but every day? My next day off is Sunday and if the lawn isn't dry enough to mow it will have to wait until???
It's scotch tonight as I worked the late shift (Avery is at my aunt's house for those of you who might be worried about me being drunk! )and I need to wind down some before I get to bed. I work at 9:00 tomorrow so no major buzz tonight! Have I ever mentioned that I hate retail? No new job prospects. Guess I'll just have to keep on dating until I find a rich man! I do have a date next Monday but nothing (so far) for the weekend. Perhaps I'll just clean the house.....
Cheers!
Jaybird -
