Helpful Appearance/Grooming Tips

Hi everyone. Not sure this is the right forum for this topic, but it seemed like the closest.
I have not yet started chemo (6/4), but am trying to get as prepared as possible. In all the on-line searching and reading, I realized that in addition to my hair, I would also probably lose my eyebrows. I had not even thought about it and not sure how I'll react personally, but I know a lot of people feel this is the worst part of hairlessness, and I started to look into solutions. I found you can get henna kits for temporary tattoos, and even false eyebrows. But everything seems expensive to me so I started experimenting with what I have. Here is what I came up with, using products I already own. I actually held my hand under water for 2 minutes and it held up fabulously.
1. Start with a small dab of shadow primer (MAC makes a great one).
2. Add a little eyeshadow close to your hair color.
3. Using waterproof mascara, very lightly stroke "hairs" across the prepped area (you might want to practice on your hand to get the right effect).
4. Using extra hold hairspray, refit the spray cap with one you can insert a small straw (like for WD-40). Shield your eye and lightly spray over the "eyebrow".
5. Let it dry, and unless someone is nose to nose with you, they look incredibly real, and won't come off until you wash your face and use make-up remover.
Caveat: you do have to be a little coordinated, but with a little practice, you should be able to get the hang of it.
Anybody else have easy grooming/appearance tips?

Boy! I am sure feeling paranoid now. It seems these interlopers appear right after every post I submit!!

have you scanned your computer for viruses lately? These kind of spams appear on the boards from time to time, it might not be you, but if it has happened on more than a couple of your posts you might want to scan, for your own computer's health as well.

I lost my eyebrows/eyelashes when I began Taxol (after AC). This was worst for me than losing the hair on my head!!!! But here's what I do for eyebrows....it takes a little practice but serves the purpose.
1. Choose an eye shadow shade close to your desired eyebrow color. My original eyebrows were black and I chose a shade slighter lighter than my desired color. I used dark brown/black .....black was too black and brought too much attention to my "fake" eyebrows.
2. Apply the eye shadow to your brow using an eye defining brush. I was able to see where the original brow hairs were because they didn't all fall out at the same time. I first dab it on and then go back and use short feathery strokes.
3. Use a Q-tip to erase any boo-boos and to get the excess shadow off your brow.
I use Bobbi Brown products and it's worked for me. I'm a little tired of doing it but hope mine are growing - I'm 5 weeks post chemo treatments.
Good luck and be careful with that hairspray!!!!
