Divine, thanks for sharing that. Lincoln Project. I could not agree more. The Republican party as it is now is something I don't even recognize. Hard to believe that during J. McCain's first presidential run, Dh and I ( not sure if we would have voted for him ) found him and his ideas quite interesting. He sounded to us at that time as someone who was willing to help pretty much everyone. Now that party is not woth the powder and lead to blow it to kingdom come.
Ruth, I found what your friends had to say about Trump and the Party illuminating. I had heard other comments from time to time that were similar, but haven't really run into any Reps. here that have been willing to discuss it. Mentioned on another thread, just this afternoon, in fact, that in our little town of 13,000 no one talks about their religion or their politics. Both are considered fairly private and should you not KNOW that and open either subject you often get cold stares.
Likely plenty here who would not change their affiliation, but at the same time I do think there certainly are many who would like Trump to fall off the side of the earth and not be able to get back. I do feel like they won't vote for him should he run, but not sure how they might look/treat the rest of the ticket. At the same time -- I'm thinking he won't run because their will be too much dirty water to try and swim up-stream in. Or, he might actually be in jail. I still feel some disgust over the fact he is still running around free as the wind. Rather that right now if it mens a super solid case later I guess. Just afraid he will lose what little mind he has left before the orange clothes go on.

Read this elsewhere and wasn't sure I trusted it. seeing it a second time--hope it is VERY true,
I
I think Mr. Weisselberg has been around the Loon for a very long time. I would think it might make any choice to save himself easy to understand. He knows that the Loon is a scared, vindictive bully who won't have a lot of steam to expend if he is sitting in a jail cell broke.

Illinois, you beat me to it. I came on now to post that meme!
-
Well, I share and your name is right under mine so the above is your posting too.Sort of peculiar -- I saw that twice and the second time took it as a omen that I really was/shoud post it after finding it in another meme collection at the same time.
Haven't watched a lot of news today and catching up on the computer tonight so not getting much at this time either. I think most of the day was spent on ( gulp ) Liz Cheney and her loss. She was prepared for losing althoug I'm sure she'd have rather, not all things considered. I hope she will be able to use her influence in good ways outside of the party and continue to remind Reps. of what they have willfully thrown away to follow the likes of Trump. A lot may depend on what happens in the up-coming election. If enough Trump people lose, a couple of people may start to wake up a bit.
There is some hope that the moderates have already seen the layout and don't like it.

I am so grateful for gratitude, a magical magnet.
A natural expression of a loving heart,
The power of gratitude recharges our souls,
In giving thanks we help heal the world
And increase our abundance of blessings unknown.

Or doctored footage.

I’m not a lawyer, but I’ve watched a lot of Law and Order too and think that Trump belongs in jail.
-
I am a lawyer, and nearly everything Drumpf has done is illegal. Surprised that Judge Reinhart ordered the search-warrant affidavit to be released, but at least he's allowing the DOJ to redact it (I would assume names, dates, certain places would be blacked out). He will inspect the redactions before release, to see if they're not too extensive. This release is unheard-of before charges are filed--it could amount to discovery of prosecution evidence, which is standard operating procedure pretrial but never pre-indictment. He's a trial-level magistrate judge but maybe DOJ can appeal, although the circuit in which FL is located might be even more conservative. He signed the warrant, and he & his family have received death threats, some anti-Semitic.

I'm not a lawyer either, but ANY person can discern lawbreakers, cons, misfits, and scuroloua people who are not interested in law unless it only applies to you -- and so before said misfit ever arrived on the WH steps I knew he woudl be no good and he didn't make me wrong in any way, shape or form. In time, but it looks like for the most part we are going to have to take it on the chin and fight for the light of truth and justice every inch of every yard and step along the way.
I find that while I still won't use the word hate, I do find myself detesting the Orange Loon more and more each day. Unlike most other evil and completely un-scrupulous people he walks around like he has a perfect right too -- like some sort of highly intelligent choir boy. Sometimes you get fed up with all the people who have looked the other way all these yrs. giving this deranged being a sense of being being ominipetent where the law is concerned.
eta: my spell checker no longer works and while I once was nearly an ace at it, I no longer am. If it is hard fo read for spelling errors, I apologise.

I was just thinking that very thing when I watched Dick's anti-Trump commercial the other day.

Loved the Randy Rainbow video. He's so talented and timely. What an appropriate theme.
