If this is a recent picture of this dude, dude doesn't look too well. He apparently didn't feel well enough to 'orange' hinself up anyway. He is so guilty, yet able to walk about like everyone. If there is any justice I hope he is walking around sacred half out of his mind -- although honestly, I don't think there is a whole lot left of that.

Typical of Trump to steal Biden's thunder. A great bill for American people got signed today and everything was still about Trump.
illinoislady: do sociopaths feel fear? They have no sense of guilt. He's angry but I don't think he is afraid. Most normal people would collapse from the stress. But then "normal" people wouldn't do what he has done.
-
You are right Elderberry, socio's don't do fear too much. I think they are too busy dreaming of pay back vengence and don't have much time for fear. And I've thought of the Loon this way ( sociopathic ) for a really long time. I do think he is though likely feeling some desperation since few of his efforts are bearing much for fruit. Somehow, it seems to me, he is not 'allowing' himself to be too aware of the numbers of times he has failed miserably. Was thinking of this in relation to your speaking about a normal person collapsing under the stress. Just how he is able to LOSE over and over and then somehow nullify these losses and go on mystifies me a bit. Then again, as you say, this would be a REAL issue for an otherwise normal person.
Although we as normal people are doomed to always feel the pain and distress of having a person such as he in or midst, I'm grateful to be the normal one. How odd to go your whole life and not have real honest-to-goodness feelings and expieriences. In fact, its horrid to not even realize that for yourself, normal is not even possible nor will it ever be -- at least not in this life.

I'm glad the warrant and receipt were un-sealed--it's chilling (though not unexpected) that the docs in question included nuclear secrets. Drumpf owes Putin "bigly." But his defense that he declassified them himself before leaving office? Reminiscent of Nixon's "if the President does it, it's not illegal." That would never pass muster with any court....oh, wait.... (For the life of me, the Gang of Six have their jobs for as long as they want and are beholden to nobody--unless they literally sold their souls to the Devil--so what do they have to fear by defending national security)? I fear, though, that David Brooks may be right: that the DOJ may just have unwittingly ensured Drumpf's second term. He owns the GQP--who fear him only insofar that they fear his base, who hold the keys to their own offices. His cult loves him and is willing to put up with all manner of criminality and even vote against their own interests because he resents whom they resent. They care about nothing more than "owning the Libs."
Miriandra, I hope the NLRB vindicates you and that you can convince enough of your co-workers to vote for the union. As a member of two AFofM locals and daughter of two shop stewards (AFSCME & CWA), I'm pulling for you. Sorry I didn't weigh in earlier, but this thread moves faster than flood waters in monsoon season. I can barely keep up (and sometimes I can't).

On a slightly different note, when I head that Salman Rushdie had been attacked in New York, I assumed it was NYC. I was so shocked to hear it was at Chautauqua! I visited Chautauqua several times when I lived in Cleveland (it's about 2 1/2 hour drive) and sat in that amphitheater to hear a talk about the environment. It's such a peaceful place and just has such a dignified air about it. Hardly a place for attempted murder of a famous author.

Truth is the beginning of every good thing, both in heaven
and on earth; and the person who would be blessed
and happy should be from the first a partaker of
truth, for then that person can be trusted.

Rushdie still had a $3.3 million fatwa on his head so he was fair game at a place/location where security was probably not high. Not sure the perpetrator was going for the fatwa or his rationale but it was "wrong place, wrong time" for poor Rushdie. His only sin, attacking what he felt was unacceptable behavior.
Meanwhile we have an asshole former president who is far worse in actions supported by the deplorables.

If we keep this question in mind while planning our days, we will
see that we actually have countless opportunities to add to our
life force. Being around people and places we love and doing
things that give us deep satisfaction, taking time to digest the
events in our lives, being less busy, telling the truth, laughing
a lot, eating right, exercising regularly, having long talks with
those we love--these are among the best ways to nourish our
vitality. Our life force thrives when we are
completely engaged in the present moment.

You know, it is still hard to fathom how this obnoxious con got into the WH. I do think in part that just as so many on our side thought it could NOT happen, and there were plenty on THAT side that thought the same thing. So too many independents stayed home and didn't vote. I hope we did learn that it is NEVER a waste of time to vote. Times it won't go your way, but you still need to try for an outsome that is not too hard for you to love with.
