Betrayal, that is filed under sad, but oh so very true. Didn't we come to a new world to leave religious suppresions behind. I would have thought Alito could understand history and not repeat it. He is VERY frightening.

A little thought to finish out the day.
and sometimes that's me actually.

A human being is a part of the whole, called by us "Universe," a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical illusion of our consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and foundation for inner security.

I doubt this will bother the Saudi’s or the players who have their money, but hopefully will get under trumps thin skin.

Haha! Funny, Ruth!
Ivana Trump was buried near the first hole of Trump National Golf Club. Her gravesite could offer tax breaks for the business.
The location of Ivana Trump's grave — near the first hole of the golf course at Trump National Golf Club — may have tax implications for the business owned by the former president.
Tax documents from the Trump Family Trust, published by ProPublica, show the trust sought to designate a property in Hackettstown, New Jersey, as a non-profit cemetery company, though the course itself is 20 miles away in Bedminster.
Ivana Trump, former President Donald Trump's ex-wife, is the first person known to have been buried at the Trump-owned golf course.
Under New Jersey state tax code, any land that is dedicated to cemetery purposes is exempt from all taxes, rates, and assessments. Cemetery companies are also specifically exempt from paying any real estate taxes, rates, and assessments or personal property taxes on their lands, as well as business taxes, sales taxes, income taxes, and inheritance taxes.
In the New Jersey Law Revision Commission, a "cemetery company" is defined as "a person, corporation, association or other entity that owns or operates a cemetery, but does not include a religious organization that owns a cemetery which restricts burials to members of that religion or their families unless the organization has obtained a certificate of authority for the cemetery."
Trump has planned for at least a decade to build variations of a cemetery on the course. NPR reported in 2012 that his intention was to build a mausoleum to one day be buried in himself. He later amended his proposal to create a cemetery on the property to suggest building more than 1,000 possible graves.
He later changed designs again, planning to create a "10 plot private family cemetery" in the same location, The Washington Post reported in 2017. Trump further amended the proposal to include a 284-plot cemetery, which would have gravesites available for sale.

The mind boggles. I will come back to make a coherent rant.

OMG, I 'noticed' that burial bit since I even had a meme, but being busy didn't follow through and read any furthur. So up to right now, I sort of thought it was a joke. How throughly disgusting and cheap. These are things in my view that almost no one else would do. At least if they have I haven't heard of it. Well, I guess since I see this man has somewhat lower than a snake I guess it should not come as a surprise at all. Wondering if Ivana was aware she would rest for all time at a golf course.
I also must presume the idiot children are not raising one iota of a fuss over this. Maybe they will happily end up gracing golf courses as well. It is easy to see why the upper crust of Manhattan/New York wanted nothing to do with the Trumps. I think someone should remind the Loon he is going ro end up whereever he goes after his FINAL event, the same way he came in. Naked with nothing but the blanket he got wrapped up in. You can't take it with you but I think he will 'haunt' whomever gets it ( if there is any left ) when he departs and winds up penniless for sure -- no money allowed. I'm sure if he could just find a way to actually take it with him, he would.
ETA: Just thinking, it would be fun to take bets on Melania's will and what she might specify about her 'final' resting place. That look in the picture is hilarious, Ruth. No matter what it is about.

Utterly true -- I so can't wait until we are rid of this filth and degradation and sooo hope at least some of the Reps. who have stood by silently will feel a sense of personal pain that they did so. So hard to wake up daily knowing we are still having this be a part of our lives.

That is the widest I have ever seen Melania's eyes open. Yes, by order the third hole would be hers but since the 2 of them were not "friends" her true revenge would be to be buried on top of Ivana. If he gets away with deducting the taxes on his Bedford golf course due to her burial there, that is a true travesty of the tax laws. Almost as bad as the former football player/politician who by virtue of putting several donkeys on his property in NJ was able to deem it a farm and thus pay less in taxes for his mansion.
Had the same thing happen locally where the former dairy/steer farm was subdivided on to large lots so they could build McMansions topping $15 million each. They were deemed exempt from paying local taxes (including school) since a small area was kept for the steers. Funny thing about steers urine, on a very hot day riding past them emits an odor like an overripe litter box. These are people who could well afford to pay taxes if they can afford these over the top homes and yet, most likely they are repugnicans and had a lawyer who found them these lucrative loopholes. Not my township but an abutting one. Farm used to belong to the woman who was the model for The Philadelphia Story. The family sold off all the land for millions of dollars.
Great memes.

Pessimists see only the dark side of the clouds, and mope; philosophers see both sides, and shrug; optimists don't see the clouds at all--they're walking on them.

The un-feeling, un-caring greedy and power hungry Republicans have the same attitude about Veterans as they do babies/children once they are out of the womb. Go away, don't bother me. That party is just the dregs of society to me anymore. Once, a few yrs. ago I really found some commom ground and while it was never strong enough to vote for them, I certainly didn't have all the negative feelings I do now. If their party crashes and burns ( of course I hope for it ) I will definitely join in a well deserved toast to them and their epic failure as a party.

No way would I ever allow my imagination to even think of coming close to doing that.
All he can do is walk around on well manicued lawns with funny sticks in his pudgy hands and disgrace himself and the world at large.
