This is what makes it so bad for people like Barrett to be on the Court. I did read in passing where the last three actually getting seated lied in their confirmation hearings and should be impeached for it. Sadly, the other side is so far gone they will WELCOME the opportunity to let all three off the hook so we are stuck with them. We can put more on the court later I hope so as to be able to nullify their ability to foist off on all of us their backward agenda's.
There is so much that needs changing now -- but first we have to keep the other side from winning these next elections and we need to seat enough from our side to keep the right from stopping what we know the people want to see. We need to change things asap.

The wonderful picture of the 4 "handmaids" - one telling the others that she just didn't like Hillary - has disappeared. i can't remember who posted it and I haven't been able to find it elsewhere on the www. I know there are problems with BCO, but maybe whoever posted the original picture could post a link? Or Jackie - since you appear able to post, maybe you could re-post it? Thanks
-
Minus -- I'll try to find it.

Here’s a link to Reddit Handmaidens & Hillary https://www.reddit.com/r/PoliticalHumor/comments/ujwi1v/awake_to_the_world/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
As for the site, I’ve been trying not to comment too, but it’s very frustrating. I can’t imagine being a newly diagnosed patient trying to navigate the site trying to find support. I worked it IT for 30+ years, mostly supporting financial applications. We always tested, including user testing before going live and if there was any problem, we rolled back to the previous version. You don’t mess with payroll or bank accounts. I hope they get this resolved soon

This is a political cartoon by Sheneman. Glad links work.
-
The problem with images might be file size. But since they've never specified what problem they're trying to solve (for any of this, really), it's hard to help. Just another benefit of our "upgrade".
-
Something to do with security is why no pics. Have 0 reason to believe anything from these people.except to send them $$. Sounds like Cheeto.
-
spookiesmom,
Increasing lack of credibility does make it difficult to believe what we've been told. I know I keep harping on it but I believe no bco member tested this new format before it was rolled out. Why do I believe that? Because not a single member has come forward to say they were testers and everything worked well. Or perhaps they did say it was a hot mess and were shocked that bco went ahead and rolled it out in its glitch riddled version anyway. Regardless, something is very rotten in Denmark..

exbrnxgrl, I wonder too why we go along w/o seeing anything nor hearing either. If we get on here one day and it is all changed -- well, it's truly going to be an amazing surprise, but I'm worried this is about going to be it. Like many, I've tried not to complain too much to the mods over ANYTHING. I don't know how much input they may be able to share, but I'm pretty sure someone much farther up the chain gets the real say-so. I think they end up having to follow rules and orders that come from somewhere above them. I think it would be highly un-pleasant to deal with the amts. of people who once used this site because it was a lot of people wanting, I'm sure a lot of different things -- still, it did seem to function at that time ? easier, better, faster -- not sure which one applies and where it fits in the line.
It is hard to imagine that THIS was supposed to be better. I have some hope but even I, with it usually hard to take away my hope, feel like it is getting thinner and thinner. At the least it sure would be nice to have gotten some "updates" along the way as we wait.

Cardplayer & Illinoislady: Thanks for the handmaids links & re-posting the 'cartoon'.

For those whose memes are coming through; would you be willing to list the steps you take to make it happen?

One of the worst features about worrying is that it destroys our ability to concentrate. When we worry, our minds jump here and there and everywhere, and we lose all power of decision. However, when we force ourselves to face the worst and accept it mentally, we then eliminate all these vague imaginings and put ourselves in a position in which we are able to concentrate on our problem. -Willis H. Carrier

Ruth, when I want to put something ( meme or quote here ) I find it, hit copy to paste it, bring it back here and then hit v for view and it hops onto the page. I do not use the box in the line on top of this space -- where the bold and italic buttons are. I don't know -- maybe that is the difference, but only a guess.
-
Checking my work:
I found this picture and I tapped it, got a box which had the option, copy image. So, I copied it. I assume it went on my clipboard. Now, I'm going to put it here.
So, I hit the v -- for view and it popped itself on the page. Since I had been doing it this way for a long, long time, even when they changed those options up above where we type -- I never used the little picture box up there. It continued to work just fine the way I always did it, so I kept it up since it was so easy and familiar.
Also, if I want to change the size, I just tap around the rt. corner of the picture and it will give me some shading of the box with a dotted like to the outside and the word EDIT in the middle. I just go to the corner and start moving it till the meme gets to the size that seems appropriate to me. It saves space for us here as well so we don't have to refresh our page for a long, long time.

We are still on the abortion topic/s pretty much as we have been since the LEAK. I did read -- the Reps. hate the leak since they are poised to use the SC for all the dastardly deeds they wish to accomplish and whomever leaked has made that fairly transparent. I do hope this will indeed energize us to the max although I'm not hearing the media reference that other than in passing. They seem more inclined to want to speak about energy from the other side.
Un-fortunately, we cannot trust the news outlets who are vying for their viewership/readership. We are not going to be out of the woods by any stretch, but I'm thinking we are a bit better than the polls or media wish to report at present. What we have most learned lately -- the Reps are as down and dirty as ever to the point of evilness, and our message needs to be a lot louder and stronger, and we cannot give any faith to the SC which is ready to do all the extreme right wants. Even when you know it doesn't quite work as well as it should -- it is still a real shock to see an institution dissolve before your very eyes. Hopes, faith, trust, solidness, pretty much destroyed. This is what the Reps. don't want out of the bag so very transparently. It will make it a lot harder for them -- and people will likely keep the pressure on a lot stronger and longer. We can only hope that we keep the branches of government we have and even expand -- since we are stopped right now from what is needed for a strong democracy.

Well, I found a meme; clicked to copy, brought it over here. Inserted it and it showed up on my end. Clicked to post & a blank post showed up, clicked 'Edit' and I could see it in the edit mode. Submitted it again and nothing. More than all the other glitches, this one is driving me out of my mind!!!!!!

I'm giving up posting memes & pictures. Here's a few articles & a video to share.
Protests outside Kavanaughs home

Irony from Clarence Thomas
-
I got to tell you, this one caught me off guard:
-
Read both your entries, cardplayer. Kavanaugh is a sniveling, spineless crybaby. As for Clarence Thomas....he certainly doesn't engage in serious thought before he starts making his holier than thou statements. Of course, I'm of the mind that he was a 'court' mistake just like Kavanaugh, Gorsuch and Barrett, only years earlier -- so truth telling, I never expect much from him as it will generally be flawed. Of course, the people mentioned, especially the last three were for the expedience of the Republicans and their agenda and nothing else.
I doubt those people give it much thought or indeed have any conscience about it, but I would hate the thought of why I GOT my court seat, every day I was there. They haven't the sense to feel illegitimate but they are just the same. I would definitely feel like an interloper not quite belonging. I'm sure they are proud. I think it just sad that power, greed, fame or any number of ill gotten reasons should make them ill at ease to the nth. degree but to their bad credit they don't even notice. Shameless and spineless -- taking something offered completely and VERY un-deserved.

As for those "abortion stops a beating heart" billboards, claiming that a fetal heartbeat can be detected at 4-6 weeks? (Gordy's wasn't audible before the start of my second trimester). What the anti-choice people call a "heartbeat" is nothing more than an electrical impulse--which can be emitted by and detected in fetal tissue (unconnected to a fetus) in a Petri dish. If the ultrasound probe can't hear it, it ain't beating.
If Roe can't be codified by Congress, then at least there should be NO objection whatsoever to a statute forbidding penalties for surgically or medically removing products of conception which would never survive to term if left undisturbed--especially if non-removal would lead to maternal hemorrhage &/or sepsis*. That way women who miscarry and incompletely spontaneously expel an unimplantable embryo, blighted ovum or ectopic pregnancy could not be punished for having a D&C, vacuum aspiration, or surgical ectopic removal to finish what Nature screwed up--and neither could their treating health care professionals. Anyone who votes against that would clearly be exposed as someone who is simply against women having non-procreative sexual intercourse.
*And even though I'm a doctor's wife (and a lawyer) and I feel many medical malpractice lawsuits are money-grubbing bullsh*t, I would be perfectly fine with codifying a cause of action for medical malpractice for failing (negligence) or refusing (intentional tort) to terminate a doomed pregnancy that results in maternal injury.
-
Chisandy,
Not to mention, when a woman is 4-6 weeks pregnant she's actually 2-4 weeks pregnant, since the countdown starts at the date of the last period. Such nonsense.
-
You become spiritually rich when you discover the riches of the kingdom within, when you have a consciousness of the oneness of all life; when you experience kinship with nature; when you are open to the buoyant spiritual lift of being in tune with the Infinite, when you know the power of meditation and prayer. -Wilferd A. Peterson

Even the good book seems to indicate that life doesn't actually begin until the first breath OUTSIDE the body. I agree totally Sandy, about the electrical impulses NOT being actual heartbeats. Many forget -- judge not, lest you be judged. Some parts of life are easy to forget, but they are still there
I'm starting to wonder if someone will actually cave a bit and just how much. I do think whoever leaked wanted to give the other side a heads up to be prepared for the long haul. No one wants to be seen as giving in but you certainly have got to notice how intense the backlash is going to be. Just going to be interesting.
